Hope: An Amputee Pony

I shall support this idea as it is excellent and not overly controversial. It would be an excellent medium that could translate to any kind of difference or disability. I could see it succeed where Derpy failed(got booted) in teaching that differences are okay.

Glad we have another supported. I too, was dissapointed that Derpy got booted. A bit unfair in my opinion to Derpy. Hopefull, Hope will have better luck.

Hey, that sounds like a great idea for a story and all. It seems a little difficult to portray in the show though. I don't think they should ever air that because having a prosthetic in real life is really something else. People who have a prosthetic tend to be insecure about stuff like that.

 

Before when I was in grade 10 there was someone at my school with a prosthetic in his seniors, but he always tried concealing it with baggy clothing or track pants. I can't imagine that he was open about having a fake leg. I don't blame them, anyone with a prosthetic. I'm blessed for having all my body parts. And I can't conclude how hard it would be a Brony watching an episode like that. It might be a little too much, especially, because it would broadcasted to it's intended audience.

 

I can't help to conclude that would be a horrible episode for people who share an insecurity of having a prosthetic. I don't want to make your idea sound bad, it can teach a good lesson! I just don't think it would be a wise business idea. I do like the idea of myself, but I'm trying to think how someone may feel about something like that. Is there anyone who agrees with me?

Gotta be honest, I don't like the name "Hope".  A name like that draws attention to her disability, even if it's in a "positive" way. 

 

IMO, the best, most fair way to portray a disabled character is to portray them just like anyone else, with their own quirks and personality aspects that have nothing to do with them being disabled.

I'm rather iffy on the idea. With the whole Derpy event that happened, things like these feel...Rather...Um. I don't know. Negative...? Eh.

I don't wanna sound mean, or seem like I'm negatively discriminating at amputees. I just think it'll bring a bunch of people freaking out at the fandom again.
   I guess if the character brought little-to-no attention to her trouble, then I think it'd be fine. Just...Not centered around it. Y'know? So what? She has a prosthetic leg. She's still a normal pony like everypony else. I mean, maybe she could point it out, and tell how she has to do things differently, but not have it brought on negatively. It would possibly make people who has prostetic limbs feel...Insecure, if you will. 
 Oh, and sorry, but the name kinda bugs me.. It pulls focus to her disability, which brings on a negative light in my opinion. ( Even if it's not supposed to, sorry.) It's a tad typical, too..

I personally didn't like Snowdrop. So...Yeah. Besides, if they just came up with something focusing on a blind pony, and then coming with this...I dunno... Besides, everyone can do special things, and everyone has their own troubles. I feel it's a bit eh to push forth the ones with a certain difference.  A lot of people do this with many things, even other people, and it feels negative.

Well, actually, I don't draw the body.

On deviantART there are these pictures called "bases". For ponies, bases are just bald ponies (no mane or tail). I recolor the base and add the mane and tail as I wish.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. The idea seems good, but it feels to much like Snow Drop. I feel like the story would be the same if they made this. The other thing that bothers me is the name.
