Now for some retarded reason, I didn't watch the Brave Little Toaster, but I watched it one night and I LOVED it. It was like a love letter to my childhood. My favourite character is Kirby the vacuum. Do you any of you bronies and pegasisters remember this movie?

Here's a clip of my favourite song of the movie, City of Light (sorry if its too cheesy for you)

Wow; I always thought that I was one of the only guys on this Earth that knew knew about TBLT lol

Definitely a pretty good movie, but exceptionally dark as far as children's films are concerned. Some parts of it scare the crap outta me to this day.

Staring beyond; up past the moon - - - will we reach the stars yet soon?

Met quick with loss; no sure response - - - men reach up high with their thoughts.

How high it goes; still no one knows - - - the likes of which search thick in droves.

Yet looking far; up near the stars - - - truth knows no better than we are.

With silver thread; and clouded head - - - blissful 'neath the darkened dune.

Oh I loved this movie when I was little!!!! I actually just recently watched it on Netflix, and yes it is a little cheesy, but childhood memories... you know...

I also remember that sequel where they go to Mars.

Plus the controversial prequel where it's World War 2 analogue and an even moustachioed spatula is locking up all the undesirable utensils in death cupboards.

I LOVE it!!!!!!!!
I remember watching those as a kid.  And although I personally only like the first one, it was good as heck!
((I was actually thinking of making a topic on this, but I didn't want my rep to go down for such a post.  So, I am glad you did this for me :3))

Oh god the feels and memories man. I used to love watching those when I was younger. I haven't seen them in years and just a couple weeks ago, I happen across the full movie on Youtubes and I said "Oh hay yes i'm watching this!" I wasn't as fond of the later ones but the first one was my absolute favorite. My favorite character would have to be Kirby the vacuum. He and I have like the same personality happy.png.

This has always been (and still is) one of my favourite movies. Love the characters, story, and music in this. And yes, rather dark in places but not stupidly so. I've lost count how many times I've seen it, practically memorised it at this point but I'm always glad to see it one more time.

Hmm... wonder if I should make pony versions of the characters, just for fun..?

I always thought The Brave Little Toaster fit neatly into the late 80s "cartoon renaissance" movement. It was a little dark and off the beaten path - clearly inspired. Just like Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, a bunch of people who worked on it went on to make some of the defining animation of the 90s (in this case, with Pixar). Saw it with my mother, and we both came away really impressed.

I place it in the same category as The Land Before Time: two great movies which led to lots of other great stuff.

Wow, it's been forever since I watched it. All I remember is that it was crazy and a little to weird for me.

Of course, I don't even remember the plotline anymore.

EDIT: I just remembered that my family got this as a VCR from Blockbuster. Wow.

When I was a child, I was never digging deep into that movie enough, but now that I am older, I finally understand everything going on!

I can't explain it well enough, but I think the Nostalgia Critic will sum it up pretty good.

Also... SCARY CLOWN

I also must say that my favorite songs were "It's a B Movie" and "Worthless". If you really get down and listen to "Worthless", you'd be amazed by the message sent across by that song.

Absolutely loved this movie, and its sequels almost as much so. Probably gonna have to go eBaying and get a VHS of it now. tongue.png

Also, I'm pretty sure I literally pissed myself a time or two watching it when I was younger. There's some fucking disturbing moments in this film. ohmy.png

"NO kirby don't suck up the cord!" I can remember that at least. Anyway, I was just hit with a nuclear nostalgia bomb and had some nostalgia flavored ice cream. Man I loved that film when I was young. I might watch it again, but IDK, who knows if I'd still like it.

That was a cute little movie. I watched it a lot in my childhood, though when I was younger I was always scared to think that all the inanimate objects in the world were really sentient because of this movie, and I constantly worried that it pained my cereal to it or something. I think I remember feeling sorry for my bed more than I remember the movie that caused these feelings.

Yes. TBLT is among my top ten best animated films of all time. Everything about it is awesome, whether it's the characters, or the beautiful score. It also makes a very strong and memorable statement about modern culture.

Oh yeah, and I was completely dumbfounded when I found out John Lasseter had been involved.

I must of saw it 184 quadrillion times as a kid. It scared me, but it drew me in as well(Kinda like Courage The Cowardly Dog) I watched the movie recently and it's held up fine

I watched that film for the first time (or at least, that I remember seeing it) last night, and I'm listening to City Of Light just now. I thought it was pretty good, with just enough light and dark moments (aside from Toaster's nightmare, that was just...wow.).

One thing I couldn't figure out was the Toaster's gender. I know that a lot of male characters have female voice actresses, but the Toaster's personality also struck me as more feminine than masculine, and the relationship between Toaster and Blankie seemed more like surrogate mother and son/big sister little brother than two brothers or a homosexual relationship (why do people ship them when Blankie is clearly much younger than Toaster?), but then the Toaster is occasionally referred to as "he"...

Great movie. Definitely part of the mainstay childhood catalog. I kid you not I quote it like once every week.

Really hard to say what is the best sequence, since it is all so good, but all the Act 1 [The beginning cabin scenes] stuff is pure gold.

Ya! Movie was amazing! I haven't seen it very much recently... I think I liked all the characters, except the radio wasn't near a favorite. I believe that the first was my favorite of the movies. I did enjoy how musical it was despite the fact that I normally dislike musicals.

ohmy.png  What a flash of nostalgia!

I do fondly remember watching that movie as a kid! It is really awesome to hear from someone else to bring something such as this up from the past. Now that you brought that up I want to watch it again just for the good memories ;)
