Batbrony 16,054 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 What are my favorite accents? Let's see... certainly nothing wrong with a good Australian accent, whether male or female; guys sound awesome with 'em and the ladies sound real nice! Applejack certainly helped me appreciate just how fine women with Southern accents can sound; nothing wrong with a fun-loving cowgirl with a country accent. Rarity on the other hand, given her kind, generous, and overall likable nature, has somewhat ironically led me to appreciate just how nice a refined, Manhattanite accent can sound coming from the right person, or rather, pony in her case. Of course a nice French accent will always sound sexy, even if I don't have that many nice things to say about the French themselves. Good German and Russian accents sound pretty awesome as well, whether from girls or guys, especially German; those just sound boss! Finally, despite the fact that I will readily admit that there is really no way that this can ever sound sexy, I love me a good ol' Midwestern/Wisconsin cheesehead/Minnesota Scandinavian/Michigander Yuper accent, since, well, I'm pure Midwestern myself, and even have a touch of a Wisconsin accent in some of my own dialect, depending on the words. Sometimes it just comes out ya know, and guy or girl, that will always remain one of my favorite accents; it's just a downright fun accent to listen to! "You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes... cupcakes aren't good enough. Sometimes ponies deserve more. Sometimes ponies deserve to have their faith rewarded... with muffins!!!" -The Muffin Mare
Descant 1,897 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 (edited) Basically... Any West European accent. I especially love the dialects you find in the British Isles... English, Scottish, and Irish... I think I'd go for Irish or English above Scottish, though. And I think French is pretty attractive too. Swedish and Italian have their moments, I suppose... That trans-Atlantic accent Rarity speaks with is great, actually. I was born in the American South, still live here, actually, but I kinda detest the native accent here. Especially when we're talking strong southern accents. It's just not attractive. In fact, I think that's half the reason I just plain don't like Applejack. Because of her accent. It's just not... desirable. I've been seriously tempted to school myself to speak naturally in a different dialect on several occasions. long gone 8,929 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 I always though people from New England sounded really cool, especially when they curse. /)^3^(\ Well I did say that I like New England accents >:c. Ever heard somebody from Massachusetts use curse words out loud? xD Wai, I'm fahkin' flattahd. I really like my own state's accent, although that would kinda seem like a "No shit" thing because, well, I've been exposed to it my entiyah life. I also like British accents.
Golurk 468 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 (edited) Personally, Aye prefer a good ol' Sco'ish accent. Aye can do one nearly perfectly, but typin' it out ain't easeh. LanceTheTurtle 28 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 Mid-Atlantic English is rather adorable. I, too, like to speak the (proper) Queen's English. But if I were to say which was the sexiest, there's no doubt I like the American southern drawl. Ahh, cowboys~ ... Old England is best England ^Brohoofed for this.Ohoho, it's so cute, how the Americans and the English find each others' accents sexy. Personally, I, for some reason, think Japanese accents are kind of cute. 2 [ I T ' S O K E Y ! ] [ We're American ] ~ fanfiction ~ avatars (Hetalia © Hidekaz Himaruya; avatar courtesy of The Avatar Library.) JaCe The Ace Flyer 8 September 17, 2013 Author Share September 17, 2013 Wish there were girls round florida that find a slight southern drawl cute. Every time I visit my grandma in Georgia I reacquire my drawl for at least half a month and everyone keeps yelling "WHY DO YOU SOUND THAT WAY NOW!!" And all I think is "I Don't KNOW!!!" Shanks 10,816 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 I have always liked Italian accents in part because I did grow up around them with my Dad's side of the family being Italian immigrants but Applejack has really gotten me to appreciate southern accents. AJ has one of the sexiest accents I have heard in quite some time. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
Finesthour 7,287 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 Hmm. I'm prone to falling in love with Irish voices I absolutely cannot stand English males due to a guy a used to know. Just brings back awful memories.
Katana 298 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 None? I must admit, while I consider it a fault of self, rather than a criticism of other people...I usually can't understand foreign accents at all. I'm not referring to sheltered immigrants that hardly interact with people on the street - I mean people who have been living in America for many years just fine, but still have plenty of traces of their home. Be it India, Mexico, or Ukraine, I always have to ask them to repeat themselves once or twice, and then consider whether to ask another time. I guess I am a bit partial to English accents though, as a part of my family comes from there.
