gaming Video games you WISH you could play?

I would love to be able to play CoD, Battlefield, and Halo online at home, but sadly, my home internet lags way too much much for this to be possible. My ping is over 700 (because I'm stuck with shitty satellite "broadband") at all times, which makes for quite a miserable gaming experience. I also live in a semi-rural area in the U.S., so that only makes things worse internet-wise. I've searched high and low to see what was available where I live, but so far, I can't find any reasonably priced ISP. Anyone else feel my pain?

I know the feeling, bad internet connection is a curse  :(

I can play most games but I will almost always have over 1000 in ping in every other region than russia....

I can afford a gaming pcinternet would kill the fun of having one(getting one anyway becouse i can  B) )

I would love to play battlefield 3 but my internet will make me lag to death.

@, that doesn't matter. i am terrible at video games, but i like playing them. I have friends who say that pokémon games can be beat by 8-year-olds and i have trouble with it sometimes. plus, i'm doing a major that involves a lot of time devoted to it.

Naw. I was just joking. I can understand that school can take a lot of time.

And now you mention it, I also have trouble with Pokemon games. >.> I am really terrible at RPG-sorta stuff. And now that's brought up, I have a lot of RPG games that I just can't play because they are too difficult for me, even though they are considered "easy".

Examples include:

  • Chrono Trigger
  • Tales of Symphonia
  • Xenoblade

Uh... yeah, I really don't play a lot of RPG games.

Question: Can someone recommend me some good RPGs with a nice story? I would really appreciate it.

Who needs signatures?

   ...not me

seriously, you're not supposed to see this.

@, i never got a chance as a kid to play any video games really. the farthest i ever got was maybe past one gym. and then the kid who owned the system would want his game back. so don't worry, being terrible isn't too rare.

-The Halo series

-Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, and Portable Ops

-Four Swords

-Almost everything on Steam

-Bioshock one and two

-Pokemon Red and Blue

So, yeah, there's my list. Most of these games I don't own the system for, or are just unable to play. I am working on getting the Pokemon and Metal Gear games, though.

All the Pokemon games. I feel like I missed a great opportunity to enhance my childhood, and now I''m pissed because I don't know if it's still even possible to play the original games with no access to gameboys or cartridges. I wish Nintendo would remake the games for the 3DS....I'd still have to buy a 3DS, but at least I'd be safe in the knowledge that the games are accessible.

There are also several PC games I can't run on my laptop or can't buy because I don't have a credit card, so these are out of the question:

- Skyrim (I make do with the PS3 version, but it has its problems and I can't use mods of console commands).

- Minecraft

- The Civilization 5 expansions

- Company of Heroes 2

- Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light

Minecraft especially annoys me. I've seen countless Minecraft let's plays and I know my way around most of the game's features...and I've never even played it myself. It's driving me crazy.

  • 2 weeks later...

I really want to play Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, but I don't have a Nintendo 3DS! I've played the others in the series, but they were on the Nintendo DS, and I really want to see more from the Professor Layton world. The games are amazing, and I love the stories in them. Hopefully, the 3DS's price will drop soon.

The Crash Bandicoot games

The Spyro games

The SMT: Persona games

The Professor Layton games (bar the first and second games, which I already own)

Team Fortress 2 (Played it, would give my SOUL to play it again)

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story/M&L: Dream Team

Donkey Kong 64 (Haven't played this one since childhood)

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

The original Ninja Gaiden games

The reboot Ninja Gaiden games (maybe)

Sonic and the Black Knight

... Think that's it. Though I doubt it.

Skyrim, Bioshock, all those good shooter games, a lot of those rated M games that are only rated that because of violence and language. My mom won't let me play those. I don't want to play the ones with a lot of sexual stuff in it anyway, but there are some really good M rated games that I can't play because of their rating...

Oh and a lot of those indie games that cost money to play. I can't afford them. :P I especially want to play To The Moon. :D

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. I bought it and everything, but somehow a 2.5D platformer with cartoony graphics apparently takes more off my machine power than stuff like Skyrim, Saints Row IV and Bioshock Infinite and make the bloody thing burn up into a fireball after only 10 minutes of play. Seriously, I played it for 10 minutes, bam, computer shut down from overheating, with no other programs running. It's ridiculous.

