Why not a Hawaiian themed episode?

This is something I wanna know.  How come we don't see a Hawaiian themed episode in My Little Pony to at least introduce the bronies to the essence of Hawaii and the concept of Ohana(Hawaiian for Family)?

 

They could bring in authentic Hawaiian musicians(Like the Brothers Cazimero) to perform.  It would be something interesting for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I guess a Hawaii (Hoofwaii?) episode wouldn't be too bad. Hawaiian culture was sort of interesting to me.

 

Even if they don't include much culture into the episode, there would most likely be some fairly attractive Hawaiian pony dancers within it.

I don't mean that in a sexual way. I think most Hawaiian dancers are beautiful.

But, how could they not include the culture of a place like Hawaii?

To be honest, Rainbow Dash would make a pretty exsteameawesamazing surfer. Maybe it could be a way on adding RD's family into the show (providing they want to give her a mum+dad)?

Actually, the name "Lio Lani" would be a more appropriate name for a Hawaiian-themed area for Equestria.

I dunno if they would though. The only other culture they elaborated on in this show was 'Native American' Buffalo. Really I'd like to see them elaborate on Zecora and Saddle Arabia before they do the Hawaiian thing. If they do it at all.

What would they do, though? Would they go to a Hawaii-themed island for a holiday? Would people from a Hawaii-themed island come to Ponyville for a holiday? The lesson of such an episode couldn't be too distinctly Hawaii based, or it would make the show feel like it only applies to the people of the US.

 

Still, I can imagine Pinkie and Applejack going crazy at a cocktail bar Rainbow Dash would love a beach to read her Daring Do books on, and there could be a funny scene involving Rarity and Hawaiian fashion

I would be happy if they explored any 'foreign' areas, but I can see Lio Lani (I like the name, @@SaburoDaimando, I'm going to try to write it down somewhere so I don't forget it) being fun.

 

I have vague memories of a fanfiction where Fluttershy's family is supposedly from a similar locale. It was just a side note relative to the actual story, but it was an interesting one.

I can see plenty of fan art coming from this, but not much of a story. What would they be doing there, and such?

 

Also we need a canon name. Hoofwaii? I'm not good with names.

I'm all for having them hit a beach (working on a song with that theme in mind tbh) but Hawaii is an island on earth and according to the Equestrian map there aren't many nearby islands.

But I'm all for a beach / sea pony 2 parter episode as i think both of themes would be a welcome break from boring old Ponyville. .

Well as long as they can have a lesson to learn thats still valid enough I guess it'd be cool.

 

I'd still find it pretty cool just to see them go to a Hawaii like place. (Hoofwaii is a cool spoof name btw .)

 

As long as they have a purpose there of some type so it'd still be interesting I'd be cool with an episode based on Hawaii.

I've got a good reason why there should be no Hawaii episode: it's a product of some of the cheesiest and corniest family sitcoms of the 1970s-1990s, that's why!    "The Brady Bunch", "Saved By the Bell", "Full House", the list goes on and on and I'm 10-1 certain that they all had a Hawaii episode at some point.  Most of those shows weren't good to begin with (I actually did like Brady Bunch though), and even if they were those Hawaii episodes usually came when they were starting to get bad!  So yeah, I'd rather not see a Hawaii episode to be honest.  It'd simply be too reminiscent and familiar to some of those sitcoms for my taste.  Plus, I just don't see why it'd be needed in MLP; the setting would be kinda random in all honesty.

Yeah! I'm all for an Hawaiian themed episode. Perhaps a  beach party episode where family (Ohana) gets tied in somehow. I can imagine that's when we'd get to see almost all of the mane 6's parents (minus Applejack and possibly Fluttershy) given they all go there.

I wouldn't mind as long as David Hasselhoff was lifeguard.

He could even be filmed live action just like in the Sponge Bob Movie.

 This is a really good idea! Maybe there could be a spinoff of some Hawaiian monster, or a lava monster! Maybe it could be part of some Tour for Twilicorn!
