Looks like I was right in considering Group D the group of Death. Not sure if Scoots and Celestia are much more popular than anyone realized or that Pinkie Pie is not as dominant as March Madness made her seem.

 

In any case, I'm going for the mare I can shamelessly self-promote with.

I'm probably going to be at odds with her often in this tournament due to my choice of favorite ponies, but that day is not today. Pinkie Pie really is a well-layered character and I don't give her credit for that nearly as much as I should.

I voted Octavia; had she been up against Tank I'd have actually thought about it.  Angel, though?  Insta-vote for pony cellist.  And my three remaining votes went to Dashie's besties:
