@_@ Discordian had a rough day. Got up at 2, went to Labor Works, got work at 12:30 in a warehouse, twisted lotion bottle caps on for about four hours and then cleaned up and then FINALLY got to go home...with a two hour walk home. I'm beat. >_<

 

Though there were a few good parts. For the first few hours I was at LW I talked with someone and then after he left I was quiet until I went to the warehouse and worked with a person who made a lot of sexual jokes using ONLY euphemisms, it was funny. I even cracked a joke of my own when he said he was "learn'd" by his wife. I said "Whipped or homeless, right?" and that cracked everyone nearby up for like ten minutes.

 

Overall good day though.

lol I was like that too until I had to start going to Labor Works. A few days doing that and my sleep schedule flipped back to "normal"

 

At this point, I'm almost certain I could take any shift and actually be able to stay awake during it no matter how early or late it is.

 

 

I honestly trash my Game Informers, I mostly get it cause I like the points system.

 

I keep all of mine but I don't particularly read them. The first thing I flip to is the top ten of the month and then flip through for a few interesting things, maybe a review or two, then I'm done and never touch them unless I need a specific piece of information.

I just think that the printed medium for video game journalism is dead. Id much rather watch gameplay and assess the game from there.

Tis usually what I do but they do have some unique articles to read that aren't usually found elsewhere.

 

Plus the top ten is usually pretty cool (as long as it doesn't involve sports games, that is) and it's always very different than Gamefaqs' top ten.

Well thats Gamefaqs. Id hold GI a bit higher than GF. Usually I only trust my own judgement or my fellow goons judgement.

Me too. I hate reviews for the sole reason that they are an opinion that tries to make itself sound like fact. I only use reviews to get info but I never let them color my view on something before, or after, I've played or seen it.

I don't trust any for-profit review site or magazine at all. Most of them rely on the companies they are supposed to review the games by for advertising, and why would a company shell out extra cash for the full two page spread in GI if the reviewers recently gave an honest review about how bland their game is.

 

I decide what games to buy from word of mouth, comments by regular people on forums and image boards, and plain ole research.
