And I don't remember the last one.

 

My family is mostly proud of being Chez and Italian. I know more about my family history than most others my age.

I actually have a lot of celebrities tied in with my family. I'm related to Loretta Lynn, and my grandpa knew and played softball with Conway Twitty growing up in Kentucky. He also met and talked with Morgan Freeman for quite some time while the film "The Shawshank Redemption" was being filmed.

No way, I hate being a minority. I'd rather be part of the majority instead of the most hated group of people in the history of Earth.

 

I personally consider it kinda cool. Somebody described Jews as the most unsuccessfully persecuted group of all time due to never actually dying out despite so, so many attempts. You've got resilience in your family history.

Resilience only because genocide is a game of numbers. Just like cockroaches, you can't kill us all. My paternal grandmother's side was all but completely wiped out, and only two or three of my paternal grandfather's line survived. The only reason my maternal side didn't suffer losses was because they were already in America. Still, it doesn't change the fact that if given a vote, I think the majority of the world would wish Jews gone.

Y'know, that guy is right--Jews haven't been persecuted for centuries for no reason.  But every single reason someone can think of to openly hate everyone of one ethnicity or another is unfair, completely illogical, and just plain wrong.  I can understand stereotypes, as they are always at least somewhat based on truth.  But openly hating everyone of some denomination due to something that is out of their control, because of something that their ancestors did, because of one's xenophobia, is one of mankind's' greatest failings.  I know plenty of Jews who are good, upstanding, moral individuals, and they are better than many people of other denominations and ethnicities that I see.  If there are some people who hate all of the Jews who ever existed or who ever will exist because a couple hundred Jews, who lived several thousand years ago, I might add, went with the crowd and with their beliefs when crucifying Jesus, then those people are hypocrites and have no business doing such a thing.

In short, hatred is hardly ever justified, and I believe that it is never justified against an entire people, whatever their ancestors did or their descendants may do.  And I know one thing for sure: if there ever is a war on the Jews, I will stand on their side of the battlefield, because I feel very strongly that such a blanket hatred required to even think about wiping out a people is just plain wrong.

So, yes, there are multiple reasons why people have hated the Jews for centuries, but none of them are good enough reasons to hate all the Jews.  Yes, Christians and Muslims alike will often gladly take a swing at a Jew, but their reasons are prejudiced, poorly thought out, and contrary to their beliefs.  And yes, hatred does unify people, but only until the object of their hatred is finally snuffed out for good.  Once their objective is lying bloodied and bruised on the ground, they'll just look around for another scapegoat to hate, and eventually, will end up destroying each other entirely.  Nothing good can ever come from hatred, and hatred itself is a animalistic and stupid emotion, and does nothing but bring humans down to below the levels of the most savage of animals.  It destroys both reason and love, and blinds the heart to the feelings that make us truly human.  It does nothing but destroys and tears and eats away at both the hated and hating.

 

Alright, I think I'm done.  Dang, that was some 1900 characters...well, I feel very strongly about this topic, and I don't want anyone living in denial or fear because some poor, overprejudiced individual thinks it's their job to hate their guts.  To be very blunt and short about it, it's their problem, not yours.  You should never change or hide because someone doesn't like who you are; you should only change after much thought, meditation, and prayer (if you are so inclined), and always the drive to change must come from within yourself.

It's hard to be specific. But I can take an educated guess. I'm Puerto Rican, and the vast majority of us are a mix of Spanish/European, African and native Taíno. Going by appearance alone, my family leans more toward Spanish, with some Taíno thrown in there.

Thanks, girl!  I figure that if all these ponies are taking their time to respond to my thread (in the which I ask them a rather personal question for little reason but to satiate my curiosity and the desire to get to know them better), I at least owe them an interest in their response. To be a little less long-winded, I just like people, and so I like to communicate with them, especially so here because the ponies in the fandom are just awesome! <3

And, about languages...yeah, it's not easy, but I'm a sucker for foreign languages, so I'm trying to learn all that I can! (I've learned English, of course, I know Spanish to a theoretically conversational fluency, and I'm teaching myself Italian at the moment.)  I love languages!

 

 

Honestly I don't really know much, all I know is that I'm Finnish, my family is Finnish too. But I have some relatives in the UK atleast.

Indigenous people from the Caribbean. They have pretty much all died out by now (a process that started after making contact with Spanish colonizers, you can imagine how that went), but because of intermarriage, their blood lives on.

No, my mom doesn't even speak Czech. If it was a forgein language class at my school, I'd take it, but all my school has is Spanish and Italian.