Zygen 6,066 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 Well, honestly i find most accents i'm not around alot entertaining, but none are particular favorites to be honest. I hear the normal American accent i guess, along with a southern accent, and i even have a slight southern accent myself, and sometimes it gets a bit heavier randomly. It just kinda exists since i live in the south ;p. I don't mind it though really. or any accent really. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Pulcinella 1,016 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 (edited) Well, since I happen to watch Hetalia sometimes (more like thinks about it non-stop), I'm subjected to quite a few accents. The main ones I think are sexy are British, Russian (popular, huh?) and French. And, of course, you can't forget the ones I love to try out. Namely Japanese and Italian. And sometimes French, too. :3 EDIT: Well, I realized I left a few things out. Australian accents are kinda cool as well, which is great, since I have five Australian cousins and two Australian aunts. Yay! Also, not to be confused, Austrian accents are simply amazing. I'm from Minnesota, but I don't think I have that whole "You betcha" thing goin' on here. I'm a pretty typical American as far as how I sound. Also, @LanceTheTurtle, your sig... :3 I love it. QuirkyUsername 1,576 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 I also dig Australian accents for some reason too lol. I am jealous of the Australians because I think their accent is just sexy I also really like Irish, Australian and Russian accents. Aussie. Aussie Aussie Aussie Aussie. Good lord I love those accents. They're so awesome. ...And really sexy on girls. My future wife will be Australian, you can count on that. Mate. British, Russian, and Australian are my top faves. I would prefer to speak with an Australian accent myself certainly nothing wrong with a good Australian accent, whether male or female Teehee stop guyz seriously though Aussie accents are better on the foreign end I've been told I have a thick accent but can't hear it for the life of me or anyone elses for that matter XD But personal favourites. I love German and Russian but they generally mean someone is evil (in vidya games and movies at least) I used to work with a guy who came from England and MADE him talk to me cuz I loved his accent. When I was in the states American's had pretty cool accent although I could never enjoy a Bostonian accent >.> I apologise to anyone with one. French, Italian, Irish, Spanish. Pretty much any accent gets quirky points in the end but I can't say I've ever heard one I think is sexy XD......yet at least 1 This adorable ball of glorious fluff that is my avatar is the creation of the glamorous Laika Hey so Johari
Thrashy 2,800 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 (edited) As far as domestic accents, I'd say I'm a big fan of southern accents, especially when spoken by females...not so much the hillbillyish "I murried mah cuzzin" ones, more your typical Texan accent. (For the record, totally agree with EP that AJ's accent = smexy as all hell. There's just some kind of rural charm about it.) Other U.S. accents I like are those of of North Carolinians and, for some bizarre reason, Minnesotans. As for foreign accents, I like many of the different British accents when spoken by males, but I find them kind of irritating with females...at least ones with higher pitched voices. Australian is appealing to me as well. For some reason I also find charm in various Hispanic accents, especially when spoken by women. Female Slavic accents nice, and male Germanic accents sound pretty cool. (For some reason, I'm not a fan of German or Dutch girls' vocal timbre - it sounds like they're speaking from the back of their throats, if that makes any sense. Kinda makes them sound...a little manly. No offense, of course! ) Edited September 17, 2013 by Thrashy
Tual 152 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 The Australian accent has always been a favourite of mine. I haven't a clue, but..I dunno.. It's kind of a lucky coinkiedink, because my significant other is an Aussie. I'd love his voice without said accent of course, but..<33333~ (We actually kinda started talking at first due to it, too. Friend of us was all " ERMERGERD. HE'S AN AUSSIE. LET'S GET HIM." and I had never heard his voice prior. :U ...Yeah. It's a very nice accent. There is just something about it. Ahao~ The Engrish! <3 In any one of America's character songs, the writers give Konishi some phrases and some verses entirely in English and the chance you'll be able to understand them is about 62%. It's adorable. Hearing "sank you~!" at the end of W.D.C World Dancing~?! . Well, since I happen to watch Hetalia sometimes (more like thinks about it non-stop), I'm subjected to quite a few accents. Keyfur 40 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 I've never understood why some people describe accents as "sexy" or "beautiful". To me, someone's accent only reveals where they grew up.

Inactive01 5,299 September 18, 2013 Share September 18, 2013 The formal British accent just sounds very... English. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH ! But I digress. I've always loved to joke about the Singaporean accent. They always end their sentences with "lah", just like how Canadians often end their sentences with "eh". I've always loved to listen to French accents. It just sounds so... refined.

Galen 1,354 September 18, 2013 Share September 18, 2013 I'm kind of apathetic toward accents at this stage considering I've heard about hundreds of variants of one accent or another. That's what happens after living in a city like London for about 8 years, studying in an international university and working for a huge company like Bloomberg where people often speak more than one language, often even more than two. However, I can tell you which languages themselves sound really fascinating or sexy. Japanese, Spanish and Portugese being some of them.
