Greetings, fellow ponies!

I was rewatching Bridle Gossip and stumbled upon a piece of background music that sounds remarkably similiar to one of the most beloved songs of the finale. Here, have a sample:

 

 

Now, according to credits for both Bridle Gossip and Magical Mystery Cure, this music seems to be made by two different people that mutually exclude each other. Who is it, then?

 

What do you think about this? As a side question, is it a well-known fact? It is something that wasn't discovered until now, for some reason? Do I just hear things?

This radically changes everything I thought I knew about the series.

 

For you see, this reuse of music conveys a moment of thematic similarity, and the theme of the latter event was of the characters being thrown into despair because of shattered destinies.
