Hmmm... So what subgenres do you mainly listen to? I've been getting into Swedish death metal lately, I actually prefer it over Norwegian black metal now.

While I'm here, I may as well say that Chuck Schuldiner gets too much praise. This ties back into the "worshiping the dead" thing I touched on a while ago, but people credit him with inventing death metal, which is insane; Possessed were around for a while before Death came into the picture, and Chuck credited Possessed with the creation of death metal.

I got the album Back in Black by AC/DC a long time ago, and I swear, at least half the album was EXTREMELY BORING. Isn't that album supposed to be like the second best selling album of all time or something???? Geez, talk about overrated.

I like Gothic Metal, Alternative Metal & Symphonic Metal :3 Like Within Temptation, which is one of my favorite bands. Other than that, idk.

As you probably know, I LOVE Death. While I think that he was a very talented individual, being both a great guitarist and vocalist, I'm going to agree with you on the whole "worshiping the dead" thing. Weather Death invented death metal is debatable IMO. I consider Seven Churches to be the first ever death metal album, but if you listen to Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy it feels like Death took some major leaps forward with the genre.

Yea... I don't. The only Gothic metal band I like is Type O Negative. Symphonic metal just isn't my thing, I find it boring most of the time.

Popularity definitely doesn't equal talent, anyone who thinks that is really stupid.

 

And yeah I don't get why people worship a certain musician like they were the greatest thing ever just because they died. And the stupid fanboys don't shut the fuck up about it and it makes the regular fans of the band look bad. It's fucking annoying.

Ahh, I love you too. I got into screamo and metalcore recently, but I've like post-hardcore and emo for over a year now.

Bro, there's YouTube and ThePirateBay. They're both free and easy to use. You can also use Pandora to find other bands. I'm 15, I don't have a job, I can't afford to buy a bunch of CDs either.
