music Best & Worst Experiences at a Concert

The best? Probably seeing the Toasters when I was 16. They played at a small venue near my house and it was just an epic show. It was my birthday and at the time, they were my favorite band. I got up on stage, danced, got to meet them afterwards. They were just really cool guys who were really sweet to let an akward 16 year old girl get all "omg its my birthday!!" all over their show. Props to them.

My 2nd best show was probably seeing STS9 & Infected Mushroom at Camp Bisco in 2006. That was epic.

The worst? I went the shindig concert a few weekends ago and had a great time... until DKM played. My bf and I found a spot right in front of the stage about 30 minutes before the set in order to ensure we would be close. The couple behind us did the same. We were talking to everyone around us and getting ready and excited for the show to start when I feel something hot and wet on the back of my leg. I look behind me and the dude is fcuking peeing all over me! I freaked out and started screaming at him doing everything in my power not to let my rage turn physical. My boyfriend quieted me down and was saying, "Yeah it's fcuked up, fcuk that guy, but getting in a fight in a crowd is a horrible idea! He was just wasted." I couldn't calm down I was SO angry. The dude wanders off but his grilfriend just stood there like an idiot. I started yelling at her, until I realized it wasn't worth it, not her problem. But she shouldn't stand there saying sorry she should leave and go take care of her dumbass boyfriend who obviously needs her help, as he doesn't even know where he was. Anyway, I spent the entire show soaked in some dudes piss. That really sucked.

Yours? Tell us a story ;)

The best was my second, when I went to see Saga in a small theater. The sound was epic, the songs awesome, the show was simply incredible! smile.png Here's a part of the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBNf_7Rwn0g

I can hear my voice at 4:40, also xD

And the worst was probably Scorpions. It was not my music style, and quite boring.

I also saw ZZ Top, but it wasn't the same experience as Saga.

Best was probably seeing the Pixies live. They literally played my dream set list, and it was their last tour with Kim Deal on bass.

The worst was probably Motorhead, two years ago. Not because of the band, they played a fantastic show, but because halfway through I was much too drunk and ended up stumbling head-first into someones bar table, spilling their beers all over me and cutting the side of my head open. That sucked.

Eh? Nandatte?

It doesn't get much better than that! Sounds like a blast, where was the show?

As for motorhead, yeah I've been there. Artscape 2011 I feel on the way back to the lightrail & busted my chin open. Should've gotten stiches but didn't now I have this awful scar right in the middle of my chin, HA! Did you need stiches or anything? I assume you're alright now, two years later...

I've been to only a few concerts, because I hate most American bands and the bands I like don't tour much in the US. I saw Dragonforce in Chicago. They were with a couple other bands that I didn't know and I did not like their music. When Dragonforce came on, some asshole behind me kept yelling "you suck" at them. It's not the worst thing that could happen, but it was annoying.

I saw GWAR a few times. They always put on a great show, if you're into getting sprayed with fake blood. I did that a couple times, but the other times I saw them I stayed in the back so I wouldn't get sprayed. Oderus doesn't even enunciate the words usually. Most of his singing is just him yelling "bah bah bah" and even when I know the song I can't understand him. Still, their shows crack me up.

Mmm. Concerts are so fun, I've been to a decent amount of concerts! My best experience was going to a U2 concert. There were thousands of people, lots of bright lights and U2 sounded AMAZING live. A lot of bands/artists don't sound as good live as they do on a CD. It was an unforgettable night. My worst experience was when I was at a rock concert. I don't remember the band, actually. But I do remember a body falling on me when I was standing near the moshpit. Heh heh..yeah, that was pretty bad. I mean, I can't say that I've actually had a bad time, because I got to see live music! And seeing live music is always a treat..but I wouldn't go back. :)

I saw Avenged Sevenfold (with Black Veil Brides, Hollywood Undead, and Asking Alexandria) at the Target Center a year ago. It was pretty damn epic to see some of my favorite bands in a big arena style concert like that.

My worst concert experience...Warped Tour. It's hot as all hell, there is NO shade, and the damned people working there don't let you go sit in your car, cool off, then go back into the Warped Tour concert place.

Had a few bad concert experiences for different reasons. Saw Megadeth on the 2012 Gigantour. It was an OK show, wasn't as big a fan of theirs then as I am now, and honestly I thought both them and Motorhead got upstaged by Volbeat, but it was a pain when I had to deal with a bunch of screaming girls behind be and a 7 ft tall dude in front of me. But the worst parts were when I got my new CD, gloves and key chain stolen off of my jacket (last time I'm ever taking it to a show) then my friend and I had to search for an hour trying to find where we parked.

Next worse experience was last February when I went and saw Shinedown w/ Three Days Grace & P.O.D. The only thing available was nosebleed seats. Tried to sneak down to the floor but my brother stopped me and was a total ass about it. I was depressed and miserable for the majority of the 3DG set. I only got cheered up when they started to sing about suicide and breaking stuff, go figure. I probably would've had a better time if my bro and the row behind me didn't keep telling me to sit down and stay in my seat. Last time I ever get seats at a show.

And finally, the last worst time I had at a show was when I went to see Flyleaf & Story of the Year, and I lost my wallet just before Flyleaf came on. I worried about it for the rest of the show until I got it back at the lost and found.

Best experiences I had started back with my 1st ever concert when I saw Matchbox 20, got to up past the barricade, fist bump the guitarist and revive a pick. A bunch of people up front wanted to trade me. Good thing my mom stopped me, I probably would have (I was a gullible kid back then). Other cool experiences were when I got to see Demon Hunter and talk with the band after the show. Another good time was when I saw Cold back in 2011 and got to talk with the opening acts Loosing Scarlet, Oceans Divide and Kopek. Just a very chill rock concert.

Most recently Gigantour 2013 is up there as far as best concerts. I was late for the first act Death Division but had fun with the rest of the show, had a blast in the Newstead circle pit, tried not to get too beat up during the Hellyeah set, loved the ballad sung during the Device set, listened in awe at Zakk Wylde's never ending Guitar solo and redeemed myself for the 2012 Gigantour fiasco and thoroughly enjoyed the Megadeth set.

Oddly enough one of the worst concert experiences turned out to be one of my best. Prior to loosing my wallet before Flyleaf came on, my favorite band Story of the Year was playing. Upset some little girls up front when I said that Flyleaf should be opening for them. But yeah I knew the lyrics to all their songs and had fun in the circle pit.  My voice was so sore the next day.

Overall, my concert experiences in life have been enjoyable.
