Opinions on Feld0--Know Your Brony

Hi there! 
Today I wanted to take a poll on your opinions of Feld0 for the purpose of his upcoming spot on my Youtube series, "Know Your Brony." 

So what I'm asking of you is for your opinions of him as an admin, a creative, a friend, anything. 
I also want to know what it is you think of him. What you want to know about him. What you want him to know. Anything goes, as long as it pertains to Feld0.

In seriousness, I think he's great. I think he's the first forum admin I've ever come across that is actually worshiped as a deity, so guess that says a lot about him.

Feld0, honestly, is the nicest forum admin I have ever met. I haven't talked to him very much, but I certainly appreciate the time he has spent chatting it up with me. There are quite a few places I've been where such a convo would have never happened because I am a 'lowly peon' so to speak, and he is the main pony. For an 18 year old, he's down to earth, super considerate, passionate about what he does, and just a straight-up nice person. Whatever negative facets linger in his personality, he does a great job keeping them the hell away from the MLPForums.

 

What else is there to really say here? The guy has put in countless hours for the brony community and delivered arguably the friendliest forum I have ever seen in my time online. Certainly, the community itself has a lot to do with that, but it's got to start somewhere. I'm a cynical, sarcastic, jackass of a physicist; I don't go throwing around my respect lightly. I respect Feld0. Nuff said.

Well, I believe we all know he's the one who made all this possible... Having created the forums, he and his partners have earned eternal respect from us bronies. But, apart from that, people should know that he's a really nice person aswell. Helpful, smart, nice, these are just few of the words that could describe him.

 

He's a determined guy, with a goal.

Feld0 knows his stuff when it comes to tech. He knows quite a lot about that subject from what I've seen, and not only that, he is very fun person to talk to. He, having created the forums, is very deserving of the praise he gets.

Feld0 is really one of the most nicest forum admins that you could ever meet. Very skilled with codes, and technological know how besides (Key Gear). I really think that ever since he created the forums, he knew that his dream would become a reality.

He really is a generous person who could brighten up your day if your ever down.

I highly respect Feld0. He's very intelligent, reasonable, friendly, and cool. I really think with the skills and work ethic he has, he's going to be one of the most successful people of our generation. I greatly appreciate the hard work he does on this forum, and the few interactions I've had with him have all been pleasant. He's wonderful.

 

PS So you do videos focusing on different bronies? That's really cool! Are you going to do random people on the forums or are you just focusing on very popular ones? Subscribed

From what I've seen of him, he seems like a good admin. Never actually contacted him or anything, but I've seen how he is with the members and he hasn't been a jerk as far as I can tell. He actually reminds me of one of the admins on My Crystal Empire. Always trying to help better the forum in any way possible and both are great to be around. Keep up the good work, Feld0!

I haven't really interacted with him much aside from this one time he cleared up this confusion I had about copyright and patent laws a few months back when Fighting is Magic got the boot and I do of course appreciate that but I do of course appreciate all the work he has put into creating and maintaining this site. There are many other things he could be spending his time on but he chose to spend a great deal of it to create something great for all of us and for that I am very grateful.

You know, it's probably hard to get an accurate poll/thread on what people think of Feld0. He's pretty much universally respected here, of course, but votes or comments involving genuine concerns do run the risk of unreasonable ostracization from the community. I'm not saying it will happen, but I feel that it will discourage some from making their opinions heard. Also, I didn't vote, because I don't believe any of the choices fairly represent Feld0 as a person. 

 

Anyway, I do admire Feld0. He's a friendly, intelligent, and passionate man. To say that he's merely accomplished is to belittle the effort needed to simultaneously maintain such a large community and fulfill IRL obligations (he runs multiple sites, including one of the largest brony sites in existence, and is a Chancellor's Scholar at a prestigious university!). The best thing about him, however, is that he never lets his talents and achievements get to his head. He's humble when praised, he's involved with the community, and he's approachable as a person. Even though I have, admittedly, felt I was talking to a superior whenever we crossed paths, Feld0 always tries to treat his members as individuals rather than as numbers. He wants us to see him as human. I feel that this human element is his greatest strength, even beyond his abilities as a programmer. It makes him more than an administrator. It makes him a leader.  

 

Yes, I know this totally sounds like I'm sucking up to him, but let me tell you--I'm not. I've been a member of many online communities throughout the years (and I'm still part of some of them). I have never praised, spoken to, or even acknowledged the administrators or moderators (much less the webmaster himself) on many of these sites. Some of the smaller ones were different, yes, but none were as large as MLP Forums. At most sites, the admins hovered above us. They were distant, disconnected, and unapproachable. They were not men of the people, as Feld0 and the other staff are. It was even hard to see them as humans, frankly.

 

To me, it doesn't matter if it's just a public facade (for all I know, Feld0 and the staff could be laughing at us peasants from behind the scenes). I won't pretend to know him on a personal level, either, because that's not the point. He certainly has many flaws that I cannot see. What's important is that he and his team do an excellent job keeping morale high, the conflict low, and promoting unity among the thousands of members of the community. And they do it in a manner that doesn't compromise their humanity. And--

Feld0 is a really awesome dude, I only get to talk to him on rare occasions since hes normally busy, but hes a really chill and down to earth dude, hes not cocky about his position as the head admin or something, and he has a nice sense of humor, plus hes a very dedicated programmer for the site, and just an awesome guy in general.

 

Definitely my favorite site owner I think I've ever known. The fact hes such a cool guy actually makes me not get that intimidating feeling I get from most site creators and such, or heck even the mods on other sites give me that, but on here they don't, I dunno exactly why, they just feel more down to earth I guess.

 

So yeah, Feld0 is a really skilled and awesome dude. Without him I wouldn't know all these awesome people here!

As I've spent more and more time on these forums, I've discovered that he's a cool, nice, helpful guy who knows a lot about the art of programming. He's the best administrator and owner of any forum I've ever been on.

Feld0 is awesome just for making this website. He and everyone else who work so hard for this site deserve all the praise they get. I really wish I could talk to him and get to know him more but he's probably too busy and already gets enough messages as it is. I wouldn't wanna be a burden to him or anyone else who runs the site. So all I can say right now is thank you Feld0. One big brohoof to you and anyone else who helps or has helped out the site.

I've personally known Feld0 for many years before this site.

 

I met him on a forum that no longer exists in about '07 or so. To put it simply: He's a really nice guy who is incredibly smart and technical. He's also a great admin to have for forums like these. I honestly don't think I've met anyone online who is as great as Feld0 is.
