I'm pretty neutral about it, honestly, but I wouldn't have been happy if it really happened.

I hated even the remote possibility of Sparity. Then again, I also hate Spike. He's an irritatingly bad comic relief character and only serves as a stand in for Pinkie when she's not available for whatever reason. He's obnoxious, juvenile and moronic.

There's no way I'd settle for Rarity being matched up with someone so pathetic.

Now APPLEJACK on the other hand... :D :D

I myself never really saw it going past the "peck on the cheek" stage.

Spike wasn't ever really my favorite character, either, but I find a lot of redeeming qualities about him

 

Of course, Rarity is mien

 

He just sort of reminds me of my childhood...when I see Spike happy, I feel happy. (Not like when I see Rarity happy, though When Rarity's happy, my grin streches from one end of Texas to the other )

 

He's just a child, and we were all a bit goofy at that age. So, I can't say he's my favorite character, but certainly one I enjoy nonetheless.

He definitely gets irritating at times, though

Ok, so I may have dumped an excessive amount of Spike hate, but I'm not really sorry. I find the character really grating and kinda pointless. (I'm also a little hype off watching UMvC3 finals all morning).

 

Keeping relevant, I do believe Rarity needs someone better. At least someone with a bit more character and personality who would be capable of actually challenging and/or supporting her.

This is something even she needs to realise, she is a clever, strong and talented mare, and the likes of Trenderhoof and Blueblood. for example, are not the right mates for her. She needs, and deserves an intelligent, strong and caring lover.

Rarity and Spike in Twilight's library. This one even has a story to go with it!

 

"Twilight!  Why do you have to have so many books?"  Rarity exclaims as she put another book on a shelf already overloaded with more of it kind.  She sighs to herself regretting agreeing to help with restocking the shelves after the library closed.  "Please Rarity.  I really need help, she says.  It will be easy she says.  What she failed to say was that she was not going to be helping me."  Rarity huffs as she puts another book on the shelf.  She suddenly stops as she can hear movement along the isle.  She turns to see Spike caring a pile of books in his arms up to his face.  Only his eyes are visible from the top of the pile.  "Uh! Spike!  I thought these were the last books."

 

Spike squeezes in next to Rarity and places the stack of book on the cart near them.  "Uh ya!  Sorry about this.  I found a few in Twilight's room.  She tends to hoard them."  Spike turns around with a book in hand forgetting how little room there is between the shelves as he lightly bumps into Rarity.  "Oh s.sorry Rarity." 

 

Spike has grown up a lot in the past couple years.  Rarity can feel he firm muscular chest as he bumps into her.  His strong arms reaching around to steady her.  He is taller then her now as she looks up into his deep green eyes and stunning face.  He is no longer the boy she first met hanging onto Twilight arm.  No he has become a man and every inch of him is enough to darken Rarities fair cheeks.  "I..."  She pauses as she can smell his fragrant musk.  "I can finish this."  The blood flow to her face deeps the glow making it hard to hide.

 

Spike looks down to her.  Her eyes sparkled radiantly from behind the frame of her glasses.  Though his eyes trace down her delicate nose to her soft seductive lips.  Further down his eyes wander till he sees something that is new to him at this height.  He has seen them before.  Hugging a new sweater design or his favorite.  Filling a perfect new swimsuit.  Though never before from this angle.  As the day wore on and the warm summer night fill the air.  Rarity found it more comfortable to loosen the top button of her blouse.  For once, Spike is great full for the such a warm night.  He enjoys the view for a moment as his face turns flush, before quickly averting his eyes back to Rarity's face.  Rarity quickly turn away embarrassed know why he is blushing.  Normally Spike would apologize and run away after he is caught admiring the beauty of her form.  This time though he feels more bold.  When would he ever get another moment like this.

 

Spike takes a book in hand and reach up behind Rarity to place it on the shelf behind her.  He moves in closer to her.  Pressing his toned chest into hers causing her to face him.  He smiles coyly from his boldness.  It is now or never.  "You know Rarity.  When you have a good book right in front of you.  You should always make sure to read it...."  He leans in closer to speak softer with his best seductive voice. "... Cover to Cover."

 

Rarity looks at him intensely for a moment before clasping her hand over her mouth to cover her sudden laughter.  "Mmhahaha!"   Spike moves back confused giving her space as she gains control of herself.  Wiping a couple of joyful tears form her eyes.  "Oh my.  How long have you been waiting to use that line?"  She starts to snicker again causing Spike to grab his arm and look away.  His face bright red from embarrassment.

 

"Uhh!  Ya!  Funny right.  Just a...."  Spike looks down at one the books trying to think of an excuse.  "... just a..."  What can he say?  He just made a fool of himself.  Of course a corny line like that would not work on someone as sophisticated at Rarity.  He tries to hide but there is no were to go.  *This is the worse moment of my life.* he thinks to himself.  Or is it?  He quickly turns his head back towards Rarity as he feels a gentle hand caresses his cheek. 

 

She smiles at him as she brings her hand around the back of his head.  "It was corny.  Good thing your so damn cute."  With that she quickly pulls Spikes head down to hers as she kisses him deeply.

 

His eyes go wide with shock and confusion.  *What just happened?* he thinks to himself.  He focuses on Rarity and realizes it is not a trick. This is not fake.  It is not a dream he has had for so long.  This is real.  Without thinking he reaches around and pulls her close.  He is lost in this moment with her.  Lost until something unexpected happens.

 

"Well I see you both have become quite productive."  Spike and Rarity suddenly let go of each other as the turn to face their audience.  Twilight stands before them with a wide grin on her face as she looks at two scarlet faces trying to hide and straighten the new found wrinkles in there cloths.  "Though you might have found it more educational.  In the isle behind you.  That's were all the sex eduction books are."  Twilight starts to laugh as she turns and walks away from the two.

 

Spike rubs his head.  *Is it all ruined now?*  He thinks till yet again he feels Rarity's gentle hand touch his chest.  He looks down at her as she smiles sweetly at him.

 

"Maybe..."  She smiles a bit more coyly at him.  "Maybe your right.  I think I could use a good book to spend some quality time with."  She bites her lower lip as she stand up on her toes to kiss him softly on the lips before turning to walk away.  Rarity pauses for a moment with a small giggle.  "One I might find worth reading, Cover to Cover."  She looks back with a wink.  "Someday."  With that she walk away to head home.  Leaving Spike stunned and lost in a moment only read about in books.
