Which villain would you like to return in Season 4?

Title says it all, which villain do you think should return for S4?

 

For me, it's gotta be Chrysalis. The pattern would fit perfectly: She comes back for revenge with new strength and powers, brings the whole Changeling Army (which has doubled since the first attack), manages to infiltrate Canterlot disguised and while the Army deals with the royal guard, Chrysalis deals with Cadance and Shining Armor separately, making sure to avoid any mistakes she made the first time round. In fact, firstly she sucks the love out of SA, leaving him powerless, and just as she begins on Cadance, Celestia manages to get a letter out to Twilight. However, the fatal flaw in Chrys's plan is that she is unaware that Twilight was recently coronated a princess, and knows how to create new magic, giving her the ability to either destroy Chrysalis entirely or free her from her corrupted state, revealing her to be either Starswirl the Bearded or a long-lost relative of Tia and Luna. . From there, the ending's pretty obvious, but I think it would be great for the 3 parter. Anyway, enough from me. Fellow bronies, lay it on. Who do you want to see return to take on Twilight?

Although she really wasnt a villain, i want to see Gilda come back. But now that i think about it Sombra needs some redemption. I mean he only got 2 lines of actual dialogue. There needs to be more done for him. His backstory was good but the episode he was in seemed rushed.

I want to see more of sombra. Chrysalis would be cool, but she really only has one goal, and that's to feed off of other's love, and that might get a tad redundant.

Sombra, on the other hand, could be a villain of many sorts.

And I would love to see him fight with discord. Raw power of evil, versus raw power of random. Epic.

Definitely! Queen Chrysalis is a fairly standard villain, but she's a changeling, and changelings can make for some interesting antagonists. I'd like to see how changeling society functions, especially given their insectoid nature. Are they a hive mind a la the Zerg or Tyranids, or do they think independently of each other? Would one perhaps defect to the pony side? It would be great to see how the ponies interact with the changelings, whether it be in friendship or enmity. We barely got to see the changelings in the season 2 finale, so I'd love to see some development for both Chrysalis and the changelings as a whole.

I also want to see some more of King Sombra. He's implied to be dead at the end of The Crystal Empire, but it's a shame how much wasted potential was lost. King Sombra was a completely unremarkable villain, doing nothing but giving silly one-liners and laughing evilly in the few times we see him. A smarter, more active, and better developed Sombra can be a fearsome villain indeed.

I want Trixie to come back as a villainess.  She actually had her hooves crossed behind her back when she apologized and begged for redemption, because she is in fact a world-class actress. I really like her in the Ace Attorney crossover; I'd like to see her use some brains like she does in that. That'd be awesome. Big, two parter plot against Ponyville!

 

Also, Discord should be a villain still.

Why would she be a villain? 

 

Literally, what would she have to gain from it.   She wasn't even a villain to begin with, only once her mind was corrupted by an evil amulet did she actually do "villain" like things.    She is just a pony who has an ego, when she lost her means of supporting herself (Because of twilight)  she was willing to give everything,  as she no longer had anything to lose.    

 

Now she's back and in the positive,......so she has no reason what so ever to be a villain.

I wanna see the changelings return, so far Chrysalis has been my favorite villain and I would really like to see the changeling concept expanded on, like maybe showing what it's like living in a changeling hive.

I would certainly like to see a return of Chrysalis. As the OP said, a revenge story on her part. I could see that happening. I would also like to see King Sombra come back. Hopefully he was not completely destroyed, as it is implied that he is destroyed. Would be nice to see a potential villain that is just evil. He was just there, then gone.

Perhaps Sombra returns, see's that Chrysalis wants revenge, and uses her to his gain. I think that would make an interesting villain story arch. Chrysalis thinks Sombra will help her, but he instead just uses her and her army so he can get what he wants.

I'd like to see Chrysalis return so that they can expand on the changeling culture and maybe even their history as well. Changelings are one of the most interesting creatures in the FiM universe for me especially since their parasitic nature paints them in a negative light. I would take Chrysalis and changelings over any of the other villains.

If not then I'd have to pick I guess Chrysalis, I mean she'd be the one to make the most sense, while sombra is pretty cool I'm not sure how logical his return would be.

 

I want some new villians in S4 though, thats a for sure, not that I doubt them showing up though .

The Changelings, for sure. Chrysalis is badass and her army is the only source of expendable punching bags that the Mane 6 can wail on. And all this forum talk of "Changeling Culture" and what-not has got me interested.

As awesome as Tirek and Grogar are, I think they've already been on the show in some form (eternal night, tyrannical king with dark magic who was banished to realm of shadow, taking an entire city with him, etc., etc.).

I'm not trying for a got-cha, I legitimately want you to explain your reasoning so I can better understand it.  Why would her being hate-filled, and trying to ruin Twilight/other ponies lives be better, or more interesting that her just being antagonistic.

I'd like to see that British bloke Pip come back, he was by far the most fearsome of the villains that were fought by the mane six throughout the series, and fighting him could be a good way to show Twilicorn's true powers.

I suppose I don't see it as being so dramatic as using terms like "hate-filled." I guess I would just genuinely like to see her act antagonistic rather than be a slightly antagonistic pony, which is what she might be if she came back, given how we last see her in her last ep. How can she be interesting as a good guy? She'd probably come across as a cross between Luna and Rainbow Dash, and we already have a Luna and a Rainbow Dash.  Conflict is interesting. Everyone getting along is not.

I dunno ,  take Lightening Dust for instance.  She was easily one of the most interesting and likeable ponies,  amazed the fans didn't keep her going.  Regardless, she wasn't a villain but her conflict was way deeper than Sombra, Nightmare Moon, or Evil Trixie.    Heck she even stirred a second ending among the writers. 

 

Villains are usually much more one sided.  They're evil,  they're there to do evil things generally to the Mane 6.