Am I the only one looking some of these lists and going "HA I am able to play these games that others want so much ^_^ " lol.

Anyway mine:

  • Halo series (don't own an Xbox 360)
  • Gravity Rush and Persona 4 Golden (Oh gosh I want to play these so badly but I don't own a Vita)
  • Professor Layton series (no DS)
  • Animal Crossing New Leaf (no DS)

Well, lots of games actually.

- Natural Selection 2

- Farcry 3

- Battlefield 3

- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

- Red Dead Redemption

- GTA 4

- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

The sad thing is I own some of these games, but I can't play them because my computer can't handle them. Impulse buying, folks.

All the games on playstation plus I have in my download list >_<

I have a 2WIRE 1701hg router... which unfortunately has a firmware update in it that won't let my PS3 download anything over 2 gigs.

I have em in my download list for when I finally get around to exchanging it though.

Luckily the Vita games are usually small enough, and if not I can bring my Vita over to a friend's place to borrow their internet.

As far as "games I literally can't play due to hardware constraints" goes, I'd really like to play The Last of Us. I just don't have a PS3 and don't want to buy one just for a single game.  :(

And as far as "HOW DO I ANYTHING IN THIS GAME" goes, Dota 2. Hands down. I really enjoy it, but trying to get over the learning curve is like trying to hike up the Grand Canyon backwards with your limbs sawed off.

I wish, I'd be able to play Prop Hunt (a mod for Gmod). I saw some gameplays from YouTube and it looks really fun. But I'm unable to connect with anyone, I just keep receiving errors, so... well, I guess it's not meant for me to play it :(

Metal Gear Solid 1-4, Tom Clancey Splinter Cell Blacklist, Saint's Row 3, Uncharted 1-3, Infamous, Red Dead Redemption, Naruto Broken Bonds, and finally Fighting is Magic. It's sad. I have not a console nor PC. I only have a 6 year old laptop.

EDIT:

Street Fighter 2, Tekken 3. I know there're more, but I can't remember any.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. I have an N64, and I recently turned the right age to play it a few months ago, but even so I can't find a copy anywhere.

Space Quest series. After a whole life of not being into point-and-click adventure games, it was only a few days ago when I suddenly got the urge. Shortly after I saw Game Grumps' new show, Steam Train play Space Quest IV.

Fez II. Why, Phil Fish? I loved Fez.

Try League of Legends. Same genre, but less complex mechanics. If you wanted to, you could get better at League and then jump to DOTA where you can learn the last bit of mechanics there. League is overall friendlier as a game. The community, however... not so much. Either way, I have dumped over two thousand hours into League. It's a great game to play both casually and competitively, and is really rewarding when you get good. Can't say much about DOTA 2 since it's so new. I know people really hated DOTA 1 after a while because of the terrible community and lack of leaver protection.

As far as my own go, I desperately want to replay Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles but I haven't had a Game Cube in forever, and dolphin only emulates it properly on intel processors because of the shading and fog systems, and I don't have access to a Sandy Bridge proc anywhere. So sad.

Also really want to play Persona 1 and Persona 2 but I don't have a PSP for the remakes and the emulated version can't blend textures properly, so it's a really terrible experience.

He got a lot of hate if you don't know. He said "Forget this!" and left gaming. He may make a comeback. I hope so anyways. But for now, things like haters, trolls, and hollers (Both haters and trollers) shall rule as the #1 most known group on the internet.

Monster Hunter 4. Right now. In the meantime I guess I can just keep playing 3 Ultimate until it's (hopefully)localized, but 4 just looks so awesome. I also wish I could play 3 Ultimate on Wii U instead of 3DS so I can play online but I don't have one yet.

There are also a multitude of games for PS3 and PC I wish I could play but I don't have those yet either. I need money... :/

Special mention to unlocalized Wii stuff like Zengeki No Regeleiv, Captain Rainbow that I wish came out in English, I am grateful for the seemingly unlikely stuff that did come out in english that I got to play on the system though.
