On Discord apperance, id see a Anime-esque Badboy. Silver hair styled like Princess Rosalina's, a dark red trenchcoat, black shirt, green cargo pants and boots. The animal parts would be simpler, a lion paw for a right hand, reptilian foot for the left foot, and bat wings for.....well, wings.

I find this to be hilarious and very wonderful! If only it were true though... I don't think this is how the producers would convey peace with the human world. I know this might sound ridiculous, but I see the show being like the "Care Bears" or "Bratz" considering how childish the animations and previews look so far. They'll go into the human world as the Mane 6 alone. They'll be friends with the humans and they'll plant the ability to love and care as they do on Earth. It was mentioned that Celestia sent only the Mane 6 on this quest.

Honestly, this seems more as if it should be more of a fanfiction than a show.

I'm not much of a fan of seeing the ponies as humans. Its weird..

Anyways, its really up in the air as to how the show will really end up going. It could be slightly interesting I guess, maybe good or even decent, or they could screw up massively and it'll suck, unfortunately we don't really know.

 

I'm going to stay open minded to this like with MLP, but I'm not riding on any high hopes it'll be great . I still will check it out, atleast for an episode.

If you've seen, there is a rumor of a MLP: FiM Spinoff 'Equestria Girls', depicting the Mane six and more as human high school girls. Im kinda ambivilent on this thing, but I want to say what the possible plot and what the characters would be in a high school enviorment.

Sorry, but I'd have to rate it at about zero. In the initial announcement, it's stated that Princess Celestia sends the mane six to another world, where they have to take on human form. This isn't going to be an alternate existence for them, where they were born on Earth. They are sent there for a reason that has not been disclosed yet. Frankly, I think it has better odds that they are sent to find Trixie, who left Equestria after Twilight became a princess. They may have to stop her from becoming this other world's ruthless ruler!

OT: anyway I really wouldn't take EG very seriously no matter how dumb or ugly these EG characters look nobody's going to remember them. People will remember the original Scootaloo, the orignial Rainbow Dash, and etc. The original MLP:FiM characters are legendary at this point and these cheap knock offs have nothing on them.

With Equestria Girls, i'm not ambivalent about it more so than I want to see it just bomb.  Don't know/understand my cynical hate towards the show, but I just don't like it no matter how much I look at it.  The character's concept designs look like a rip off from another show, as to what show i'm unsure, and the plot of going to the human world just reeks of unimaginative ideas like a last minute ditch effort by a group of Hasbro execs pulling an all nighter that was fulled by Mountain Dew and Pixie Sticks.  (Sugar Rush works for Pinkie Pie, for adult humans it leads to bad, bad thoughts)

 

Think it's spike's concept as a dog that really angered me the most, seeing it as an attempt at a MLPFIM branded Sabrina: The Teenage Witch cartoon rip off. 

 

 

As for a plot, I just hope to sweet Celestia it's not my cynical idea of a princess being found in the human world and it's the job of Twilight and the others to bring her back.

Now that Spike becomes a dog he would end up like The Beast from The Sandlot in an episode like Secret of My Excess, and Scootaloo a real chicken.

Equestria Girls plot? Since they are all becoming humans in the spin-off, I do not think that is grammatically correct. Maybe "Equestria Girls buttocks" would be a better fitting title.

Frankly, when to comes to writing the plot for this spin-off, I would've simply had much of the story involve the Mane 6 somehow coming to Earth as humans and trying to adjust to life here while also trying to figure out a way to get back home.

 

Plus, there's alot of fish-out-of-water aspects you can work with in comparing life in Equestria for Ponies to life of Earth for humans, I think you could fit entire episodes around that.

Wouldn't it be funny if the 'mane 6' girls we saw in the picture were actually human magical girls in some sort of transformed state, and the mane 6 ponies are still ponies but transported from Equestria to Earth due to some sort of disaster or takeover by a bad guy?  In a scenario like this, the ponies become like Luna and Artemis from Sailor Moon.  They're the mentor figures, but of course, they also have their own personalities and quirks to add to the table.  So that makes the plot more interesting, seeing how they deal with modern day Earth, while trying to stop whatever evil force is threatening their world (and potentially Earth).
