Is Equestria Girls Worth a Watch?

I haven't seen Equestria Girls yet, so I was wondering if it's worth a watch. If it is, should I watch it online, wait for it on DVD, or watch it when it comes on tv (assuming it will).

 

The reviews I've read so far are pretty positive, so I'm already considering watching it online, but I wanted to see what you people think about it.

Just like alot of fans, I was skeptical about Equestria Girls when I first heard about it. However I was willing to give it a chance. I watched the movie and I came to really enjoy it. There were quite a few unexpected surprises awaiting within and even though I still am not too fond of the concept of humanized ponies, I can safely say that the movie is definitely worth seeing at least once.

well my opinion is my own and i strongly believe you should watch Equestria Girls. it is a fun movie to watch. i myself have watched it online several times. it is really enjoyable. give it a watch......the movie gets an 8.5/10 from me

I think its worth a watch, I thought it was good, but overall it seems most people at the worst typically think of it as atleast decent.

 

I personally think its worth the watch, and where you watch it is kinda up to you, I mean if you can you should watch it in theaters or on DVD or whatever, but if you can't then just try to find it on youtube or something.

 

Not the best movie ever created or anything, but I thought it was pretty good.

It was a great movie, so yes.  I think if you are able you should see it in theaters.  If you can't I'd wait for it to come out on DVD and buy it, or watch it on TV.

In terms of plot, it's not one of the strongest films I've seen in a while, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And honestly, the whole plot thing is really just my nitpicky, critical mind speaking its...uh, mind. At the end of the day, I enjoyed EqG for the same reason I enjoy the show, which is to say for the character moments. Each of the Mane 6's human counterparts was spot-on as far as keeping in character, and the array of cameos was a treat.

 

I'd only recommend staying away from it if plot holes really, really bother you on a level that you just can't overlook.

Yes it's wirth the watch. I went in with a open mind abd throughly enjoyed, yeah the plot was weak and not getting certain things explained made you think "ok how does that work" and villian back story was a little lacking but all and all was a decent movie worth watching at least twice

Equestria Girls is without a doubt worth the watch. If you have an open mind about the movie then you will most likely enjoy the movie. You can either watch it on youtube or wait for it to be put on TV, or even wait for it to come out on DVD. Anyway you watch it you will be definitely agree it was worth it.

I say its worth the watch. I was very skeptical at first. I thought this stunt would ruin the franchise or at least get negative reviews from MLP fans. The movie ended up being good and entertaining. The characters interact with each other the same way as in the regular series. Watching it reminded me of the show Doug since everyone had colorful skin haha. I loved the musical in the cafe too haha

 

Give it a shot, its worth it.

Here is my suggestion: Do not bother asking and just watch it. While I have noticed a far more positive response from viewers, you will still get responses from both sides, making the question entirely pointless. I absolutely loved the film, but you may not. You have to watch it to find out.

WATCH IT!!!

 

Outside of the whole "OMG! PONIEZ R HOOMANS IN HI SKOOL!!!1!" thing, it's still a fun 70 minute movie.  The High School tropes are not overplayed, and the story stays on plot for the most part.  Production wise, it still feels like FiM obviously, the animation (even in the human world), the music, the tone of humor, and the friendships, even that squee sound effect is there!

 

At the very least, its worth the watch just to see what all the fuss is about.

I think that it is. Even if you have to pay for it. I didn't like it for reasons that are more about the concept than the movie itself. The quality is not stellar but it is good enough.

Depends on who you ask. I give it a 7 out of 10 because while the animation was good and the plot had a lot of funny moments (mind you this isn't a high school story, it's a Twilight can't fit in story), the movie had too MANY plot holes and while the songs were good for what they were, they were too popish.

 

Don't buy it, I'd say try to watch it for free.

I would say yes. I thought it was a very fun movie. That's the word I think best describes it fun it has a good number of funny scenes. Twilight dealing with her new form is great. So a very Pinkie Pie movie. The animation is pretty spot on as well though I found the background humans looked odd and their movement was very limited compared to the Mane 6.

Sure, it's worth one sitting.
Just turn your brain off and enjoy the animation, comedy, and characters, and try not to pay too much attention to the plot, because it's full of gaping holes, and that's something that always bothers me personally.
I mean, I'm one of those rare people who didn't really like the film that much, but I don't feel like a ton of my time was wasted, either.
If there is one film I would advice you to stay the fuck away from, however, it would be Man of Steel.
Push it away and keep it away.
Equestria Girls is A-okay.

Ok, one word to describe Equestria Girls:EPIC. I loved every friggin moment of it! The story was great, the character designs were great, and don't even get me started on the songs! The songs were some of the best out of MLP. I loved it, loved Equestria Girls. I would say it's worth a watch!
