Would you like to see the Alicorn Amulet return in S4?

Right now I'm watching the S3 episode "Magic Duel" and a thought came to me: If Trixie can come across the amulet not by accident, then who else could? This question I will put to you, fellow bronies. Also, if you do want it to return, who do you want to see wearing it next?

 

Personally, I can't say. To me, either a villain or hero can decide to utilize the amulet for their own purposes. But the one thing they won't have a grip on is the amulet's ability to corrupt. We all saw it with Trixie; slowly but surely she became increasingly narcissistic, and later on when she was freed, she admitted that she lost control. Knowing this, there could be anypony who would use it next (a villain would obviously steal from Zecora, but a hero/good guy? Maybe he/she finds the amulet tucked away in that box, and decides to try it on out of curiosity, with no idea of the consequences) and subsequently fall victim to the amulet's influence.

 

So anyway, who do you want to see wearing the amulet next (or do you want to see the amulet at all next season?)

Yeah, I want the amulet to return so I can see the origins of it's existence. I also want to know how long it's been in Equestria, it's original owner, and the reason for it's existence.

Blueblood because he comes off as an arrogant jerk in most fan works, so I think that it would be easier for the Amulet to corrupt someone as self-centered as he appeared to be in 'The Best Night Ever.'

 

Sort of like how it caused Trixie to fall victim to her own hubris and desire for revenge in its own debut episode.

That's actually a good point. What if the amulet has the capability to corrupt all species of pony? Earth ponies are iffy, but if I were to guess, the amulet would drive them to do evil things within their own abilities. Hell if I can put it right, but that's my two bits, that the amulet can affect everypony, no matter their type.

I think itd be super interesting to have the amulet fall into the hands- er, hooves of 'Princess' Twilight and have her hear some old legend that the amulet provides awesome power, but corrupts weaker ponies. That is, if a pony is strong enough to resist its corruptive power, they can wield massive power. Since Twiliy is so sure of her abilities she would try it on and of course get corrupted and have to learn a lesson about overestimating yourself.

That is, if a pony is strong enough to resist its corruptive power, they can wield massive power. Since Twiliy is so sure of her abilities she would try it on and of course get corrupted and have to learn a lesson about overestimating yourself.

*sniffles* That was beautiful. JK, I'm not really crying tears of joy, but that was exactly what I was thinking. What would happen if Twilight got her hooves on the amulet? Just think of the enormous raw power the amulet would have at its disposal......it would take Celestia to stop Twily from going on a rampage, unless she hadn't already. Srsly though, what would happen indeed?

From its name its clear what it was supposed to do. Just makes me think its some thing starswirl might have cooked up once he realised his spell would never work, Or it was made by someone else using his books.

Implying that Star Swirl knew that the amulet would corrupt the user. If he failed at the alacorn spell, then maybe he would go for the next best thing: replicating the powers of an Alacorn. Or maybe the Alacorn amulet is Star Swirl's power. Twilight did say that the spells Trixie cast were those practiced by the highest level unicorns after all.

 

As to who would wear it, how about the CMC? They're so desperate to get their cutie marks, that maybe they discover the amulet at Zecora's cabin and begin to fight over who will wield it's power. Mayor Mare would be an intriguing choice. An authoritarian character with no real authority. With the amulet, she'll finally be taken seriously. You could have nightmare Moon return as a separate entity, defeating all, accept Princess Luna, who uses the Alacorn amulet to match her strength, but in the process becomes twisted in her own right, leading to what amounts to a battle where neither side is truly right.

 

Maybe another villain could wear it. Discord could take it as leverage against the elements and truly become a warped being of chaos, or even better, become a creature solely focused on strict, unyielding, stagnant order, making sure nothing changes and everything is in it's perfect unmoving place. Chrysalis could wear it as a means of revenge against Equestria, but in the process become cruel to her own subjects, and after being defeated, she realizes the horrors she's caused and starts the process of redemption. Perhaps the Amulet was part of king Sombra, being the real reason he was trapped in corporeal form. After reuniting with it, the regains full strength, or perhaps, his humanity as well. Maybe Sombra is Star Swirl? He allegedly was the most powerful unicorn, why not make him the king of the unicorns and have the amulet be what made him lose it.

I'm actually making a fanfic involving the Alicorn Amulet, and what you said is similar to a headcannon I have regarding it. I think the AA possesses a consciousness, that gets into your head and memories, and starts the slow path of redemption by bringing forth your most powerful negative memory to the forefront of your mind, slowly talking you into doing things you wouldn't by arousing those emotions inside you.

 

The one I chose to find the amulet was Sunset Shimmer. She came back to Ponyville for a second chance, but she stumbles upon the AA, and it brings forth her deepest thoughts, of how Celestia was a tyrant who clings to her power and doesn't want anyone stronger than her, and that's why she banished her sister and wouldn't let SS become an alicorn. And how Twilight is just a puppet of the princess, never thinking for herself, enraging her until her resistance and reluctance to be evil breaks.

 

In the struggle against Twilight, Spike is seemingly killed pushing her out of the way of an attack, pushing Twilight over the edge. Eventually she uses her magic to control Sunset's hoof, making her remove the amulet because of that loophole of the rules. Twilight puts on the amulet herself, determined to destroy Sunset now, but her friends all stop her from doing so, and remind her of what Spike meant to her and how they don't want her to stoop down to that level. And through her friends assistance she resists the influence of the amulet, getting back control of herself before she does the unthinkable.

And that, in my case, can present a serious threat to everypony no matter what the type. If the amulet is able to act on Trixie's darkest thoughts like showing Twilight the pain and humiliation she felt after she was shown off as a fraud last time before turning them into her greatest sins committed: exiling Twilight from Ponyville and torturing her friends to no end and thus, leaving her with an insane amount of guilt for her to deal with after it was removed, then who knows what it'll do to the next pony that comes across it, either by accident or by coincidence?

 

This is what I'm hoping for in season 4 or in any of the other seasons in the near future, we find out about the truth behind the Alicorn Amulet or we discover from the Princesses themselves how the amulet came to be. When the amulet is found by another pony, the Princesses were suddeny alerted to it's re-appearance ever since the first amulet incident in Ponyville and are questioned by Twilight about it's return.

You know, that's hard to say. The pony/ponies who come across the amulet by accident, sheer curiosity or coincidence can be anypony: Rainbow Dash, Shining Armor, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, or maybe even the god of chaos, Discord, who knows? The amulet, if found, can influence the wearer's darkest intentions/wishes, even though it was by accident or curiosity.

 

Pretty much, anypony who comes across or either a certain purpose or no reason at all and just stumble upon it.

I'd like to see it return, but not on Trixie. Trixie's ego is too big for Equestria. 

 

It'd be fun seeing Diamond Tiara get it, just to see what would happen if an evil Earth Pony grabbed it. 

 

Seeing a good guy wear it as a sort of desperation move would be nice as well, preferrably Rainbow Dash or Twilight, since they seem the type who would do that in panic. . 

 

If I had to pick one, seeing Sweetie Belle use it would be fun

That amulet has to show up again at some point, yes. I'm hoping it lands on Opal's neck and she makes cat-based mischief all throughout Ponyville, though I don't know if it'll happen in S4.

 

However, I'm almost 100& certain we'll see Trixie in S4 because of the fan-focused tidbits we've seen so far this season. I'm pretty sure the writers are well-aware of her fanbase.
