Twilight Was Useless In A Canterlot Wedding

She wasn't useless at all. Twilight voicing her suspicions of the phony Cadence was huge. It totally changed the atmosphere of the impending wedding, even if no one believed her at the time. Most of all it provoked a fatal mistake by Chrysalis: she revealed herself to Twilight, the one pony who was really suspicious of her and had the power to do something about it.

 

Chrysalis had a brilliant strategy to control Canterlot, but Twilight forced her to go through with it too early and freed the real Cadence, who ultimately defeated her and the Changelings. If Twilight had really been useless, the plan would have gone off without a hitch, the real Cadence would still be stuck underground, and Canterlot would be in enemy hands.

Good point about Twilight blasting the wall. It hadn't occurred to me that Cadence might have been be fully sealed into a small space that whole time And then she starves herself again in the very next episode, Crystal Empire. No wonder she's so skinny

now the only question is how did twilight get skinny (slightly but not too noticeable) between magical mystery cure and equesrtiagrils
