After walking around the temple a bit more to familiarize himself with it he decided to go out into town, he left his weapons and most of his armor at the temple, taking only his cape and a money pouch,  he walked around the city until he saw a stand with a weapon in it

"Very well. It can be arranged that such news is spread in case the town does decide to panic, though knowing this town I can doubt that too."

"I understand that, Emperor," Glory replied. "However, it's best to be planned for such an occasion before it happens, rather than after. The goddess will help me if there's a need to defend the temple from evil; her magic is channeled thru me and I'm sure I'll be equal to such a challenge."

Fire slayer turned towards the palace. "i'm going back into the palace. Again. Perhaps you would..." he coughed awkwardly. "like to have a look around with me? Just a personal tour." he trotted up the stairs and went inside to the throne room.

Vinyl smiled and nodded her head. "Yes, emperor. Though, please forgive me if I am a bit quiet. I can be a bit reserved at times, especially in the presence of such important company as yourself." She followed him up the stairs, then stopped and took out her blade. She pointed it to him, handle first. "I don't feel it is right for me to be armed in your company, so I am entrusting it to you for the time being."

Diamond chuckled and looked at the door leading into the kitchen. "Actually...I never taught her anything. I needed some help around the house after I bought it so I asked if she would be able to come over maybe once a week to just tidy up a bit...and eventually she just kinda stuck with me and came every day...we're the best of friends. I am always trying to get her to come play cards or something but she always comes up with something she needs to do." Diamond chuckled.

Gladius raised an eyebrow. He had never heard of such a thing before.

 

"You mean she doesn't even really work for you? That's pretty unusual. How does she make a living if she spends all her time doing things around your house that she doesn't get paid for?"

Diamond coughed on her water. "I mean *Cough* Sorry. I do pay her but I never really asked her to come more often. I did need some extra help and she just kinda started falling into a routine where we would figure out a good day and I would pay her by the hour...and eventually she just started coming more often because of how busy I was with work, so after a while we agreed that she could come full time and I would pay her by the day...she has the weekend off and she comes her at twelve and leaves at seven. Isn't that right Mrs Sand." She said, smiling at Sand who smiled back as she trotted from the kitchen, levitating two delicious looking bowls of pudding. "I couldn't imagine working for anypony else." She said. "Would you like to join us Sand ?" Asked Diamond.

Sand shook her head. "Sorry Ms Diamond, I need to get home to the foals." She said, picking up a small day bag and heading towards the door. She waved at them, then trotted out the door.

(I consider Sand to essentially be an extension of your character, so I wouldn't be controlling her, no. Also, she isn't really important in terms of the story or anything. Unless you're planning something...)

 

"Well, that sounds like an excellent arrangement for both of you, ma-uh, Diamond."

 

He took a spoonful of the pudding.

 

"This really is delicious. I don't know how you stay so slim when you have food like this available on a regular basis. If it were me, I'd probably have to double my training regimen to make up for it."

Diamond laughed. "I usually don't eat dessert...and when I do I feel incredibly guilty afterwards. But I do have a training regimen...probably not as intense as yours considering you're a guard and a gladiator...but I do yoga, some flying, lots of walking...and swimming. I go for a swim every morning out in the lake." She said, smiling and eating a small spoonful of pudding.

Gladius nodded and his thoughts went back to training her to fight.

 

"Swimming, yes. That's good; it means you should already have strong limbs. It will make training you that much easier. Hopefully you've built up a decent amount of endurance from it as well."

She shrugged. "I am not as fragile as most ponies think...but I am however a very mareish mare...as in I will most likely drop the sword the second you hit it." She chuckled and took a few more small bites of the pudding. She looked off at a spot on the wall, then back at Gladius as if she was about to speak...then she stopped and looked down at her pudding after realizing she didn't know what to say...which was rare.

"You know, that's part of what I respect so much about you. You're very aware and accepting of your flaws. And I also really like that you're as refined and ladylike as you are. I'm almost reluctant to teach you to fight because it might change you."

Diamond laughed. "Its not gonna change me...I have been through allot more than it looks and I am still the same crazy weird mare." She said. "I just feel after what happened...it would be something good to learn." She finished the last small bite of pudding and politely waited for Gladius to finish as well.

Gladius finished almost immediately after she did and stood up, walking across the table and stretching his legs, preparing for their lesson.

 

"Alright, well I guess it's time to get started. I don't suppose you actually own a blade or anything, do you?"

Diamond shook her head and levitated the dirty dishes into the kitchen where she placed them in a large stone sink full of water. She left them there to clean up later then she trotted back into the dining room. "Um no...I do not own a blade." She said, looking across the room at two crossed swords on the wall. "Well...I suppose I do but those are more for show." She said, chuckling.

Gladius looked at the crossed swords and seemed to be lost in thought for a moment.

 

"Ah well, no matter. I think it would probably be best if we started out with some simple hoof to hoof combat, anyway. I hope you didn't just get a hooficure recently." He laughed at this last part.

Diamond laughed. "Not recently." She said, smiling and walking towards a glass door that faced the lake. She pulled it open and stepped outside onto the path which led down to the dock...which was big enough to practice. "I was thinking the dock or the beach would be a good place to practice." She said.

Gladius nodded and walked out alongside her.

 

"Beach is good. It doesn't really hurt to get knocked down in sand. Although it's not the best place to practice footwork, but that's something we can worry about later."

 

He walked out into the middle of the beach and gestured for her to join him.

Diamond nodded and followed Gladius down the small hill to the beach. "So...this may sound like a stupid question...but how many times have you taught somepony else how to fight ?" She asked, curiously. "Not that it really matters of course...I'm just curious." She said.

"Well, I don't know really. I mean, occasionally the captain calls me in to train new recruits, but that's about it as far as people I've taught formally. Then of course there have been plenty of wanna-be gladiators who have come to me for training, and occasionally I actually say yes. But I don't think I've ever taught a mare before, and certainly not one like you."

Magnus continued to examine the weapon, "enchanted by the god of war himself...it doesn't look fake... It is well crafted, this must have a hefty price on it" he picked up and held it " I am interested but" he put it back "I don't have much money on me, such a shame, but I am still interested"

¨dont worry, its just for 3 coins¨ he said talking to this mysterious new pony that apparently know how tridents are crafted 'hope hes not that good with tridents or it will be harder... But we need that griffon gone from here' he thought for a moment and just waited for the reply.

Magnus got suspicious "such a great item and only 3 coins? How do I know you aren't selling me a scam or a cursed item?" Something wasnt right, this offer was too good to be true, he of course needed the trident, but he could risk buying a cursed item, that would be bad indeed
