The topics we find interesting or worth our time by just the title.

Thats something I been wondering about, how many of you guys Look or judge a topic discussion by just the title? does the Title of a topic affect or interests you enough to have a look?

 

For example, Someone starts a topic about how the CMC will still be together despide already having they're cutie marks.

 

As a title you would probably put something like "The CMC's Cutie marks" or "CMC's Talents", Those are good titles but they are very very common resulting in people thinking its something they already discussed or already read about and reached a conclusion about, Wouldn't it be better if you made a Creative Topic like "CMC's 5 Years later" or "Future CMC's Adventures"

 

we obviously want people to look into our topics and want friends and the people in this forum to disscuss and share they're opinions about the matter, but how will people take interest in your topic if the Title of the topic dosen't Sound like an interesting topic to talk about? I do it all the time to be honest! I look in the Resently disscussed topics and when I see something thats old or something that dosen't sound interesting I just ignore it and keep doing what I was doing before coming to the site again and see if anything new has come up.

 

so what do you Guys think? Do the Titles affect how you look or discuss every topic in this forum? I take it very seriously, The title of a topic is what attracts me into every thread this forum has to share.

The topics are the #1 factor of me deciding what thread I enter. I don't see why it wouldn't be.

 

I'm not going to enter a thread that says, "XXX i luv bitchs <3 NSFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**************" for obvious reasons.

A thread like, "I tried to pony" in an art section, though, probably. I usually glance at all the art, but don't find much impressive, so I just exit from the thread quickly.

Well, yeah. If the title if a thread isn't interesting, I'm not gonna look at if. If the title is interesting, I will look at it. It isn't exactly rocket science.

Eh, the title may make the topic go higher on my list of topics I post in, but generally speaking I still end up posting in most of the topics anyways.

 

Obviously to some extent the topic's title is going to determine if someone wants to check it out. So flashy or catchy titles are more appealing.

Well, I guess it depends on the wording, or what it's exactly about. Or it can be based on the fact that the viewer likes the kind of topic. 

 

For example, if there's a title saying ' NEW PONY OF MANE SIX IS INTRODUCED!' Of course I'll wanna check it out to see what's up! Or for me personally, all it has to say is....

Then I'll automatically check it! Or usually a title appeals to someone if it a fun discussion topic, or something that would be fun to talk about, or share your opinion about. If I see a topic that I would love to share my opinion about, that interests me too! It's threads like those that are interesting to see....and I love hearing everyone else's opinion! So yeah, really depends on the actual topic, who it appeals to, and how it's worded.

Yeah, the title of the topic is the exact same as the title of  book, or show. If it is interesting, it generates views and comments. If not then it gets exactly that. 

 

My only exception to this, is when I am looking at fan-art. Sometimes I feel like just going into the "0 replied" ones to offer something helpful for your work. (It sucks not getting reply on what to improve )

Yeah, I usually go through threads in General Discussion, looking for something interesting, and hardly finding a thing. That's why I'm usually in Forums Games.

Actually, that's what I was doing just then. This thread seemed interesting, so now I post. Makes sense. XD

Hmm, good question! It really depends I suppose....if I've already treaded a certain issue so many times already, I'm not really going to get involved in it again, unless there's a big reason to do so. The certain someone in my avatar is an example....like or dislike, I'm not really up to going into something again for the nth time, just because I think anything you can rationally say on it, has already been said.
