Babs Seed Opinions (One Bad Apple)

Hello everypony. It's been a while since I've been active on here but I have decided to create a video analysing Babs Seed as a character. I want to involve both positive and negative opinions, so any pony who so wishes can express themselves honestly (and critically) about how they feel about Apple Bloom's cousin.

 

Any and all opinions welcome.

well the first time i watched the episode i thought babs seed was a bad word i cant say on here but then at the end i think i felt bad for her getting bullyed all the time so she started to bully back i did that to when i was in elementry school but im all fine and dandy now so ya. o and this is a good topic keep it going

So, your opinion is: Despite Babs' multiple accounts of bullying, she can be excused because she is only a young filly, and every pony makes mistakes. (Forgive me if I am wrong)

ya mainly because torwards the end of the episode she well not her but apple jack did she said that the only reason babs was bullying people is because she was bullyed when she was young so ya you pretty much got it right ya.

the moral of the episode is terrible. (telling a grown up is usually a bad idea, it gets worse)

though babs seen was a nice character and I loved seeing him/her return.. (i dunno if it is a boy or girl.....)

Through personal experience, bullying is a hard one to get out of. You are always told to tell a responsible adult, yet my parents simply said "Just ignore them" or "tell a teacher" (and the teachers usually just told the bullies to stop and leave it at that). But I digress, although the moral of her episode is arguably a bad one (yes, Babs is a girl ) this is more of an analysis of her character, whether she is valued by our fellow bronies or frowned upon for her mistakes.

You know, a lot of people say that Babs should still be punished for doing what she did even though she apologized, and I honestly say eff you guys. Since they all like saying that in life people should be punished for mistakes, I will come out and say that life is full of mistakes. We, as humans, will always make mistakes. Sometimes we might hurt someone, and if you can't accept an apology which basically is admitting "I was wrong you are right I'm sorry I'm never going to do that again" you anger me as a human.

Hmm I was thinking a little.

Babs seed reminds me a lot of Gilda...

though at the end you see she have a heart and not just a mean pony.

It was probably why I loved to see her return.

The only real similarity between her and Gilda though, is the way they treated every pony else. They had differing reasons for their actions - Gilda was a lot older, but had been so used to looking down on every pony all her life that her venom was through arrogance and vanity (a path that Rainbow Dash could have unluckily followed if she hadn't met her new friends), Babs Seed simply took sides. Worn out from the exhaustion of fending off bullies in her school, she saw the opportunity to avoid being a victim and took it.

Honestly, I REALLY like Babs Seed. In fact, she's my second favorite CMC, right behind Sweetie Belle. Babs Seed may have been rude during a majority of One Bad Apple but she learned her lesson at the end and even stood up to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. As long as she stands up to the bullies back home (and now there's more ponies who want to join the CMC in Manehatten), she won't be bullying any time soon. She's the type of character who actually learns her lesson and will most likely not have to learn it again.

 

Her color scheme is odd, but I still kind of like it. I actually like her accent as well.

 

I think she's a really adorable pony...

But then, I saw the truth; she's just a bully from the east

Babs was one of those characters you had to watch multiple times to really appreciate who she is and what she does.  Her design was great, and that's one of the main reasons she is my 2nd favorite CMC.  I re-watched the episode multiple times (It's one of my favorites) and after a while I ended up really liking the character.  The voice was hard to get used to, but after a while I started to really like how different it was.
