Steel nodded the walked over to his pile and put everything back one he revues in his bag and pulled out the pain pills and gave some to the ponies that needed it "if you need more just let me know ok" steel said to the group after he had passed out the pills he then took two himself in case they didn't want to take them because they didn't trust him,he figured that since he didn't even look at the pills before taking them would show that they all had the same pills.

Pavisa turned to Chivalry with a silent rage in her eyes.  As she spoke her voice was quiet, trembling with anger.  "You have the nerve to call ME an idiot after that stunt you pulled!?  What part of 'he read half of the Litany, an all-powerful artifact' are you forgetting!?  The enemy was obviously unstable, possessing powers that we can only imagine, and you tried to attack him head on without any kind of plan!"

 

If the mare had been quiet when she began, she was yelling by now.  The more she spoke the angrier she seemed to get.  "You do realize practically everypony in the woods was wounded just by being in the vicinity of his spells?  If any of those had actually hit us, we would be burying somepony tonight!  Our only hope was to let him leave so we could plan for our next encounter, which you would see if you would think with something other than your sword!"  She thrusts her hoof towards the unconscious form of Silver Heart.  "If you had let him leave unopposed, everything would have been fine.  Every injury from that fight can be laid at YOUR hooves!"

 

Pavisa yanked her helmet off, revealing a fresh trickle of blood making its way down her face from somewhere under her mane.  She stepped up closer to Chivalry, still practically trembling with rage.  "This isn't some personal quest for glory - everything you do affects the rest of the expedition.  If you're so eager to get killed than fine, but next time leave the rest of us out of your suicide plans!"

Rakon nodded, "A normal person doesn't need a lot of weapons.  Sounds like they are various types of tools he uses for murder.  I do hope he doesn't fool anyone into letting him into the group." Rakon said. "I also wonder what the rest of the folks are up to."  He said glancing in the direction where he thought he saw some lightning. 

"Should we go find out?" Sand asked. She had seen some lightning off in the distance and she was slightly curious about where it might have come from. Then again... I nearly died once already, maybe it's not safe to go out there again. She remembered. She had almost forgotten how dangerous the forest was already, even if she had just gotten back.

Actually, maybe we should just stay here..." Sand decided. She decided that if Rakon assumed staying was safer, she wouldn't go. She wasn't going to go if staying was safer. She always liked doing what was safest unless it meant saving somepony. As long as I stay away from danger, I should be fine, but the minute they seem like they're in trouble... She didn't finish her thought, not having a plan that far yet. She only knew it would involve saving them.

"What do I have to do to stop you following me?!" Growled Orion as his eyes locked on the aggressive thug from before.

 

He glanced sideways at the mare who was clearly here with the group that had just tried to kill him. "You... you led them here?" He thought out loud before turning back to the bandit, horn cracking.

 

"I told you I didn't want to hurt you! You couldn't leave well enough alone, could you?"

 

Surging from the horn, the bolts of lightning started the circle the Alicorn - rogue sparks emitting from them whenever they came close to anything and leaving deep burn marks behind. He didn't want to risk trying to learn another new spell: each time seemed to make the headaches worse.

 

"Both of you, leave! Now!"

Kingfisher assessed the pony for a moment: she was used to lies - it was something ponies traveling with Red tended to pick up quickly - but she couldn't pin down just how much of his story wasn't true.

 

"Touch me or Red an' you sleep the long 'un. Otherwise pull ya' weight an' we'll get on fine." She shrugged. "Midnight, Blizzard: keep an eye on him."

 

She wasn't in a position to make decisions like that: Red was better at that sort of thing than she was. Leaving the responsibility to the ones that found him seemed like that best idea.

Turning to face the pony who had destroyed her cover earlier, she shook her head and groaned - with Red missing, the doctor out cold and the rest of the group nursing their own wounds...

 

"Hey, Cap'n smiley. C'mere 'n' let me see ya' leg." She called out to Crimson. 

 

 

Crimson turned hesitantly to Kingfisher, "what is it? I'm still on guard duty...wait...my leg? what are you talking about? what's wrong with my leg?" asked Crimson in  confusion before looking down at his left foreleg to see that it was indeed broken, causing him to raise an eyebrow, "huh...I didn't notice that before...sorry, I guess I've broken my bones so many times that I just got used to the pain...but whatever, don't worry about me sweetie, I've been through a lot worse than this, I'll be fine" said Crimson with a shrug before turning back to guard his post.

 

((LOL I have a feeling Kingfisher isn't gonna like that "sweetie" comment! sorry, I just play out my characters personalities, I don't always support them. XD ))

Blast simply rolled his eyes. This alicorn was as stubborn as a mule. Blast had a suspicion that the Litany probably corrupted his subconscious. He couldn't really prove it, though. He knew little to nothing about this piece of paper. He smirked at the alicorn.

