I'm not quite sure I follow - GTA V's map is enormous, just about any way you measure it. Sure, most of the missions revolve around LS, but there's more than a few that require you to cross the map. And even at that, what is the point of playing a GTA game if you're not going to go and discover every little detail on the map? The amounts of exploring and goofing off in the countryside you can do is ridiculous. I can't count the number of times I've been romping it about in the wilderness, and stopped to look around for a second and wonder, "Where the hell am I"?

 

What I mean is most activity and missions take place in Los Santos that strictly from a storyline perspective, there's not much of a need to go out of LS very often. Admittedly, I haven't really taken the time to explore the map for the sake of it, tho I will when I get the game back for another playthrough. At any rate, one thing that would interest me is going around the entire map on a car and then a mountain bike. That will be a lot of fun!

 

Think of it like this; GTA V basically cut out the bottom portion of San Andreas' map, blew it up two to four times larger, and added 10x the detail.O

 

On another note, I can't be the only one whom who takes admittedly sick pleasure in running down the herds of deer.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I do agree with you to an extent; Los Santos is definitely the storyline headquarters, but I'm glad the developers took the time and attention to detail the rest of the map as wonderfully as they did the city. I feel the story wouldn't have been nearly as interesting if it lacked these outer areas. Not to mention, again, the exploring!

It was kind of disturbing at first, but I couldn't help but be amused at Trevor; just the right blend of psychotic and creepy to make the experience tolerable.

Alright, I relented and got it. I'm on Playstation, so I'm not sure what's needed to add me - I'm Katana314 on Rockstar Social Club, and PvtLastClass on PSN. I haven't tried the online yet, but I'd like to do that with friends.

 

I also followed the tutorial to convert an image for the emblem editor - before I knew how to even reach it. So, hopefully I figure that out sometime soon.

I have played it, but didn't really felt attracted by the game. OP cops everywhere, and I've seen kids kill animals for fun (My friend's brother). So well, nope.

The kids were playing GTA V, killing a bunch of things, while we (10 people), were having fun with super smash bros brawl and mario kart. Kids these days...

Been playing the online, and I've noticed a sort of "ghost train" it was kinda creepy.it's abnormally longer than a regular train in the game.....it also travels MUCH slwoer. There is also no engine at the front of it....the cars are moving by themselves. I rammed my car up to them,but they didn't stop...as I figured. But the thing is a proper train, with an engine came barreling down the same tracks, andgoes through the ghost train as ifit were,well...a ghost.Though the real train is also going the usual speed it should be and hits my car....and the "ghost train" is still there...I've seen this"ghost train"3 or 4 times now. Usually when I exit my garage, as I own thegarage beside the tracks,underneath the power station.

Also,sometime next week there's going to be an update, and with that update, Rockstar will start giving out their "Stimulus" package for all their online mishaps..in total, anyone who plays online in October will be eligible for this....and that is $500,000 for online. Half will be deposited sometime next week, and the other half will be deposited sometime in the future, date is unconfirmed as to when.

For anyone having a hard time making money,here's an easy way to make some.

 

go to the spillways and find the land race "Down The Drain" get at least 2 friends.and set it for 1 lap race.alternating who wins, after 5-6 races won, you'll have an easy $50k or so. Me and my friends found this out on a fluke....so we'll spend an hour or so doing the same race and have $100,000 by the end of it all.and you'll also go up a level or two, depending on how high lvl you are.

 

If you do it on your own you'll just get RP and no cash.

 

and a glitch...no matter what class you run, as long as you have at least 2-3 people in your races, the wins willcount towards Engine and transmission unlocks for your cars, no matter what class you race in.

2: go toany convenience store

3:Kill the clerk and steal the cash

4: Press Start and go to online

5: Join New Session

6: Repeat steps 3-5

 

Rare trucks and cars...I found the Rat Loader today....my new favourite cruising vehicle. Tons of mods out there for it....

Rockstar Games would need to remove the auto-kick from going idle while inside a safehouse/garage. It's a bit annoying when you're trying to take a break. 

 

Also, the TV is pretty low, no matter how hard you try and raise the volume in GTA V. I had to raise my actual TV volume up to 60 just for me to hear it. Not cool.

I have, yes. The volume from the TV in GTA V is still low, no matter how hard I try to raise it up.

That's chump change! Wanna know how how to get lots of money really quick? Like, 6 million or more an hour?

 

1. Trick out a Sultan you own as much as you can so that its resale value is about 100k.
2. Drive it into a pay n spray and sell it.
3. As soon as youve confirmed your sale and see the '+$100,000' in the upper right corner of the screen, press pause
4. Go to the online tab, and go to swap character
5. Choose the character you just had
6. Youll respawn in your house with the Sultan still in your garage, but youre 100,000 bucks richer, and you can go sell it again right away with no delay period of 1 in game day!

Anyone complaining about the presence of side missions in games needs to quit gaming. They're optional, quit crying.
 
As for the game itself, it's one of the best games I've ever played. It doesn't quite beat Red Dead (so far, I'm only 60% through) but it is the first GTA to have worthwhile characters in a long time. CJ was a lousy character and Niko was just joyless and awful but the three here are actually very enjoyable. The story's crammed full of great stuff and of significant length. The side missions are amusing, the various alien-related easter eggs are intriguing, and the minigames are of notable quality. The golf minigame is better than any actual golf game made. I miss bowling but it would have to be revamped to work here. GTA4's "HEY LET'S GO BOWLING" approach was one of that game's many blatant failures. I also don't care for the lack of basketball despite the presence of hoops, and the lack of gambling despite the presence of casinos. I do like the more detailed hooker scenarios though. Just small details to add to the world, and the game is STUFFED with them.
 
