Damn, dude. That must of taken a LONG time... lol. Gj! Nice pic too!

This whole post had such a huge country feel to it. Loved it.

Thanks fellers ^_^ --> yah it did take alot of time, and alot of force exertion.  It takes alot out of a guy to do it.  And especially considering weight (considering my height is 6 foot), it's pretty crazy...  Guess'n my natural farmer's build helped me out in the long run.  If didn't have that, and if I had narrower shoulders, I doubt I'd have been able to do it.  Shoveling asphalt out the back of a ton truck all day long, you gotta be tough enough from the get-go... and then you just build up a better tone as you continue.  But, like I said, it's more of an endurance thing.  Being outside all day whilst doing that work, repetitively, you can't tire out easily if you want to keep the job.

Other things we've done besides patching:  Cutting up fallen/downed limbs, some of which so huge we went through two chainsaws before we could get it in the back the truck; mowing/weed-eating/trimming (pretty standard); changing inloader tractor tires (front ones, of course, but still, them things weigh like 100 pounds if not more); some mixed cement work (carrying 80 pound dry bags of mix around sucks); changing truck and tractor oil (standard again); digging out ditches both by hand and then with tractors; cleaning up the streets and painting curbs by hand before the Fulton County Fair (takes a week with a team of like 4-6 guys); and then we also did some sand throwing by hand when the spreader truck wasn't working (shovel --> sand --> baseball/golf style throwing and spreading of sand across streets that were bleeding [tar])...

Damn.  Looking back at that, I can't help but repeat something I said earlier... "who needs [to lift] weights [when you work like that]".

Heheh, I've posted this picture before... It's a good one!

This is something I really love and respect about country people. ( And Applejack  ;)  ) They have such a good work ethic. ( Well the majority of them anyways. )

Applejack in a dress, you say  :derp:

I can't be the only one here who enjoys Applejack with a bandana on, can I? ( Well, judging from @Miles's avatar, I guess not. ^_^ )

But yeah... Applejack always looks cute in one.

Awe shucks, thanks Megajack...

I try not to flaunt and gloat, and toot my own horn, because I really am humble, but in a sense it can be hard not do that when I'm just being plain honest.

And with that, I should say that the work I did was not easy for me, but naturally, I just did it.  That's the basic background principle of what you're talking about with our country work ethic - if it needs done, do it.  And by golly, it needed done, in order for me to earn some incoming.  The cost of gas, especially in my truck (2001 F-150), plus everything else, and then coming from a lower-lower-middle class family... I had to start working when I was 13 (not that I had my truck til I was 16, though)  --> but as a 13 and then 14 year old I wasn't working for the city; just mowing lawns for some odd, you know.  Then when I turned 15 I started working for my city in the summer time.  Don't, and didn't really ever get much of a break.  From schoolwork to actual work, and back... play didn't get much time.

...

'Specially now that I'm a sophomore in college.  Gee whiz, tuition is horrid.  And these classes, damn... they're not easy, at all.

So, yeah.  I've just been living by the ethic of "doing what needs done," and then should there be extra time for other things, go ahead.  If not, then there just isn't.

Heheheh, it just so happens that my avatar has one on.  I do believe she does look very, very good in that red bandanna, though, no doubt.  Hmmm... I wonder if she looks good in other colors, too?

e68d511b09.png

Of course she does!

But, obviously, of all the pictures I can search through quickly, the majority in which she is sporting kerchief around her neck, it's red.

^_^

Oh well.  Oddly enough, you caught me at a funny time in saying that about my avatar, because I did plan on a change soon... time will tell how soon, idk...

That green bandana does look great on her. I find that green looks best on Applejack... maybe because it goes with her eyes, perhaps?

I got to admit though... blue looks pretty good too. Unfortunately I couldn't find any blue bandana pictures, because, well... like you said, the majority are red. ^_^

EDIT:

Fixed my problem with Photoshop:

Awesome!!! I was trying my damned hardest to find her in a blue kerchief, now I finally have one.  Lol, just wish I could find her in something like this:

But it seems most are red, and only a few are green on her.

Dang, these pics are awesome... I am really liking what y'all have been posting, haha.

Here's a cool sketch of her humanization to add:

Funny you mention that. I just got an Applejack figurine yesterday... ( Well... toy. Although, I'm pretty much using it as a figurine.  ^_^  )

I was at Target and saw it for $3 by the register, so why not?

Gotta love that high quality picture, amirite?

Just one of those small basic ones... this is my first MLP toy I've gotten... funny, because when I became a brony, I swore I would never buy a toy. So much for that. :comeatus:

Ah... I've seen that video before. Actually a fan of the channel that made it, Cutie Mark Laboratories.  He's got a lot of other interesting videos.
