You're right, and that's why some people seem to overlook her generosity.

 

It's subtle, and she doesn't brag about giving things ever - which is true generosity. If she bragged about it, then her generosity would be to make herself look good. She doesn't ever brag about her charitable deeds, though, and that's how you know her generosity is pure :D

to be fair, she kinda did in the Generosity song.

I don't think that really counts.

 

Did Pinkie brag in the smile song? Nobody would even think about accusing her of that... And it's left to assumption if the songs actually really happen to the characters, like Rainbow said, who bursts randomly into song?

The Smile Song was not as bad.

But I don't think one I AM song would change the overall pattern, she does not feel the need to take credit for her generosity.

 

And the song was less "I am so damn generous", as only two lines have that vibe, and more about the way she deals with and views the world.

So it also gets a pass for simply being descriptive.
