Clean mlp sites.

First off, I want to say that I searched the forums and I didn't find anything like this. If it does exist elsewhere, I apologise for making a duplicate.

I LOVE this site for being only SFW. I find sites and posts from the 'off-color' side of the fandom rather painful and disturbing. I have trouble finding sites that I can visit without worrying about; if I have to worry about what I'll see, it can be hard to enjoy the fandom and content it produces.

I'd like to build a list of SFW sites, where I and other members of the fandom that are sensitive to said 'off-colored' sites can feel free, secure, and welcome. Since this list is for people who have never heard of these sites before, please include a short description of the site so people can get a feel for it.

If you are considering posting content, or links to said content, and are unsure if it would be well received , please air on the side of caution.

(I do not intend this to be a clop/clopper hating thread. This isn't about negativity, it's about helping each other out.)

Ponychan: This is a site similar in style to 4chan, the exception is that ponychan has rules that keep NSFW content is not allowed. *EDIT: It is similar in another way, in that once the modderators are alseep, people try and break the rules. Any posts that break their rules are quickly removed.*

Bronibooru: This is a site that is similar to Derpibooru, with the exceptions that no NSFW content is allowed.

Derpibooru: Is a website that hosts hundreds of thousands of mlp images, SFW AND NSFW. They have a robust and expansive tagging and filtering system that allows you to hide thing you don't want to see. It comes with 4 tags hidden by default, but I have had to add 234 more tags to get is mostly clean. Even after that people don't always tag things properly.

EDIT:*Derpibooru has changed it's filter policy!(This is, or rather, will be a good thing.)You can now search for Premade Filters. I have taken the liberty of making a filter that is as SFW as it gets. You can search for 'DartTimTime's "Safe for work" Filter '. *

If you have an account made you can go HERE.
If you don't you can go HERE and use the TV-Y filter.
(I don't control this one, and it's less comprehensive than my filter, you /may/ see things you wouldn't like.)

Tumblr:  Tumblr is a mixed bag of EVERY kind of content, MLP or not. The good thing about tumblr is that you can find and look at the content that you like, and nothing else. If you follow blogs that are only SFW you'll only see SFW content. Here are some good SFW blogs to follow: Askflufflepuff , Asksurprise , Anothertwilightsparkle
Derpy-jobs, Ask-twilightsparkle, ask-twi, highschool-cadance.
Feel free to add more sfw tumblrs.

EDIT:* Timblr Savior Plugin app for Chrome, can filter blogs from your search.
Tumblr Savior Plugin for Firefox

Click here to learn how to install it.*

Equestria Daily: EQD is at the heart of the fandom. It popped up early on and remains as one of the most central pony related sites out there. Their rules are set to, once again, keep NSFW content off. *EDIT: These rules have been known to be broken at times*

I wouldn't recomend Deviant Art, their reporting system is slow and flawed. You can and probably will find NSFW content there, and the modderators wont do anything about it, despite the rules designed to keep that content off.

Fimfiction:"does have some NSFW material but it also has a pretty good filtering system which allows you to block out that content if you so choose." -Applejack Rules: user-

Bronyland: Is a site with a bunch of activities for bronies to do and is, from what their rules say, SFW.
"Bronyland is a concatenation of Brony (as in an out-of-target-market-strangely-obsessed fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) and Land, as in a place to be and what a whole bunch of countries used to fight over (and some still do).
Put simply, it’s a place for Bronies."

The MLP Sub-Reddit has rules about keeping content SFW, and the up/down voting system allows SFW posts to float to the top and NSFW posts to sink to the bottom, never to be seen again.

Outbackbronies: If you live in Australia and would love to visit a forum for people that live neer you, where "NSFW/clop/r63/grim dark are all EXPLICITLY FORBIDDEN ", then give this site a try. While this forum is made for Australians, it's welcoming to all people from all places.

Brony Square: Is a combination social networking site/ role-playing site. It tries to emphasizes organic communication and socializing.  The rules include the following. "All of the below are not allowed: . . Anything that is considered obscene and explicit. This is not limited to but includes pornographic material, illegal drugs, rape, adult conversations and so forth."

My little brony Is a clean site for mlp memes. They're pretty funny and there's a lot to see.

Please feel free to add more to the list. We're all friends here. :3 Edited by DartTimeTime

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Anyway, this sounds like an alright idea, for those that don't like to see any NSFW things when on a website.

I personally don't really care about NSFW, but I know there are others who do.

I would warn against doing a general MLP search on Tumblr... I needed to install the Tumblr Savior app on my browser in order to keep NSFW content from appearing in the search. Make sure that tags like porn, boobs, sex, etc are all listed as being blocked, and that if you are a kid, have an adult go through a trial and error of making sure all the appropriate tags are blocked before letting you browse.

