Well, how about we say that both Rune and Nik weren't in danger of being seriously wounded, and Darius was intrigued by both of their power levels (the first person to make an over 9000 joke gets a boot up their ass), so he wanted to see how far they could go without them mortally wounding each other.

Yes, the DVDs do, but not the actual stuff they showed on TV. And bear in mind, I never really watched dragonball all that much anyways. Like I said, I was a Naruto guy. Then later I got in to a bit heavier stuff like Elfen Lied, but still.