 
The heists are a highlight, obviously, and even the lesser missions will vary the dialogue on replays...Plus cutscenes and dialogue change somewhat depending on the character used as well. The three-character setup is just brilliant (the transitions even moreso...I have no idea how Trevor ended up in the middle of the ocean in his underpants but it was great) and I can't see how returning to a singular affair would go down well. And frankly, I just love tracking down the other guys in the game world and seeing how that plays out. Once while playing Michael, Franklin found me in his pool and called me a stalker. I then proceeded to stalk him until he punched me in the face and I shot him in the head. Shortly afterward, I received an angry text and a hospital bill. Another time, Amanda (Mike's wife) beat me (Mike) at tennis so I drove off without her. Angry text ensued. Dev team thought of (mostly) everything.
 
I do like how the bought properties have their own little side missions to maintain them but I do wish there was more variety there, more involvement. And I've consistently failed to stop thefts or make supply pickups and deliveries for the Hen House (Trevor owns it) but I have not seen any negative effect to my profits...That's a downside. The inability to remove tops and bottoms is a big flaw. I want Trevor rampaging in his underwear, c'mon! Also the inability to draw weapons in stores or otherwise rob anybody is a bother.
 
The selfie option, while amusing, is severely dragged down by the closeness of the shot. I can't set up great pics because it insists on a close-up of Trevor's ugly mug. The revamped wanted system is great though. I always hated how cops in older games just seemed to be wizards. Once in this game, I escaped the cops by running around a car, stealing a car at a red light, and then just sitting there as they ran right past. Though it isn't perfect, as they've often still seemed rather wizardy...The more arcadey vehicles are a massive improvement over GTA4's heavy realistic garbage, and aircraft do handle much more nicely but the wobble of helicopters and their tendency to drift even when you're not moving are major annoyances.
 
The stock market is a very underwhelming element. Aside from the Lester missions, it's entirely worthless. Sure, you can buy into Taco Bomb, then go trash the Cluckin' Bell farms but the amount of maintained destruction needed to make any significant change in stock prices is ridiculous. And by the time you lose your wanted level from all that destruction, it's dropped back down anyway. A miserably squandered aspect of the game, truly disappointing...
 
The TV shows are entertaining, but the movies aren't varied enough. I keep wanting to catch a flick but all that ever plays is The Loneliest Robot or that awful foreign thing (the first time I saw it, I was so frustrated by its awfulness that I immediately pulled out a shotgun and started a massacre)...The drunken effect is always a nice detail but it doesn't last anywhere near long enough. It's GTA, I wanna go drunk-racing. Can't do it though. Also, text responses should be multiple-choice. For all the details Rockstar thought of, they missed out on a lot of more obvious stuff. Car customization is very good but the horn options are completely moronic. Nobody wants or needs five musical horn options. All I can ever get is the stock horn or truck horn because the rest are dumb music tunes. And the iFruit app is TERRIBLE. The LS Customs part never worked at all and having to pause the game to play dumb Chop minigames is just utterly stupid. I trained the little shit, now just let me do tricks and throw out that damned happiness meter! Plus, why isn't it an in-game app? That's a very bad miss, Rockstar...
 
A fault of GTA in general is how the commentary informs the gameplay. Yes, Rockstar, I know you have this super-important message about the vapid superficiality of Hollywood America. Yes, superficial jerks do love shiny cars. No, constantly making me detour to a carwash because my chrome racecar is regularly coated in dirt thanks to your insistence on making that commentary is not fun so quit doing that. And making all the rare cars and properties so expensive that they can't even be bought in one regular playthrough might add to your message about the vanity of wealth but IT'S NOT FUN.
 
Rockstar, I accept that you're pretentious as hell and insist that your games strive at some manner of deep social commentary or whatever, but if your commentary is getting in the way of FUN, you're not doing your job as a game developer. *aside glance to Saints' Row franchise, thumbs up*

So far, I'm loving Content Creator, even though it only has Race and Deathmatch options to choose from (would've been great if they added Survival and LTS for me to create). I created two contents (one race and one DM), such as Around the Dam and De-Construct, in case you care are curious and all.

WellI have mixed feelings about this new update.

 

I love how I was able to change my characters features, as he looked like a strung out junkie, now he looks like a human. and the fact you can run in your apartment and garage now.I"m not sure how much of an "increase" in race winnings there is because last  update I barely made $1,000 for first and before that I was making $10,000 a race.

 

The one thing bugs me, why'd they get rid of the Rat-Loader? I got it legit, unlocked upgrades made for it as I leveled up...had over $100,000 spent on it and loved it. It was one of my fave vehicles. This is rubbish. I want my Rat-Loader back. It wasn't causing anyone any harm. These trucks are classified as "Muscle" cars/trucks in the real world, as well as they were before the 1.07 update....I still have my Dirty rebel and my Clean Tornado.....but I want my Rat-Loader. The handling and braking sucked but it was still a fun vehicle just to drive around in.
