Losing friends being a brony.

Bronii

Recommended Posts

Today I lost 3 friends due to the fact I told them I was a brony. Why would they judge someone based on what they like? Some friends they were :(img-1771690-1-image_zps462ff353.jpg

Anyone else lost a friend or two? Comment down below :) /)

Ahah what butters. I honestly don't see or understand why any one would want to end a friendship due to different interests (unless they try to shove the same interest non stop, then that can get a bit annoying, I guess).

I personally haven't lost any friends for being a brony. But hey, you know..I'm a brony, and you're a brony.. So let us be friends. ;D

then they are probably not real friends or just needs some time to accept it most likely needs some time. (we are all idiots and are awesome for being it)

this have not happened to me, but when people ask they take my ansver as a joke........

If they left you just because you're a brony, then they never were really your friends.

A true friend stays by your side, regardless in what kind of fandom you are.

This.

In times like that, you get to see who your true friends are. They'll stick by your side and accept you for who you are. True friends like you for who you are, that is what others don't. They want you to be a clone of the "perfect community". Fact is, everyone has a little secret, you just had the guts to tell it. Cheers to you! I'm sure you'll find others like you somewhere, don't give up!

Well, now you know who your real friends may be now.

Unfortunately it's depressing that it would have come to where someone who'd decide to leave you because they didn't share a similar interest. Those are fake friends. It's good to see the light before it turns dark.

Wel, firends come and friends go. Only true friends stay with you, no matter what.

So if they've quit their friendship with you, just because you are a brony, they where the most superficial friends friends I could imagine.

In fact, I'd say it's better that way. Better they leave you now than in a time where you would need them.

Well, at least you're in the right place now, where everyone will tolerate your preferences.

Probably not everyone will share them, but your reputation won't suffer under it. :)

Hey sorry to hear that, I know how it feels... sort of. But um.. there is already a very similar thread, and it may have been better to search for a thread like this before creating this one.

Here is the link:

EDIT to my previous post. I forgot to tell you, that if you ever want or need somepony to talk to, whether it is just to say hi and chat, or if you need a shoulder to lean/cry on, an ear to listen to you with, no matter how big or small the problem may be, I am usually on here all day, every day (except when I go to Brony meets or go shopping or stuff), but yeah, I'm here if you need/want a new friend. :)

Yeah....if your other "friends" judge and tease you...those are not friends, mate.

Stick with us on here, we're pretty nice. :)

And obviously, we're all bronies too, so there's that.

I actually lost no friends when I announced my love for the show, but that might be because I barely have any friends to begin with. Besides that, these people were not true friends to begin with. If this is how dumb they are, then they are not exactly worthy of your time. Ending a friendship due to someone loving a show and not just a show, a fantastic show, with great morals and the main message itself is FRIENDSHIP, is complete and relentless idiocy.

Just my opinion. This type of stuff really pisses me off. I guess it makes me kinda glad that I barely have any friends because if I had a lot I could guarantee that I would have some moron 'friends' like this and that would really leave a bad taste. It still does just hearing about it with other people.

Anyone who would abandon you over so trivial a matter were never really true friends to begin with.  I've not had that happen yet. Those friends who know see it as just another one of my nerdy interests and really pay it no mind, beyond the occasion friendly teasing. One of my friends gave the show a chance after I mentioned it and joined the herd shortly after. :yay:

id simply keep it to myself unless u have a clue that one of them likes it and then tell them specially that we live in a community that judges in the stupidest way possible D: but still i havent told any one not even my parents XD because i kind of know their reaction already :P

but still i would encourage u to try and telling them but not ALL (without forgetting im probably the only brony of my country) XD

i even hide my desktop background with photoshop because always som1 comes in busting into my room which is really (@@Sunset Shimmer, the hipy flutershy :D ) but this is only camo

I never knew how lucky I was until I came to this forum. All of my friends except one are bronies. These are friends I've known from anywhere from 3 to even 10 years. So the friends I grew up with all are bronies now too. That's really lucky. I never even thought of losing friends for being a brony. I can't imagine why a friend would stop being your friend for something so stupid. That's like me saying "I don't want to be your friend because you play COD! Noob! #swagyolo lololol." (In other words they're being an ass for not accepting you for who you are, is what I'm getting at.)

I hope you make some new better friends, that don't care if you're a brony. I'm sure you'll have a lot more fun with people like that then the judgemental ones. Good luck, dude! :)

Look man, I'm gonna level with you for a second.

If your "friends" stop wanting to hang out with you because of what TV shows you like, then they probably weren't your friends in the first place.

And you've always got us, remember that.

Anyway, I haven't lost any friends over it because I only told my best friend, he kinda chuckled a bit, but he was totally fine with it after that.

Look on the bright side! You lost three IRL friends, but gained several thousand online friends that you don't even have to leave your PJ's to socialise with.

Seems like a fair trade to me.