"You need to be a bit more careful about your words and actuons out there, man. They could get you into some trouble." He said with cockiness in his voice. "Like reading a magical piece of writing you know absolutely nothing about."

Rakon said, not sure what winged ponies were called but sure they could, as he said, could fly away from any danger on the ground.

She glanced back into the woods: certain that something had caught her eye but seeing nothing when her attention was turned to it. Shrugging, she turned back.

"Didn't." Corrected Orion with a snort of pain. "It taught me things... taught me everything I'll ever need to protect myself. Nggh..! To protect her."
 
The sparks weren't enough, it seemed. This second pony though, this mare... she hadn't attacked him... not yet.
 
"And you need to learn Nggh..! to fear me!"
 
Stomping a hoof, the ground shuddered outwards like waves in a sea of earth. Sparks crackled across the ground, arching towards the hooves of his target. Grimacing, he reared back and fired a bolt of lightning at Blast: thinking ahead enough to aim this time.

"We have a camp not too far from..." Redwave trailed off: if the party was as as he suspected then they would probably act on a 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach. Exactly the opposite of what this filly needed. "... on further consideration, perhaps not the greatest of ideas."

 

He ambled about the area for a moment.

 

"We could set up camp for you here? It is secluded and out of the way... you could await your brothers return?"

 

'And perhaps I can discover something about him in the process...'

"Course Kingfisher." Blizzard said quickly. He hadn't even planned on not keeping an eye on Steel, until Steel proved himself Blizzard would be watching him like a hawk. He watched especially closely when Steel went around passing out pills, possibly pain killers, to the injured ponies, just in case they were some sort of poison, but when Steel took some of his own pills Blizzard got the feeling that the container wasn't rigged and thus the pills must be safe.

 

Midnight barely even acknowledged that Kingfisher had said anything to him as he walked over to where the Pavisa and Chivalry were yelling at each other. While normally Midnight would try to avoid involvement, an argument this big could tear their group apart, which they really didn't need after that beating they got at the hooves of this mystery alicorn. "How about you two quit arguing about who did the wrong thing! You both had good intentions, based on what you've been yelling, but regardless of who's idea was better, it's in the past now! Arguing about it won't do anypony any good, so instead we should focus on tending to our wounded and planning on how we'll handle our next run-in with this alicorn. So could the two of you just drop it, now is not the time for infighting." Midnight said in a lecture kind of voice, like an officer scolding his troops or a parent scolding their child. After he finished his little lecture, Midnight didn't back down but he did feel a tad awkward about getting himself so involved in the dispute.

Crimson sighed and hesitantly held out his hoof but still kept watching for intruders and guarding, "fine! but only because I want to get on your good side...I still hope all of you will forgive me for acting like an ass and actually trust me...but I don't see that happening anytime soon, oh well, I'm used to it anyway, I've been a pirate for most of my life anyway...so people tend not trust me..." said Crimson.

The lightning bolt hit Blast right where it meant to land. The bolt sent him smack into a giant rock. The electric shock from the bolt dealt catastrophic damage to Blast internally. It also left plenty of burns and marks on his chest and head. He staggered upon getting up and was breathing very hard.

"Fear you...? I think you should be fearing yourself. You think I'd be scared? You're not even powerful enough to know your own strength." Blast used his remaining strength to activate Sonic Blast and smirked at the alicorn. "I never even wanted to hurt you in the first place. Now, you've just made it personal... I think you should walk away and regain your closure if you don't want me to send you flying high into the sky..."

You..." Chivalry was at a loss for words. "DAMN IT!" Yelled Chivalry as he angrily walked off without saying another word. 'By the time we think of a plan, who knows how much more skillful he may become with his powers. Our effort will be fruitless, at least at the first encounter, he would have no experience with his spells. But now we have just given him time to learn them and become more masterful of them. DAMN IT! I have to find him, and sadly, I must kill him." Chivalry thought to himself as he snuck away from the camp. 'For the sake and safety of our group, this may be foolish, but nopony will listen to me, except maybe Blast. I must find him.'

"Huh." Grunted Kingfisher as she glanced over to Midnight giving his lecture.

Shrugging and turning back to the task at hoof, she stretched the leg out and slammed her own down across it, forcing it roughly into shape with a jarring crunch. Her stomach clenched and breath caught as it did - the same way they always did at that sound - but she didn't let it show.
 
"Never said I was a doctor..." She muttered, unhooking one of the cloth bands from around her foreleg and binding a vaguely-straight piece of wood to the limb. "... but that should do 'till she wakes up."
 
