My first signatures, any thoughts?

Hello, I have produced my first 2 signatures ever! They are not the best things ever, but I was wondering on which one you guys think looks better?

Or the 2nd one?

Do keep in mind these are my very first attempts, so any input would help! Thanks for taking the time to help me decide, or improve these sigs.

I would say the second one.

The problem with the first one is that nothing stands out enough. In the second one, that image of Suiseiseki (I hope I didn't just spaghetti) stands out, and with the mix of nice colours in the background, it makes for a more well-balanced signature. It's important there's not too much of something in a signature (or any piece of art, really), and there's just too much green and transparency in the first one.

Also, in the first one, the image on the right is all squished. Never ever ever scale things down without scaling them to the same ratio, or else it's just all... eugh. s:

However, get rid of the little black bar on the right of the second signature, and use that one. It's nice.

Okay cool, thanks for your insight and advice, I'll keep that in mind next time. All new to the entire process, and these two took a few hours on their own XD. The black bar was supposed to be a boarder, I guess I didn't get it right :X.

Wow, those are your first attempts... Awesome! Personally I like the second one the best because it does a better job at making everything stand out.

Cheers man!

Thank you, I spent quite a bit of time looking at other signatures, and some tutorials, so I had a basic idea of what I wanted to try to do. But limited knowledge of the paint.net hindered me a bit. But I'll get better with time, and with more skill with the program.

They both are quite good, but in my opinion, I'd have to go with the second.

I feel like the first one is missing some form of accent, something that stands out in a subtle way (like the picture on the right in the second sig).

Green always seems to be a hard colour to work with from what I've seen. If these are only you're first two, I'll be in true shock to see what you make when you're a pro :D

I used Paint.net to make them. It took some time to get used to due to troubles separating images from backgrounds, but I seemed to pull through. Took maybe 3-4 hours just to finish them both.

Here is another one I am in the process of working on. For some reason the text blended in more than I thought it did, it would be clearer to see in it's finished product. But yeah this is my 3rd Sig featuring Clare from Claymore. I notice I am doing a bit of multi-image signatures, I think my next one will be a bit of a different style...

Anywho, enjoy and offer any critique on this signature's draft.

Nice, you use the same program I use! You should consider downloading some add-ons for it.

Overall for your third try, it is still impressive. You should try to play with the blending with the Clare render to the right, maybe use overlay and multiple slides of her, and soften the edges of the picture.

Hmmm, I didn't think of doing that! I'll try that with clare to see how it looks :3. Also what add-ons would you recommend for it? Still new to it XD.

Thank you for linking that, it has shown some very unique results for some of my prototype signatures! img-1339000-1-biggrin.png I look forward to learning how to use these tools effectively.

*EDIT*

I have finished up 2 more drafts for signature possibilities.

And

img-1339000-3-suiseisekifiresignature.jp

They, like my others are a work in progress, and are slightly branching off from what I had started with as I experiment with different tools.

Wow, you make me jelly laugh.png

For a beginner, your sigs are better than some I've seen from people that have been doing it for a while. Very impressive.

I especially like the lighting on the second banner. How are you liking the plug-ins I recommended?

I LOVE THEM! They made those 2 newest signatures possible with the new effects and other tools the plug-ins included. Made for generating certain effects I wanted easier, and to make new ones I didn't think of before. I love feather a lot XD.
