......And she's not gonna say who she is. :3

Well, the reason I made this thread is so I could see you what you guys thought of this drawing, and if you could actually tell who it is... I just wanted to make sure it looked like this person, because it's a gift for my mum who's turning 50 in about a week and I wanted to make sure I gave her a great prezzie.

Umm, yeah. It's not finished quite yet, but the face pretty much is, so hopefully, someone will be able to tell. And I realise that most people here are pretty young, (me included) so I guess most of you wouldn't know about her in the first place....

 

Oh gawd, so nervous. Imma just post it now.

Hey don't be nervous, Sweet Dreams. You did a really awesome job on this, and I know your mother is going to love it! I've seen artists who've been drawing for years attempt realistic drawings like that, and they don't look half as good as your drawing. Seriously!

 

And the amazing thing is is you're only 13 and you did that. You're a very gifted artist. Sure, there is some room for improvement here and there, but you have demonstrated a heck of a lot of potential. Keep up the excellent work!

 

I'm no artist, so I hope you weren't expecting much in the way of constructive criticism. ^^

(And I'll be honest I don't actually know who that is. She looks very familiar, but my celebrity knowledge is pretty terrible, so chances are I may not even know her. Heh, how embarrassing).

To be honest, I can't tell who it is ;n; but that's no wonder, I don't give much about most famous people, and I'm bad with names either way.... aaaanyways x3.

 

You did a really great job on the shading, it looks kinda professional, the reflection of the light on her hair, the shadows around her chin, ear and neck, I knew I couldn't do this (I tried, and failed, and tried again, and so on xD). The eyes are wonderfully detailed, the iris and the eyelashes, the whole appearance, pretty much perfect. Same goes for the nose and the mouth, they have the right proportions as well compared to the ears and mouth to make it all seem very harmonic, again, very much detail and good shadowing.

The only thing that could maybe take some work is the shape of the face.

It is just a tiny bit... edgy. The forehead (left side) seems a bit sharp, as well as the chin and the lower cheek cut, but you said you will work on this and I'm sure it'll turn out even better.

 

Btw, that really is a cute idea as a birthday present, I'm sure your mom will love it! Hope you do more drawing of that kind in the future :3.

Even though I've seen you in the forum games for awhile now, I never knew you had some drawing talent too.    As you know, there is room for improvement.  And even though I know a thing or two about drawing myself, I'm not adept at providing tips to others. 

 

But I'm very impressed.  I know your mom will love this and I look forward to more drawings from you in the future.

Thanks. That's fine if you don't know who she is, I totally understand. (It was my first time drawing a person anyway, so I'm sure I'll improve as I try drawing people some more ) And I wasn't expecting too much criticism anyway, so it's all good.

Thanks. And I will fix all the little things once I'm done with the hair and neck so it'll look a little better. Good point with the face shape as well, I'll make sure I work on that. (Btw, sorry I haven't posted your siggy yet. I've been a little busy with this. I'll definitely finish it today )

That's fine. And I'm sure every brony reading this is gasping at your beautiful Fluttershy quote. I'm now on the lookout for situations where I could use that.

Lol, anyway, I'm not sure if I should retry doing this with another picture of her. I could see what the finished product ends up looking like and then decide. Time wouldn't be a problem because I'm stuck on the lounge all day because I can hardly walk on my foot. :/

My mums at work all day, so I guess it would be the best opportunity to do it. Umm, what do you guys think? :3

With my foot, I'm not too sure what happened, actually. It's gradually been getting more painful the last few days, and now I can't walk properly on it. My mum said its probably a muscle issue, and I'm going to the doctors this afternoon.

And, I'm not sure whether I'll redraw her or not. I could do the same picture again, but if I did another picture it might portray her style better, so it would be a lot easier to tell who she is. Also, I'm kinda sick of drawing that picture.
