Looks a good time for my daily dosage of honoring the competitor...

 

I truly am a Vinyl fan, I even voted for her over the Mane 6 character in her group. However, if you know me, you know I LOVE Rarity and there's only one  pony I'll vote for over her.

 

I like Vinyl and I don't care if most of her personality is Fannon and not Cannon. In fact, characters like her are one of my favourite things about this fandom... Hasbro has a lot of awesome characters that they aren't really doing anything with, and I love that we have given them the love they deserve.

And oh yeah, can can you not love the BASS CANNON!

I'm a fan of Vinyl/DJ Pon-3, but it's always hard to vote against the Mane 6, so I went with Rarity for my vote.

And while I don't think Spike will get past Discord, it would be interesting to see Rarity vs. Spike in the quarter-finals.

Tonight features the Winner of Group F

TWILIGHT SPARKLE!!!

Twilight teleported her way past the others in her group, taking all 9 points and 86.3% of Voter Preference, and a +302 Differential!

 

She'll be up against the Runner-up from Group E

DERPY HOOVES!!!

Derpy was able to give Rarity a really strong run for the money in the group stage. She'll look to use her adorable quirks to hold off the Mane character! Voter Differential of +85 and Preference of 60.1% for Derpy!

 

(I made this post now since I'll be away from my computer for the next couple hours!)

Well, this game will wrap up soon, and with little surprise, Rarity grooms her way past Vinyl Scratch with a convincing score of 112-40. Many fans will feel duped that all their favourite characters are making way for the Mane 6, but at the same time, you have to give the background characters credit for making it all the way to the Round of 16. They went further than Princess Cadance and Queen Chrysalis did when they both experienced tough upset losses to Spike and Zecora respectively. So give a round of applause to Vinyl Scratch for standing her ground well against a very popular Mane 6 character. 

 

Ladies and gentlemen, we shall now welcome you back to another Round of 16 encounter, this time between the recently promoted alicorn in Twilight Sparkle and the best strongest background pony in Derpy Hooves! Both characters will surely fight hard for their place in the Quarterfinals as we've seen over the course of the Group Stages. Twilight Sparkle took a convincing first place in Group F, while Derpy Hooves gave a valiant fight in her loss to Rarity! Will we finally see a Mane 6 character eliminated today, or will we get to see what will potentially be a Mane 6 quarterfinal encounter?

 

Well, here we go! The flags are now being carried out for this ever interesting encounter! Time to hand it over to the pitch where the character anthems will be sung!
