Hehe, thanks!  I've been trying to come up with a number of different ways Darius could influence his moves - I figure that as an older instructor and as a professor who's supposedly been studying moves, he should have quite a few tricks up his sleeve like that in order to give him an edge (Delphox up-his-sleeve pun completely intended).

I just realized that Dustin literally can't fight Dusk. All of his moves are normal or ground...

The same thing goes how Dusk can't fight Nik.

Nik is a Normal type and isn't affected by Ghost-Type moves

Synthia can't fight Dusk until she evolves: she knows only normal moves.

Actually...now that I've looked it up, Hypnosis and Will-o-Wisp technically count as Psychic and Fire type moves...there may be hope for Dusk yet.

I honestly don't fully remember Dustin's move set, but I believe it was something like scratch or slash, dig, magnitude, and fury swipes I think.

Wow, Dusk is going to need a team-mate with that move-set, it's heinous for single battles. Shadow Sneak and Nightshade are both weak and Will-O-Wisp and Hypnosis don't matter much when you have no damaging moves.

I think it's going to be fun for Zoey to get into her first challenge XD  She's really not much of a fighter either, her move set is more of an annoyance / prank based one...  Her only damaging move is Dark Pulse.  Other than that she gets to play with Attract, Double Team, and Nasty Plot hahaha

The thing is, since Nik is a Smeargle, and Smeargle are normal type, the only way Dusk would be able to damage him is if he learned a dark type move, because ghost type moves don't affect normal types (or fighting types for that matter, so Rune's immune to ghost type moves, and gets a power up when hit with Dark-type moves, sweet), and vice versa.

Actually ghost is immune to fighting, and ghost can still hit fighting. Unless that was something changed in Gen 6, but I don't think it is.

Nope, fighting types are affected by ghost moves.

 

Ghosts are immune to normal and fighting type moves, but only normal types are immune to ghost moves. So your plan won't work well.
