Why a great part of our fandom has such deep,burning hatred towards Sonic the hedgehog? I really like Sonic games and i've played many classics too.For example,whenever i go to Derpibooru,every Sonic-related art has an awful lot of downvotes,even if it's not a pairing.But then again,we gotta keep in mind that Derpibooru is the Mos Eisley of the fandom

I really don't see much hate towards Sonic the Hedgehog. I actually met a brony at my school who likes Sonic. I personally have nver played the newer Sonic games. Heard from Sonic fans they were terrible except for Colors. I have played a couple of the first ones though and they were fun.

I never even know the fandom had a hatred towards sonic the hedgehog. I think the game is ok. I just HATE how they are always getting different voice actors every now and then. Other than that, I have no complaints about it.

I haven't seen a whole lot of hate for sonic from the brony fandom, but I have seen it. I personally enjoy the games...in fact, I like the 3D ones more than the 2D ones. I don't really get the hate for Sonic altogether, honestly. I have always liked it more than Mario, that's for sure. It all has to do with nostalgia-obsessed fans more than anything...they annoy me so damn much.

Completely unaware of any hate pointed at Sonic. Maybe some anger at how the franchise has been handled, but that's pretty much identical to how the *Sonic* fandom views the franchise as I understand it.

You see,the main reason i asked this is cause i saw the Rival Fandoms page on TvTropes and it said that MLP and Sonic fandoms don't get along quite well...but then again,not all tropers are trusty...It did say however that bronies and Legend of Korra fans share a mutual dislike

But anyway, I never really noticed anything. Theres some pretty funny youtube videos be some guy who never really seems to favor one over the other.

We don't hate sonic, we just think shadow is a much better character with an actual backstory and really cool powers. Not holding a grudge or anything.

Every single time you see some ten year old who's username is something like "XSONICISTEHBESTTHINGEVERX391I3" posting in all caps and without punctuation (Which actually happens quite often), you will know why the Sonic fandom gets picked on a lot. I don't have a dislike for Sonic or even it's fandom, just those members of it's fandom who kind of ruin everybody else's perception of it.

 

In fact the same kind of phenomena has a lot to do with why so many people hate the brony fandom.

I'm an ex-Sonic fan, but the infamy of the Sonic fandom has existed before the brony fandom. I don't see a bunch of bronies complain about their fandom as you claim. In fact, I feel there are plenty of bronies who enjoy Sonic as well, while others don't care for it at all.

This is news to me. I never noticed any kind of brony hatred towards Sonic the Hedgehog before. I myself still love the original Saturday morning series (Sonic SatAM) and have it on DVD.

I doubt its just the Brony community. Maybe its select members from different fandoms? Every individual person has their likes and dislikes. So, if just one person in the Brony community hates Star Wars, doe that mean every Brony hates Star Wars? No it doesn't.

 

Personally, I do not like Sonic. I see it as the same old copy and pasted game every time, just like CoD and FIFA. These games have changed gaming in a VERY NEGATIVE way. They just never seem to change...

 

So, my point is, everyone has their likes and dislikes. Just because one person hates something doesn't mean everyone hates it!

I noticed it every now and then on Derpibooru. I don't necessarily hate Sonic. I like it, but everyone has their likes and dislikes. I have no hate towards Sega and Sonic. The only thing I hate about Sonic is not Sonic himself or the franchise. It's those retro nostalgia idiots who take it too far who need to disappear from the face of the planet.

Haven't noticed it to be honest, actually what I've seen is actually that we like doing crossovers with Sonic the Hedgehog. Comics, animation as well as art. I thought most bronies like Sonic, but maybe not. I just haven't noticed it if this is true. I like Sonic and I like seeing crossovers with him and Rainbow Dash, but maybe that's just me.

Much like everyone else here I've never seen this hate. If I had to guess anything that it would because of the infamy of the recent games, (with the pinnacle of it being '06) and that the blue blur has become less great over the years. I personally love Sonic the Hedgehog.

If anything the Pony community would like Sonic more as he has a very similar personality as everyone's favorite aerial ace.

I've never seen that much hate towards the Sonic fandom in the MLP fandom, and most bronies I've met seem to like Sonic. There are a few people who are going to hate it, but that happens with pretty much everything.

 

I'm not part of the Sonic fandom, as I've only played a few of the earlier games, so I'm pretty neutral towards them. I don't like the really obsessive fans, though.

For serious, I have never seen any hate towards Sonic coming from the brony fandom. Call me nuts, but I don't see a whole lot of reason why they should hate it. The 2 are surprising similar to each other in terms of character personalities and a few other things which I can't remember off the top of my head.

I haven't really noticed that much hate between the bronies and sonic fans really. I know that a good majority of the bronies hate Sonic x Rainbow Dash shippings, but that's about it really.

 

Like some other posters have already stated here, it could be mostly because of unwanted nostalgia or over-obsessiveness of the franchise.

 

Ironic, considering the hate and ridicule some of us bronies get for "obsessing" over our own franchise.
