Spongebob the Movie is on right now and I haven't seen it in YEARS. Now that I'm watching it again I got a few questions I want us to speculate on:

 

-What happened to the Krust Krab 2

-Why did Neptune look different

 

I'm thinkin that the Neptune design was changed because maybe Nick was working with someone else but then why change it? And then why not keep it?

 1. You're right! I've never thought about what happened to the Krusty Krab 2. Maybe it was torn down because they though it would bring trouble?

 

2. It was 1999 when Neptune was introduced. Maybe they wanted it to be realistic and give him change? But I was wondering that.

Weird topic to be brought up, but alright!

 

1.) Good point! However, I guess the main reason for that is that the movie was not cannon, meaning it's not part of the series.

 

2.) The animators wanted to try something different with the designs of the movie, that's why they look more cartoonish and out of character throughout the film.

So here's what's up. The Spongebob movie is TECHNICALLY the series finale of spongebob. All the episodes afterward were technically prequels.

 

As for neptune dunno.

1. They got rid of the Krusty Crab 2 because, I guess it was only to be used in the movie and not the show.

 

2. The creators wanted to at least change Neptune for animation reasons.

1. Just think. Does anything that ever happens in Spongebob effect anything later? No, it doesn't. Each episode is a standalone story with no lasting effect on the others. If that was to happen, we'd probably have no more Krusty Krab, Squidward would probably be homeless, Plankton would be dead, etc.

Neptune looks different because the animators wanted to try something new. Even Spongebob's gone through a slight design change since the beginning of the show. If they can make the changes to someone, they probably will just to keep people interested. Plus, Neptune's old appearance wasn't as grand and extravagant as his newer one is.
