[Theory] Equestria Girls is a homage to Galaxy Girls

Was Equestria Girls made as a homage to the concept of the Galaxy Girls show by Faust herself? I'm saying this because the designs seem extremely similar to me.

Maybe maybe. Though I doubt it.

 

A more likely reason would be because they wanted something new, plus, young girls loves to watch "older" girls who dress up cool and do cool stuff. No wonder Barbie or Bratz or whatever their name was became so successful. But yeah I think EqG was just made as a little surprise and to give us something new with characters we already knew and loved.

 

Besides, doesn't every girl in a cartoon show about girls look like that?

I think you might be on to something. The names sound alike, and the character designs are similar.

but omg Galaxy Girls kinda looks like a copy of Powerpuff Girls lol
