DashingRainbow36 264 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 All I've had is a radio turn on. And then weird noises around the house, but with a house thats been around since the 30's you would expect that. I still have yet to have any paranormal expereince. I don't believe in ghosts actually. But i do like being in intence and scary situations, like walking in the woods at night with friends. “The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks.”― Christopher Hitchens
Kyreth 194 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 When I was younger I used to think I could dream the future. It would always be something really mundane, like I would see a room in a dream then a week later I would stay at a hotel and it would be that room. I can still remember the dreams, mostly because I was so freaked out when I saw it in the real world. Now that I'm older and more rational though, I'm pretty sure it was just some intense deja'vu. I can't make signatures. Sooo... yeah

Feather Spiral 1,892 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 Well, as I've said, some people will keep hammering that "there's a rational explanation behind any so-called paranormal phenomenon". Those individuals either have never witnessed such events before, or might've but still refuse to give in because it goes against their education. Problem is, the great majority of the so-called "explanations" fail to consider several details of said phenomenon. Superstition may be outdated, but so is rationalism. That being said, the thread title says "paranormal encounters", but I think it's turning into a thread about paranormal experiences in general. I suggest that the title be changed accordingly, since an encounter implies a second entity, whereas "experiences" includes all sorts of phenomena. Phenomena such as the feeling of being dragged across the bed, which happened to me just last night. No feeling of being pulled by any limb or body part in particular; just sliding back and forth, as if gravity itself was shifting. It had happened before, and I'm wondering if something's doing it physically, somehow. But again, like the "breathing entity" part, this might just be in my mind. Which, of course, doesn't exclude the possibility that the MENTAL effect is caused by something unknown to modern science. I take writing commissions. Evilshy 5,090 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 (edited) I occasionally hear screams inside my head. It's pretty rare, maybe once a month or so, but it's happened as long as I can remember, and it doesn't really bother me any more. About six moths ago, I had woken up in the middle of the night, as I often do, and was trying to fall back asleep. I was facing the wall. I rolled over, and on the floor in the middle of the room, I saw the disembodied head of this kid I knew from high school. His eyes had been taken out and there was blood running down his face from both sockets. Freaked the hell out of me, but then I figured "eh, it's dark and I don't have my glasses on, it's probably some trick of the light and some weird shadows on something on the floor." so I went back to sleep. When I woke up, I turned on the light and saw that there was nothing on my floor, so it couldn't have been just a trick of the light making something look freaky. I also frequently get the feeling that I'm being watched, but I think that's just paranoia :/ Edited February 7, 2012 by Evilshy Signature now 99% less edgy! FinalGamer 192 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 Reposting this from another thread buuuuuut... When i was around 8 or so, there was a helicopter ride at an event for special kids. Being a kid, helicopters are awesome. I was waiting in the queue for it, until this guy talks to me from behind in the queue. He was a guy in a brown coat, and he said: "Having a good day?" I said that I was and that this was gonna be awesome. I didn't turn around for some reason, like, I dunno why, I didn't wanna look at this guy. But then he tells me: "Be careful, it's not your time yet." Then I dunno where he went. Just as I was about to get on this helicopter however, apparently there was a mix-up in the queue rota and the kid after me went instead. The helicopter crashed on that flight, with the kid inside. He died. The papers even slipped up and mentioned my name as the victim. I dunno what happened, but I swear to Luna that this is the truth. My parents were there too and they know it all too...but they don't remember that guy I talked to for some reason. I'm not very religious but that kinda stuff really does a bender on your head. Now I'm afraid of helicopters, going near them that is. ---------- That and my dad has these weird premonitions of things that'll happen to us. Bad things. Like, he'll tell us to not go out on a certain day, or not go down certain roads when out driving. And there's no reason to think it but then we'll get home and hear like "CRASH PILEUP ON THE A90" and we'll all be freaked by how the shit he does that. The scary thing is that I'm kinda predicting things too << but for some reason they're only about very mundane things, nothing huge or disastrous. Like when I was a kid I dreamt that I'd be going to the dentist and a week later WITHOUT WARNING, was at the dentist. I even knew what the magazines were in the room before we went in. Nowadays it's kinda staved off and it becomes instead a very very weird deja vu. Like, I'll dream about something mundane I'll be doing, like say talking about the Sonic series to a friend of mine while walking down a particular street in the early afternoon. And then three months later, THAT WILL HAPPEN. And it gives me the worst goddamn headache. The kind of headache you get from staring at magic mirrors too long, you know, when your eyes start to faze and you go "what is this shit my head hurts". So yeah...that's my experiences.