As for entirely clean sites out there, I couldn't tell you. But I will say that keeping a list like this is a good idea, after all, not everybody enjoys the darker side of the fandom.

I can't stop laughing, my sides are gone.

EqD does not only often break it's own rules and post NSFW content, but it is hardly one of the best pony sites out there. It is run rather unprofessionally and their writing is plainly extremely biased.

Bronyland is a really good website, it's even the first website I found about MLP.
I am a staff here, and I used to do Trivias, but now, since I have no more free time, some people took my spot. smile.png

If you want to join, it would be great to hav more people! (Trivias on Tuesday, Thursday and sometimes on Sunday)
http://www.bronyland.com/

Also, no NSFW stuff here.

Thanks for your feed back, : 3, but I have it listed already. ; P.   I do encourage you though, if you can think of any others sites, please add them.

Both Bronyland and Derpibooru had been one of the first places where I had found out about FiM. I am also a member Fimfiction.

I do like Derpibooru, but it has a lot of  images that people don't tag correctly, or tag enough. As for Bronyland I'm just getting firmiliar with it myself, so far I like it.

Thanks alot for making this thread. I personally try my best to stay out of places that keep NSFW content because it pops up on you if you're not careful.

Oh, you are absolutely welcome. The amount of NSFW content that exists is very disproportional to the amount of people that enjoy it, so the rest of us have to work together to find ways of avoiding it. : )

I have never actually seen NSFW content on their site. At least not without warning.

I like EqD because the interface is easy to use and it gives merchandise updates. Plus the Nightly Roundups are fun to scroll throigh. They are biased, I do agree (what is up with the Trixie obsession anyways?) but it is their website and people obviously do like it, so I guess they can do whatever the heck they want.

They've actually started cracking down more on that rule, they've even gone back and removed the entries for a couple things that snuck by(like Cupcakes, it's EqD page is now gone.). YES, they bend their own rules, but I haven't seen anything terribly offensive or graphic in quite a while.

People have the sites they like. It's not a big deal,  As far as pictures go on EQD the worst I've seen is comic on DA that were marked 'mature', but was visually clean. I've never seen anything actually explicit, apart from the Top10 video of August 2013 that featured several minutes of Smile HD" (That should never have made it on).

My point is, that EQD is fine for some, and it's ok if you don't like it, but lets try and keep things positive.

I don't really even mind NSFW, not that I'm a fan of it, nor do I enjoy it, it's all art, though it isn't the best thing to be around, especially if you're young, or around parents/adults.
You just need to know your way around places, and you'll be fine, even if a site has it, if you know your way around, you'll be fine, and won't run into anything.

True, very true. This is a thread, on the other hand, where people can find sites where they don't have to worry about that kind of stuff, where we can be free to just enjoy what's there and not think about it.

It's a very useful thread, and I'm grateful you made it. I'm going to check out some of these sites, thank you, and it's going to be a very useful thread as I can see, great job. c:

Like I told Pink Mist "you are absolutely welcome". I know I wanted a thread like this, and I thought others may as well. So why not start one?

I've added a link to the Derpibooru settings page and a list of my tags for the site. A total of 240+ tags that I've gathered to keep the page clean, if you'd like visit Derpibooru, and NSFW content bothers you, feel free to use the lag list I've provided.

I have also only been regularly going on Equestria Daily for a little over a year. I do not have any knowledge of early days of the website.

I don't think I've really read an all-out discussion on, say, clopping on Equestria Daily, whereas here it comes up every so often. Not that discussing clopping is "NSFW" but I wouldn't say that it's appropriate for children either.

I came in to the fandom in November of 2011, so I somewhat know what the earlier days of things were like, and EqD has cleaned up a lot since then.

Well, they have posted some /explicate/ but technically clean things. Comics from DA that have been flagged as 'mature', not becuse of anything that was visible, but because of the what was implied happened off screen. There was also a video of the 2013 "August's top 10 videos of the month" Which featured an extend clip from Smile HD.

Well there are several schools of thought on that, the one I prescribe to is that talking about NSFW is in itself NSFW, but it is a grey area, I'm not saying I'm right, for all I know I might be wrong.

It's MOSTLY, it is clean, but sometimes things fall though the cracks and winde up on the front page.

I'd debate if crude and sexual humor counts for much if it doesn't show anything graphic(and with some of the grimdark things I've seen, I'd debate how graphic you can call Smile HD, as well), since even PG-13 movies can get away with quite a bit of implied adult content.

Basically, anyone to young to hear a PG-13 sex joke shouldn't be online without supervision anyway.

The characters of the show have grown on me, and have become almost like close friends or family members ,and I wouldn't want to see these characters in any situation that I wouldn't want to see friends or family in. Especially sense I'm a sensitive and sympathetic individual.
