Sad Songs

A sad song, eh? I've heard many that have made me shed tears for one reason or another.

 

But one of the saddest songs I've heard is from, amazingly enough, Garfield special "Here Comes Garfield" with the song "So Long Old Friend". The scene where this plays is just so touching and sad. I mean see for yourself.

there is a story behind this song but once you get to the end you will cry sample lyrics: your fathers dead he passed in his sleep.

Song about a pet dying. can also be interpreted as a family member dying.

I've always thought "Space City" was both extremely sad and incredibly beautiful. Mike Cooley is probably my all time favorite songwriter.

If you ask me, this song hits it's emotional crescendo about 5 minutes in, but it is still good all around, and definitely one of the more moving songs that I have heard before.

Oh, a music thread I haven't posted in.  Let's change that.

 

I'll start with Thomas Giles.  Not enough people have checked out his solo work.

 

 

This one probably won't make a lot of people sad, but it does for me.  This entire album is a perfect blend of melancholia and heavy.  It's too bad this band broke up.
