Camo & Krooked: Cross the Line

My rating: 7.5/10

Great album by Camo & Krooked, personally i like it, but it ain't the best i've heard better. Maybe because i'm not much of a dnb/dubstep fan, but it is a nice album. So i thought i'd share the album with you.

My 4 favorite tracks from the album are:

-Anubis

-Breezeblock

-Get Dirty

-Watch It Burn

-And this time in the correct section, Twillight Sparkle(feld0) !

-Yes i know i've made quite a few topics containing music, but i like sharing music.

So deal with it xD

Ok I am not hating, but can you really explain something to me.

Why do people enjoy Dubstep?

It may be that I have not heard anything really good yet, but it just sounds like a lot of WUB WUB and booms.

I mean, what do people find entertaining in it that attracts them to it. I honestly don't know xD

As a massive dubstep fan, here's my two bits.

Basically, the songs are just filled with so much energy. The bass track really gets you pumped up, and the bass drop is fantastically invigorating. I know that it's not for everyone, but hey, neither is MLP. I just really love dubstep.

Zelda + Dubstep = a euphoric combination

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp3UeCguVVI

Additionally, here's some dubstep..with lyrics(?)!

I mean, what do people find entertaining in it that attracts them to it. I honestly don't know xD

I'll put it this way. When i listen to Rihanna, all I hear is umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh (x4)

She has a fan base consisting of millions.

When i listen to Bruno Mars, I hear No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, oh and Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-eah.

How people find enjoyment in listening to such music baffles me.

Sure, we could argue that we like the 'atmosphere', or 'beat' or 'energy' of a particular song, but the true reason's much simpler.

In a nutshell, the same music can go into peoples ears, but by the time the brains finished interpreting the sounds it's hearing, it comes out as something completely different.

By the way, is it just me or is dubstep just now getting really popular? Before a few months ago I had never even heard of it and now I see it everywhere. Kind of like ponies.

There's quite allot of debate over whether pendulum can be considered D&B. I reckon some of their music is, since their older tracks tend to fall within the 160-180 bpm, but they tend to sound more electronic rather than focusing on the bass and sub-bass lines.

My favourite D&B artist would have to be Netsky. Always loved this track:

The beat hits at around 1:00

Pendulum's Hold Your Colour is definitely drum 'n bass, with only very little deviation of the roots of the genre. With In Silico, however, they took a more rock-band direction with their sound, and in Immersion even some dubstep and house elements.

So yes, Pendulum was purely a drum 'n bass band once in time, but are now more of a electronic dance rock band, incorporating rock elements and dubstep/house alongside their d'n'b sound.

As for dubstep, as much as my ears are able to handle powerful, aggressive music, I still can't handle some dubstep. Since dubstep's so mainstream now, there's a lot of really god-awful shitty dubstep being produced, putting way too much focus on the bassdrop of the music, with little to no attention to the overall melody of the song.

This is what I'd consider to be good dubstep:

And bad... exactly what Grendo posted. Containing exactly what my complaint on mainstream dubstep is.

But ehh, everyone was different tastes. I listen to gabber, speedcore, and breakcore, as well as other very hard styles of electronic music, myself. Maybe I just think dubstep's too slow for me, or something. =P

oh, and

best d'n'b song EVER.
