My quest to learn a second language led me once to learn Russian. I never got that far with it, so all I know is the alphabet. And that's my policy with other languages I want to know something about: if I don't have the time to learn a foreign language, I'll instead learn its writing system. Heck, it worked with Arabic (except there's a ton of diacritical marks that they use as vowels that I still am trying to untangle), and it may also work with Korean and Greek. Heck^2, I can even (almost) write phonetic English using only the Greek alphabet.

Yeah. Russian's got like twice as many vowels than English (unless you somehow count Y and W as vowels), Japanese has three different writing systems, two syllabaries where every consonant is always paired with a vowel and one logography based off of Chinese loanwords, Korean is said to be the easiest writing system to learn, and here's the nuts part: The Latin alphabet, the one that gave rise to all of the other Latin-based writing systems in the world, has a very convoluted history... But I think Icelandic is the perfect marriage between Runic writing and Latin writing, because it's the only alphabet in the world that still has the letters thorn and eth: Þþ (thorn) and Ðð (eth), which makes the two separate TH sounds in "thick/thin" and "this/that".

oh this isn't just about an RP... its a fic.... this would be the ending to book two.... or at least a sample... I'm definitely going to alter it when the time comes...

I lied there starring at the sun I could barely move but I was too weak to get up. I used what strength I had left and turned my head towards Rave. He wasn't moving either. Then that means I have succeed and saved Equestria, but I doubt I'll be saved this time. blood filled up my mouth and I was starting to choke on it. This was it. I've met my match and I'm going to be reunited with my sister at long last. Snowflake noticed bright light and a figure coming from it. was it my sister he thought. No Snowflake had never seen em before... the figure came closer it was an Alicorn but like none he had ever encountered.... maybe Rave wasn't bluffing when he mentioned his parents not being regular ponies... though it didn't matter Snowflake had a gut feeling she was here to avenge her son... but he didn't care he was already a dead stallion. To his surprise he was casted away with Rave to some outland where his wounds were healed. Snowflake then asked why would you save me? She then replied... to serve me... the image I saw was no longer an alicorn... words cannot express what I saw... but it was then on that day I went from an assassin to a guardian of some creature... and with Rave by my side Equestria would be rightfully theirs...

 

 

AH this is such chicken scratch.... believe me it will be a lot better when I actually write the story

sure but this is only book two... I've not even released book one... and I've been writing that since I was 15... but book one is coming close to being done

I hated storywriting so much back in high school; that distaste still resonates in me today and it's never gotten better...

oh you guys are gonna hate me for this... remember when I said that was going to be book two.... well now its going to be book three.... I'm probably going to be making a story for Snowflake and Rave to establish a better relationship between the two of them.... so when book three comes and Rave betrays Snowflake it hits him on a more personal level....

 

damn, you guys are getting me in a real good mood to write.... inspiration is going by me left and right  ...
