Should all of the Mane Six become alicorns?

with twilight being a alicorn, most people are good with that im fine with it too but having the other five become alicorns have a pro and a con the pro is that YOU WILL HAVE MORE PRINCESSES!!!! and twilight wont be lonely but the con is that, how would you rule a country with 6 ponys!!!!!

Hell no. Do you really think the writers are going to just copy the plot-line from Princess Promenade when they know g3 is widely hated? That aside, it's a stupid idea anyways because you'd have so many princesses that they would have nothing to do.

 

But then again, that's just my opinion. If you really think it's a good idea, and that it would be a good story-line, then I suggest you write a fanfic about it.

Really I think that the most plausible way for DHX to preserve the lifespans of the other Mane 6 would be to incorporate the Elements of Harmony. Being the Bearers of the Elements they might be granted longevity, in order to protect Equestria.

I just can't see the rest of them becoming alicorns, that would be kind of overkill. I mean, nine alicorn princesses? The phrase "this town ain't big enough" comes to mind.

My theory and headcanon is that once Twilight sufficiently learned friendship enough that she gained alicornhood.  She will now be teaching the other mane 6 on friendship which could lead to them gaining alicornhood later in the future.

The thing is, Hasbro wants as many "character redesigns" as possible. If season 4 is the last, and the season has no new characters, and no new character designs, Hasbro will not see much additional revenue.  However, if these are introduced, they could have several special editions that will most likely sell a good amount of units.  Basically, adding as many new characters and designs into the season will lead to extra money to Hasbro.  The only negative would be the loss of future sales due to fans not liking the changes or the monetization of the show, however, since the show would be over, that wouldn’t make any difference.  When the series finale comes around, Hasbro has every reason to “ask” or “suggest” for redesigns and therefore new toys to sell.  It is possible for the writers to object to Hasbro, but, since they are quite literally on Hasbro's payroll, it doesn't seem likely.

 

Basically, Hasbro has good reasons to want the rest of the elements to become alicorns, in short: money.

It's really hard to see the mane6 being alicorns. Applejack would look rediculous, Rainbowdash wouldn't be able to join the wonderbolts being an alicorn, Fluttershy would have no use for her magic, Rarity could pull it off, but then there's no unicorns in the group now and she'd only want it for social status perhaps. And God knows what would happen if Pinkie got magic and wings. 

Seeing that there is only one unicorn in the group now, I think a new member will arise with a lost element or something. Perhaps I'm wrong, but if they make others into alicorns all of a sudden, then it'll be like that G3 show, and I'll stop watching it.

Being a princess/alicorn is pretty much a very special thing. Twilight and the other mane 6 don't fit at being alicorns. They were meant to be (sorta) normal ponies who are friends with each other, and all represent an element of harmony. With them being alicorns, that's like telling a biker to pilot an airplane.

you know what?...buck it. since they went through all the trouble of making twilight an alicorn, might as well make them ALL magical princess alicorns. why should twilight get the special treatment anyways, don't they ALL deserve it to some degree? that's it, by the end of the show, i want them all to be alicorns. make it happen, hasbro, we know you want to. think about all the pink princess alicorn toys you could sell, and all the money you would make. and let's face it, a pinkie pieicorn would be the greatest thing ever to happen to the fourth wall. apple jackicorn would be able to work tirelessly and efficiently forever with her powers. fluttercorn would be the loveliest, most kindest graceful princess ever and would be adored by all. rainbow dashicorn would be 20% cooler, and finally, raricorn would look SO fabulous.

and while we're at it, why not make a derpy alicorn? she could be princess of the muffin kingdom. and don't EVEN get me started on all the endless story ideas/plot devices and possibilities of princess big mac. THAT would keep the show interesting and prevent it from getting stale for sure!

I think a better question is why. I mean, Twilight was Celestia's protégé, so it makes sense that once Celestia decided she was ready that she'd either reach the next stage of training, or 'graduate'. Twilight was destined to be royalty.

 

As for the others, their career paths aren't quite so political. The closest one is Rainbow Dash, who desires to join a (potentially) military organization, but that isn't the same. The others don't have an interest in working in the government, much less being in the royal family, so what's the point? It makes no sense - the only reason you'd 'promote' them to Alicorns is because of their role as the Elements, which I doubt is reason enough to do so.

Doing something like this would break so much of the show in my opinion. It would take out a lot of basses and character development for all of the mane 6. Twilight has good reasons for becoming an alicorn, she didn't just become an alicorn because she simply could. Princess Celestia saw the potential in Twilight, she earned the rank of alicorn by seeing things through. Giving the rest of the mane 6 the rank of alicorn would serve no real purpose to it other than pleasing the bronies who want to see their best pony become an alcorn.

Okay, who's read Captain Underpants? The fourth book in that series is about a villain with a humiliating name, so he hatches an evil plot to rename everyone else on the planet with a humiliating name... instead of just changing his own.

 

Same applies here. It would only be issues with fairness that all of the Mane 6 would become alicorns, and if that were the actual issue it would make much more sense to just bring Twilight back to normal again - alicorns are pretty much all-in-one types of pony, it would nullify everypony's special talents. (I wonder whether they're called alicorns because it works like "all"-icorns.)

No. They are great as they are now and I really don't think it's good idea to convert all the mane 6 into alicorns. I mean - Applejack with wings and horn for example? She'd look hilarious. I can accept Twilight becoming an alicorn but converting every pony into one is pointless and would not add anything to the show.

If they do that, it's basically like this:

Alright let's imagine up a automobile we can pretend to put in production for this example. Let's say Ford brings back the Pinto for the 2015 model year. This vehicle is supposed to be as base model as base model gets. That means no leather seats, no power locks, power windows or anything our run of the mill car has these days. Not many would buy this since all that crap like power windows, power locks and AM/FM stereos have become the new "base model".

 

Basically what I'm saying here is over the years, modern convinces such as the power windows, AM/FM radios and other fancy bullshit has become the standard. Try finding a vehicle right off the production line that is as base model as the old 70's Ford Pintos or the Chevy Chevettes for that matter. 

Over the years after everyone just expected that shit to be included in the vehicle, it's not as important. Back then if you're happy ass had a AM and FM radio, you were the cat's meow. Now it's expected. 

 

What I'm sayin' here is it will devalue the term and the ability of the alicorn if every fucker on the block has horns and a wing. Plus, on a unrelated note, how are the ones who don't have either a horn or wings supposed to randomly grow them? And if they can do so, why not just use magic to get them all a fucking magical motorhome that runs on the magic of fucking friendship.

NO. Twilight Sparkle, from the first second of episode one, made it clear she was Celestia’s student. But other than that, it isn’t clear on what her destiny is. For example, Rainbow Dash is set up so she will become a future wonderbolt, Rarity will eventually get her boutique in Canterlot, and Applejack will make the farm prosper. But what about Twilight Sparkle? What was her “destiny” or “future”? Ta-da! I introduce to you Alicorn Twilight. She is Celestia’s student, she is extremely gifted in magic, her special talent is magic… 

 

The other mane six have no reason to become alicorns. All the ponies have some destiny to fulfill, and being an alicorn will not help them with it. But we all knew that Twilight Sparkle was set up to become a princess or an alicorn.

I still don't see why they did that with Twily. And I don't see why they would want to do it with the others.
