Good snacks to eat while on the computer?

Hi, I'm on the computer a lot and was wondering if anyone knew any good snacks to eat while on the computer?

A good snack must be: clean, easily obtainable in large amounts, reasonably healthy, throat-friendly, flavorful, and require little effort in eating.

Examples of bad snack foods to eat while at the computer:

Not clean- Cheetos, because they get your fingers covered with cheese powder and you get your computer all messy.

Not obtainable in large amounts- Foei Gras on crackers with truffles, because that is very expensive.

Not reasonably healthy- Candied bacon dipped in ranch, because that is full of artery-clogging goodness. Yes my friends eat things like these.

Not throat friendly- popcorn, because it's too dry and if you eat large amounts, you can choke while on vent

Not flavorful- supermarket brand unflavored rice crackers for obvious reasons

Require little effort in eating- Jovy fruit rolls, because each time you want to eat a new fruit roll, you must open the packaging, remove the fruit roll from the plastic paper, then peel it off and eat it little by little. Afterwards, you scrape the gunk off your teeth. And all that's for one fruit roll.

Now examples of good snacks that I've already found:

Breadsticks, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, original flavored sunchips, m&m's, quesadillas without ridiculous overkill of cheese, taquitos, bitesize cookies

Any suggested food would be appreciated.

Last year, I had an on and off Sinus Infection for literally 3 months. I was at home sick a lot. Anyway, I was on my iPod nearly all the time watching YouTube. I discovered that pretzels and Gatorade go together quite nicely. I'd eat pretzels and drink Gatorade while watching YouTube. Good times. I'd recommend that.

I usually eat carrots by the handful and/or Hägen Daaz coffee ice cream. Sometimes I drink ginger ale or Mountain Dew Code Red.

This is why I'm thankful for a high metabolism.

I personally run through strawberries, cherry tomatoes and grapes like nobody's business. Raspberries are another vice, but they can easily stain so I think that may go under too messy. And right now it's Girl Scout cookies season, so I'm really favoring me some thin mints...

I usually have sunflower seeds and water. Sunflower seeds are sooo gud, and the water feels very nice after eating a bunch of the sunflower seeds.

I just get regular sunflower seeds though.

Pretzels. They taste fine, keep you full, aren't TERRIBLE for you, and don't make much of a mess. For drink, it's a necessity to have Code Red Dew, because it's Code Red Dew.

Grapes :D. Well actually they would probably make sense as long as your not to messy with them.

Honestly though I'm pretty good at not being messy, so I eat all kinds of things while on my computer. Although mostly cereal at night and stuff.

Pretzels would be a good idea, as long as they're not to salty so they don't rub all over your hands.

Oh and cookies :D. Well if your good at not dropping crumbs everywhere. They're not exactly good for you though so.... Not sure how highly I could recommend that.

As someone with a very limited diet, for health reasons, I have lots of great healthy snacks to use while on the computer. Grapes, almonds, baby carrots, and Twizzlers (it's actually one of the healthier candies) are great examples.

For me a bowl of Kirkland brand Almonds are good enough. I just scoop a small handful from a bowl and snack on them. If not those I usually have one or two mozzarella cheese sticks with a cup orange juice on the side.

I usually eat chips at the computer, with Tostitios chips and salsa a particular favorite, being careful not to drip the salsa onto the computer of course :)

I always got a 2 liter Coca-Cola sitting next to me if I'm gonna be on the computer for a long while. Its the only snack I need.

Although sometimes sour gummy worms or skittles are good too.

?I can recommend 3 pretty good foods:

1. Grapes or Sliced Apples. They are a very healthy choice to get your sweet fix, and require nothing but a small napkin to wipe off any moisture on your hands when they return to the keyboard and mouse.

2. Carrots: If you are in more of a vegetable mood, munching on baby carrots would be a good idea! Again, a simple napkin for moisture would be all you need. Carrots are also good for eyesight over the long run, so who knows...maybe it can help to counter-act they staring of computer screens for a large amount of time!

3. Last but not least, a guilty pleasure of mine:

CI-Wheat-2.gif

Cheese Itz (whole grain kind for added health and flavor). Why? Cheese It'z Are Awesome

Their Awesome

Their Awesome

Their packed with cheese flavor that is irresistible!

But in all seriousness, this particular kind of cheese-it is non powdery, easy to eat, and slightly more healthy than a potato chip if you ask me.

I've only recently discovered Corn Nuts, but they're now my favorite convenience store snack.  They have delicious, savory flavors, can be grabbed by the handful or one at a time, and each bag is filled enough to easily get you twice as much mileage a similarly-sized chip bag.

If I want something slightly lighter and more healthy, almonds are my go-to nut.  The only problem with them is it's really easy for me to spoil my appetite for meals.  If you gave me a kilogram bag of salted almonds, it'd probably be gone within the week.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

a brohoof for this thread even if you dont get answers that fit in all of the above categories, because im an oinker at heart x3

uhh... i usually crunch on pretzel rods dipped in either pub cheese (cheese spread stuff.. either jalapeno and cheddar, port wine and cheddar, or horseradish and cheddar) or nutella, if im in a chocolate mood.  the nutella can get messy though :/  and the pretzels might be too loud for vent, but i love the hard crunch :P

i like a big bowl of dry cereal.  hunny Bs by disney was soo gooodd... and they quit making it >< uhh....honey nut cheerios, the granolas--again i like crunch....smackems (those wheat puff honeyed things with the frog xD) or strawberry/blueberry special k x3  i will scarf these suckers down though before i realize it--without being really hungry :/you can open up a can of fruit in its juices and eat it out of the can with a fork :3 on that note theres beenie weenies (eeeewwwww....."vienna sausages")

trail mixes work ok, but sometimes the salt from the peanuts in em get all over my fingers... OO! dried fruits!  i like the banana slug-looking mangoes ^_^

it kinda depends on your definition of "clean" though too.  i wouldnt eat popcorn at the comp because its greasy, or cheeze-its though i love em, because i get powdery bits on my fingers--this is from a girl that eats her fries with a fork because she doesnt like the way they feel xD  i also salt my apples/watermelons/pineapples to make them sweeter. :/

I've been trying to snack less while on the computer, but as most have already said carrots are a great one! Easy, clean, healthy, good! But carrots don't help with salty cravings, so my back-up snack is usually a bag of pretzel stick.

Tequitos!  I ate spicy chipotle and habanero ones while watching the finale. They go good with any kind of dipping sauce too. If it comes to drinks you can't go wrong with a nice tall glass of chocolate milk.

Any fresh fruits like grapes, fresh cut apples, or bananas are great snacks to eat on the computer. If I feel like going out to the nearby store, I can get myself some chips and a bottle of soda and that's pretty much what I eat on the computer...if I had some extra energy.

Oh, and at the moment as I post this, I have coffee with me. Not...a good thing to drink while on the computer but I am careful!

I hate getting anything messy on my desk, so I avoid fatty food at the PC like the plague. I normally have cereal, being careful not to spill anything, maltbeer, which isnt really a food but whatever, sometimes also tea, cookies, chewing gum and cereal without milk.