Wonka 39 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 Sorry for bumping this, but something disturbing happens to me sometimes in the early morning. Not often, but, say, every few months in average. Mostly when I'm sleeping on my stomach. It happened just tonight, waking me up around 6:30am. It disturbed me so much I just sat there, for fifteen minutes, rubbing my head and trying to shake it off. I sometimes wonder if it's just a morning terror, but I don't know if morning terrors include the feeling of such a strong presence. The fact that it only occurs in the aforementioned position might indicate that the cause is lack of oxygen. I was having a controlled, lucid dream (nsfw) when I felt myself wide awake in my bed. I was still in a daze, physically numb and paralyzed. All of a sudden, I heard breathing behind me. I don't believe it was a delayed perception of my own, because I could hear mine as well and the two had different tempos. It was accompanied by the strong feeling that someone was there, right on top of me. That's when the thing behind me leaned over and started blowing air onto my neck. I don't think it was a current of air in my bedroom because: A- it wasn't something continuous, really felt AND sounded like someone breathing in THEN blowing out air; B- the air started off fresh, but then got warmer and warmer. All the while, I felt like it was trying to mentally subdue me. Even to physically enter me. I had to resist it like no tomorrow, even though I nearly gave up at one point because I thought I couldn't take the physical and mental pressure anymore. When I could finally get over the daze and move, the sound of blowing became continuous and, VERY SLOWLY, faded into the rumbling of blood flowing in my head. Now THIS, is something I don't recall from the previous times; might be because I wasn't paying attention to that until now. Everything else, from "I felt myself wide awake" to "pressure anymore", is common to my previous experiences. Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe in demons. In fact, I recall "abandoning" myself once or twice before, and the creepiest result was the feeling of the "entity" flowing down my head and along my spine. Nothing like being possessed or sleepwalking (that I know of). I do, however, consider the existence of spirits and other intangible entities to be probable. The possibility of me being bait for something like a ghost is somewhat disturbing. This one might be harmless, but if it's attracted, who knows what else could? It has been shown that when you "wake up" from a lucid dream, you could still be dreaming. For example, you could "wake up", go to the bathroom, and do your business, but you were still sleeping and instead relieved yourself in the bed. For example, you could "wake up", go to the bathroom, and do your business, but you were still sleeping and instead relieved yourself in the bed. Aren't there ways to tell, though? Something like, try to hold your breath, and it will either wake you up or prove your not dreaming. Also, sticking your finger down your throat and forcing a gag reflex to wake you. Zalgo 593 February 8, 2012 Share February 8, 2012 (edited) Oh yah, I berbember the most recent thing. I swear I see a very extremely vague apparation of a completely white woman (I dont mean complexion, I mean color) in a long robe with long black hair. Except she doesn't have a nose or a mouth and her eyes are either red, blue, yellow and once they were white. I think it's just my imagination because I had a dream where I went in this house and... Creepy material: Everything was made of body parts (ex: digestive system pipes, bone and skin walls, organ lamps) and there was mounted pets and exotic animals. Then I went downstairs and there were mounted humans and stuffed humans everywhere. I seen this large iron door and I ran into it. At first it was pitch black, then the light slowly came on. There was human corpses, body parts and blood everywhere. And then I looked in the middle of the room and there stood the woman/lady/thing. She motioned for me to come closer and I did, then I walked into her and I woke up having a night terror. Feather Spiral 1,892 February 10, 2012 Share February 10, 2012 (edited) It has been shown that when you "wake up" from a lucid dream, you could still be dreaming. For example, you could "wake up", go to the bathroom, and do your business, but you were still sleeping and instead relieved yourself in the bed. That, funnily enough, never does happen to me. Countless times I have relieved myself in my dream, but it never ends; and when I wake up, I feel the need, and my underwear is completely dry.I actually had a dream like that just last night, a lucid one too. I was in a toilet I had never seen before, and I thought: okay, I'm gonna let it all out in the dream, but it ain't gonna work, and when I wake up, I'll have to go for real. And that's what happened. On the other hand, I've already stated that it could very well be just a morning terror. As I've said, there were a few occasions where I let the "entity" enter me, and... well, I don't feel any more insane than I already was. But the thing is, in my DREAMS, there's NEVER ANY SOUND. Yet, in THIS particular case, there WAS. That's what's creeping me out; if it was just an impression and feeling on my skin, I would've considered it was all a dream. As for premonitory dreams, I've had a few of those, too. Like that tower, with a spiral staircase mounted on the walls without an "axis" supporting it, that I saw in a dream. That was a couple years BEFORE entering my current university, in a campus full of such towers. There are also the dreams I had during my stay in London last summer, while my parents and sister were on vacation in Turkey. One was about my sis making my mother cry real bad; when mom called me a few days later, I asked her if it had happened, and she said yes. The other was of a buffet, and for some reason, anything other than crepes was blurred (or even invisible); and back in France, during a meal, my parents talked about the "delicious crepes" they had eaten at their hotel (I never told them about this dream). There were more, but I forgot about them. I only remember the feeling of familiarity, and the certainty of remembering something I was supposed to be seeing for the first time. Oh, I forget. During our X-mas and New Year vacation in Turkey, we spent two nights at my grandmother's. On both occasions, in the morning, I felt her late dog (a female miniature Pinscher). She climbed onto the sofa-bed we were sleeping in, cuddled close to me and licked my hand. She wandered around, too, before returning to me, instead of staying motionless. I tried to say something telepathically or at least to pet her, but I don't know if I was successful. Edited February 10, 2012 by Derth Fader the Ponith I take writing commissions. Viscra Maelstrom 3,718 February 10, 2012 Share February 10, 2012 lots of interesting experiences in this thread! personally, i haven't been exposed to any paranormal activity of any kind. the only times when i do and it scares me shitless, i am fully conscious, and it's more or less just my imagination running off charts to scare me because of something scary i had seen earlier that day (mostly creepypastas and such). i've had dreams while being fully conscious in the past, but that's because i was suffering from a very powerful sickness, such as colds. i dream pretty odd and interesting things at times, like this night, but nothing leading to stuff such as this... bah. i'm not making any sense here.
