Hub says: Background character gets his/her own episode?

Well, if this isn't the coolest thing yet, I don't know what will be.

 

There is no information as far as I know that leads to us to believe who it will be or when. If you do have info, put it in spoiler tags!

 

Who do you think it will be? And just as EQD said, there is a fear that lingers that they wont use their fandom name. How would you react if you favorite background pony had a new name?

 

 

 

I'm hoping for a Vinyl/Tavi episode, though the possibilities are endless.

 

A fan favorite would automatically assume the following:

 

Derpy(Very likely not possible)

Lyra (Who we finally heard at the end of season 3)

Bon Bon (Who's had many voices already)

Vinyl Scratch (Who has been nodded toward the fandom twice now, at the Royal Wedding with a glimpse of her eyes and at the end of season 3[who was distinctly out of place])

Octavia Melody (We've seen her and what others say is her cousin Fiddlesticks)

Snowflake(Who's already gotten a fair amount of screen time)

Dr Whooves(Number one choice for getting a 'real' name)

Not expecting Vinyl and Octavia being a couple. They really have no reason to be one except their music music motif.

They should probably avoid giving them an episode because bronies are gonna send mail bombs once they realize their fanfic is ruined. Gnashing of teeth, thousand years of darkness, etc. The show does nothing to hook them up and when they aren't a couple in a feature episode.. HOW DARE THEY!?

I personally think it is going to be Vinyl Scratch/DJ-PON3, as there has been some news about Season 4 stating that characters such as Princess Luna and DJ-PON3 will get their own song in Season 4.

Anyway, whether that news is the truth or not; it's the only thing I can think of that would hint who the character would be.

 

If it does happen to be Vinyl Scratch; I don't think they would give her a new name. She has already been referred to as "DJ-PON3" in commercials for the show, so I don't know why they would change it. I guess I wouldn't really care if they changed her name, but I wouldn't really understand why the change was made.

I've heard a rumor that the official name could be that of Snowflake, and that it would be "Bulk Biceps" (I doubt it, though the name was on the FiM wiki).

 

I'm with those who think it'll be Vinyl Scratch. I mean, as far as I know, Hasbro has acknowledged her stage-name DJ-PON3, but they have yet to make her actual name canon. Plus, with the comic-con figures and all the talk about her character, it seems very likely that she'll be the one to ascend from background-pony status.

 

I'm a bit unsure about this. Not because of how I think the writers will perceive the character; i'm more worried about the fandom's reaction to her canon personality differing from her "fanon" personality (this can apply to any of the bg ponies). Also, since so many are used to Nowacking's take on her character, it may be a bit jarring if, say, her voice is significantly different.

here's another question for you all. I am seeing a lot of you say Vinyl. 

 

Now, in a LOT of good fanimations, they have used one voice actor that goes by the online name of Nowacking.

Would anyone be less than amused if they've used someone that has a different voice, or more on the extreme side, not Nowacking herself, as Vinyl's voice?

I personally think it would be amazing if they finally decided to do an episode for Derpy. However it seems that it is more likely that Vinyl and Octavia will get their own episode.

 

Oh well. I'm fine with that. Especially since Vinyl might actually get her own song from what I've heard. I would definitely look forward to seeing that.

For me it depends. If she still has that sorta "party hard" kinda voice, then I'm fine with it. But I'm use to hearing Nowacking's voice as Vinyl Scratch. But I don't think Hasbro's gonna get Nowacking to do Vinyl Scratch's voice.

Since his debut in Hurricane Fluttershy, Snowflake has grown a pretty big brony following because of his silliness, "YEAH!", and kindheartedness. You tend to hear his "YEAH!" a lot in brony conventions, and some of it can get really boisterous. Yet, since his debut over twenty months ago, he still doesn't have an official name. Derpy (whose name is trademarked), Octavia, Vinyl, Colgate, Flitter, Cloudchaser, Lyra, Bon Bon, Berry Punch, Carrot Top, Rose, and Whooves all have canon names, some of them dating back to eighteen to twenty-four months ago. Snowflake is the most popular fanon name for the muscular, white pegasus behind Roid Rage (and a personal favorite of mine, Horse Power), but it's all fanon currently.

Wait this could either be absolutely amazing or incredibly horrid.  It all depends on how they portray her.  I hope, if they do do this, they make her out to be like she is on Epic Wub Time!!!  Also, she better have a decent voice.  Hopefully they don't genericize her like they did to derpy.

   At this point it could be any pony, however what is known is that Trixie is returning, and Doctor Whooves was actually acknowledged on the BBC during the fiftieth anniversary, I saw it during a live stream, how cool is that? With so many fan favourites the big reveal will be epic I promise you, and with that I will say as long as the background character is a mystery, we will be elated when the time comes.
