Fluttering High 55 July 9, 2013 Share July 9, 2013 I am a dedicated (although fairly new) brony, yet, I don't have any of the toys. They strike me as an essential part of the franchise, even for the adult and teenage viewers. However, the reason that I haven't bought any yet is that I can't find any of decent quality. The only ones that I have seen are horribly unrealistic. Does anyone know of toys, with the actual, non solid plastic manes, that bear a good resemblance to the actual characters? Looked there to see who it was supposed to be before noticing the horn. Can you imagine, if Hasbro had acquired the contract for Star Wars toys? "How come the Millennium Falcon toy is an octagon? Why does the Han Solo action figure have a ponytail? And Chewbacca is not pink!" Hasbro! Look! At your own packaging! Twilight Sparkle is right there! I am just not able to believe that they could insult the show by creating a toy so abhorrent. Then again, the spoiled little brats that are developed society's children now will still convince their mommies to buy just about anything for them, no matter how crappy. But, just go to Hot Topic, they have wayyy better pony stuff. I agree, Hasbro does a pretty awful job for a franchise that was based off toys. RockinRarity 1,605 July 10, 2013 Share July 10, 2013 A lot of bronies really like the small plastic PVC figurines because their hair is molded and it does not fly everywhere. Others like the $5 brushables. They are a bit larger and while their hair is a bit of a mess at first, there are ways to style their individual manes so that they look more show-accurate. That plushie is awful. But that plushie is also no longer in production. It is leftover from a previous batch of toys because no one wants to buy it, lol. You will see a lot of those kinds of toys. Whenever I go to the pony section at a store, the shelves are almost empty. Hot Topic's vinyl figures are pretty good (they have RD, Derpy, and now Fluttershy)! ^ That, and fanmade toys are usually at the better quality and accuracy. As for Hasbro...I wish they could improve. Some toys are okay, but I really think they should focus on the quality as well. Especially the plushies! That Twilight looks like she took crack... But I mean think about it...this is mainly targeted for little girls. So quality isn't a top priority (since little girls might not pay attention to that stuff).
