I'm actually a pretty old member here, I joined in june of 2012 I think, and I used to post a lot of art as I was learning how to draw ponies, so yeah I understand your surprise of why Rarity is my favorite pony, I used to spread Rarity love way back when she wasn't as popular as she is now (not in a ghosty scale but I did what I could)

Am I the only one who liked the 2-tails thing I mean, I thought it was beautiful. I still like the original design we see in the banner quite a bit, even more than the 2-tails/huge mane we saw in the show, but I honestly enjoyed the style she had more than any of the others Guess I'm just weird like that

I apparently liked it so much that my subconscious ciphered Rarity into having nine fox tails. 

Err... well, I could be wrong about that. It may have to do with the fact that the fox is my favorite animal. Cunning, yet beautiful; striking, yet subtle...

 

... like her... That makes sense.

Some of these are cartoon realism nitpicks.

 

Others are legitimate oversights, observations and mistakes that I got a good chuckle out of.

It's not that Rarity is hated on, this video just points out on how out of character she is in this episode. They should put a warning on those wings that say 'May cause stupidity.' Cause it was not Rarity that is for sure.

This is why I hate that cancerous growth of an episode - it left a huge blemish on what was otherwise the most pure and fun season Seriously, I wish that stupid episode never happened -_- Not gonna watch it.

I completely disagree with this, the first season is practically untouchable because that season is the base and the founding of everything, and it was carefully supervised by Lauren Faust, who created the characters.

Sure Rarity was obnoxious in this episode, but she learn a lesson from it, and could totally see her behaving like especially because she takes pride on her appearance and looks.

If Rarity was nice all the time she would be a boring character to be honest so no, she wasn't out of character at all.

well, on my part I like when characters have a bad day, this was definitelly Rarity's bad day. The Mysterious Mare do Well was the bad one for Rainbow Dash.

 

But, I take Sonic Rainboom any day over that episode because Rarity trully seemed humbled and touched that Rainbow saved her life and she was really sorry for the way she took Rainbow's spotlight and she was ashamed of her actions, on the other hand, in Mysterious Mare do Well I felt like Rainbow was like oh, ok I get it, I don't care for the lesson but I'll pretend I learned something just to please my friends.

 

The thing is, the characters have different ways to overcome their faults and I like how Rarity does hers.

awww that was really deep and also, adorable I admit. I get why you hate it now, it wasn't the characterization or plot, you just hate seeing Rarity having a bad moment.

The only episode I consciously hate is Rainbow Falls, which gets EVERYPONY (except Derpy) out of character.

really? the only 2 weird things I noticed were that Spitfire was completelly unprofessional for a wonderbolt and that Rarity would've never made costumes like those. I know she sacrifices utility over looks, but those costumes didn't look good or were functional in the slightliest. Everything else was fine.
