Will Twilight have Discord as a new ally as she learns to become a princess?

Who thinks that maybe twilight will now have discord to be a new ally as she learns to become a princess, maybe she might have a place to rule over as princess cadence. hopefully there will be alot more discord in the new shows to come along.

But I guess he won't be as helpful as other allies might be. I mean, he's still chaos after all. Even though he might use his magic more often for good, I think there will be moments he simply won't be able to resist causing "bad" things, or things that are not helpful then.

Discord might be a creature that causes chaos and disorder but, he can be able to lend a hoof to Twilight to help her learn more on becoming a princess while Celestia is able to teach Twilight more lessons and tips on the way. Discord might not be able to resist the temptation of using chaos but, there could be where he uses it for good.

Yeah, Discord is already "somewhat" aligned with Celestia, so it would make sense if he became an ally or ally-ish to Twilight. That being said with characters such as Discord, which I do hope I see more of, the writers have to be careful with him otherwise he might just become a walking/hovering/flying Deus Ex Machina.

It's possible that Discord may tag along. But of course, what if his reformation all a ruse? What if he faked turning good just to take down friendship from the inside? Think: He was reformed due to Fluttershy's two words. I don't know. I might be crazy. Just saying.

But what if he cares more about friendship now then before i mean think about it, the last episode involving discord he really cared for friendship in the end what if he wants more of the feeling he had with fluttershy. and helping twilight will make a friendship between them maybe its just a guess.

Since his reformation he could very well become almost like another mentor to her albeit one that has a bit of troll side to him. But it is also likely that Discord could have doubts about Twilight becoming an alicorn princess, I wouldn't be surprised if he burst out laughing when he first found out. I came up with this fanfic idea where he turns everypony in Equestria into an alicorn to show Celestia just how ridiculous in his opinion turning Twilight into an alicorn is.

I reckon there will be an episode where she needs discords help, which he provides, but it is fake to throw her off. But just before she makes the mistake, discord will feel bad and tell her the truth.

I think Twilight will still bicker and argue with Discord, but gradually she'll begin to accept that he's (mostly) no longer evil. Maybe they can have an episode where he offers some advice, and things go very badly for the princess until she finally breaks down and tries his idea.

I think Twilight and Discord working together for the good would be really interesting to see. I know Twilight would get skeptical and probably really untrustworthy of Discord at first. But in the end I'd say there's a 7/10 chance it would end up working out. One, because of Discord's recent reformation and two, Twilight and him would probably be the most powerful duo in Equestria.

 

In fact, Discord's like a hundred times more powerful than Twilight if you think about it. He's pure chaos after all and by his very own nature, he doesn't have to obey the laws of reality. If he was still evil and really wanted to, he could've easily defeated Celestia and Luna and taken over all of Equestria, and hell, even the universe! Chaos has no limits. His power makes like a freakin God lol.

 

His only weakness is his severely limited mentality. He's always arrogant and trollish when it comes to using his abilities. He's like a God but he lacks the common sense, never mind the omniscience(limitless knowledge), to know the full potential of his abilities.

 

Twilight's becoming an extraordinary expert in utilizing her element of magic, with only Celestia and Luna being a little more powerful than her.

 

I actually think Twilight could surpass the princesses abilities one day, especially with the fact that she's a princess herself, so she's only going to get more powerful. That's for sure.

 

The only problem with Discord being Twilight's ally is that he'll probably take everything like it's a silly joke as he normally does, and that would easily get on Twilight's nerves.

 

Nonetheless, I would like to see Discord help Twilight at least one time in the series. That would be epic if they worked together to stop a new insanely powerful antagonist.

I can pretty much guarantee you that we haven't seen the last of Discord, who knows we might even see him as a villain again, but either way there will be more of him. I don't know if he will ever be an "ally" but I'm sure he will stand up and protect Equestria if it is in danger, after all where is the fun in creating chaos if there is no where to play with it.

And actually, the sneak peek doesn't prove Luna is turning evil again. While I would like to see that happen once, it's more likely that the scene was part of a dream or vision of the past that Twilight is having, because Luna/NM addresses her as if she were Celestia.

Last ever episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Q "helps" Picard by setting up a test that spanned from the near-beginning of Earth's history all the way to Starfleet's future. He was strict, calculating, and the fate of mankind apparently laid in Jean-Luc's hands. Granted, it seemed very malicious to Picard at the time but Q got a taste of what Picard's real character was like and, to an extent, humanity's as well. It would be interesting is the same were to happen with Twilight and Discord.

Not really. Discord may be 'friends' with butter pony now, and he may be willing to cooperate with Celestia so that no one has to deal with cleaning chocolate rain out from their gutters as Discord tries to forcefully cease the throne anymore, but that by no means, means he has to join hierarchy rank of pony society and metaphorically bow down to anyone. As Megan puts it,

 

"For a character like Discord, 'reforming' him allows us to tell new stories with his character. He gets to be the not-always-reliable ally instead of the known enemy."

 

To me, that sounds less like a 'we have a leash on you now, do our bidding or we'll punish you' and more like a 'I'll help you when I feel like it or find it entertaining, fair or just, but otherwise, all I am is a friend of Fluttershy, and a friendly acquittance to the rest of you.'

 

There's nothing being held over Discord in a way that would mean he needs to obey anyone, princesses included. Ergo, if he helps, it's because he wants to, first and foremost. The one and only thing anyone can do would be turn him back to stone, but seeing as I don't see Twilight and the Mane Six, nor Celestia ordering Discord to be turned to stone simply because he doesn't feel like helping out in the occasional scenario, that's a moot point.

 

In short, directly answering the OP, I refer, again, to what Meghan has said. He'll help out sometimes, but he's no loyal Rainbow Dash, honest Applejack, or generous Rarity. He may be playing nice because he enjoys having friends after all, but he's still a 'creature of chaos'. His help needs to be hypothesized to be unpredictable at best, before any such conclusions such as 'yes princess, of course princess, let me make you a cup of tea, princess' can be even remotely considered.

I also see him not stepping in and helping directly, because that would be boring for him, but instead helping indirectly. Discord is still out to have fun, and where is the fun in solving all the problems yourself? He could do it, he just wont.