Beating the leg a few times to ensure it was securely bound in place, she shrugged and released it.
 
"Red does. Doesn't like ya'... but he trusts you."

Orion thought for a moment: it was getting harder each time he tapped into new abilities from the Litany... of course, sometimes the simplest solutions are the most effective. Perhaps he didn't need to use any of the elder knowledge after all.

 

His horn flashed twice: two teleport spells. One on himself, once again retreating into the forest. The other aimed directly at the ground: targeted directly into the sky above them.

Pavisa glared at Midnight as he interjected into the argument, but didn't say anything.  He wasn't there.  He's not the one you're mad at.  Without another word she huffed angrily, still furious at Chivalry as she trotted back over to check on the prone form of Silver Heart.  She's still knocked out...  Forcing herself to calm down, she turned to speak to Midnight.  To her credit, she only partially sounded like she wanted to kick somepony.  "The group's medic is unconscious.  My first aid training is minimal, can you take a look at her?"

After leaving Silver Heart with Midnight, Pavisa trotted over to check on Kingfisher and Crimson.  "How is he?"  She directed the question at the both of them, still trying to keep the anger out of her voice.  It seemed as if he had a broken leg, but it looked to her like Kingfisher was taking care of it.

Crimson didn't even flinch as Kingfisher snapped his arm back in place, in fact he chuckled, "if I knew you were just gonna snap the damn thing back in place, then I would have just done it myself, like I always have, but still, I guess its better than nothing..." said Crimson before rolling his wrist and popping it. Crimson then looked at Pavisa with a smile, "I'm fine, just a minor annoyance, but thanks for caring." said Crimson kindly, showing genuine kindness in his tone and smile.

Midnight nodded to Pavisa before turning his attention to the medic, Silver heart if he recalled correctly. From what he could gather by examining her wounds, Midnight was relieved to find that most of the damage seemed to have been caused by electricity, probably from that strange lightning Blizzard had spotted earlier. Other than that there was hardly anything else wrong. "Looks like you just ate too much electricity. A good rest should be all you need, with no particularly bad burns that I can see." Midnight muttered, as if Silver Heart could actually hear him. Midnight applied a burn poultice, though he didn't have much of it, to the few burns he found, now thankful for those months studying potions and herbal remedies since he had thought they were similar to magic, and decided to stay nearby just in case since Silver seemed to be the most hurt in the group as far as he could tell.

Steel looked around the other ponies seemed to be fine and didn't need his help so he dug threw his bag until he found an old bent dull blade and a flint then he remembered he hadn't collected Any firewood so he walked into the forest and after a few minutes reemerged with a large bundle he built his fire then stuck the old blade in to let it heat up while he waited senate some oats from his bag

'Not exactly what I was aiming for...' He thought. 'This cant be good. I cant leave her out here can I? She hardly looks... formidable.'
 
He relaxed for a moment before pushing her away gently. "What is your name?" He asked, glancing down at the compass by his side with a flash of inspiration. "I can ensure that..."
 
A bolt of blunt force struck Redwave square in the side: he grunted as he flew bodily through the air and landed, rolling along the ground and spitting out leaves as he struggled to his hooves.
 
"Get away from her!" Shouted Orion: furious at having just spared two more of the bandits only to find another harassing his sister. "Nggh..! Now!"

"I'm...  Sorry that you were hurt."  Pavisa brought a hoof up to wipe away the blood that was about to fall into her eye; she had left her helmet next to Silver Heart, and it was starting to drip more freely now.  "I tried to shield the rest of you as best I could, but it wasn't enough."  She was finally starting to calm down from her argument with Chivalry.  A little bit, at least.  She turned to look at Kingfisher again, one of her ears flicking.  "Not everypony is back in camp...  Where is the captain?"  She figured if anypony knew it would be Kingfisher, and Pavisa was worried with that alicorn still out there somewhere.  At least he wasn't involved in that fight, if you can call it a fight.  I just worry too much, that's all.

Crimson smiled and shook his head, "don't worry about it, it wasn't your fault, it was mine. I chose to chase after that alicorn asshole just to try and talk some sense into him, but I should've known better, he is a bit crazy after all. Just be glad I'm fireproof, or I would be a lot more injured than I am now, those damn lightning bolts really pack a punch...anyway, I'm just glad your alright, I don't like to see fiends get hurt, speaking of which, you should go get that head wound checked out before it gets infected" said Crimson with a concerned look.

Looking back to Kingfisher, Pavisa nodded.  She's right.  I'm just paranoid.  "I'm a little banged up, but I'm still standing.  If you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask."
