Whiskey's Journal - Looking for Voice Actors

I skulked around the internets trying to look for Voice Actors.

 

I searched high and low at voice Acting forums, Youtube and other places where voice actors hang out. So far, I have found none that can accommodate the characters I needed

 

My original intention was not to ask here but circumstances leave me no other choice.

 

So.. I'm working on an Audio drama. It's about a Travelling Earth pony who sells liquor. My motivation on why I made a story about this kind of pony is because I've been seeing alot of OC ponies having badass traits. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do a very ordinary pony but with a story interesting enough to get notice.

 

I have only completed episode one but there are more to come. My approximation would be that the series would have a length up to 5-6 episodes with 2 endings [The endings have been decided and are only awaiting to be expanded].

 

I need Voice Actors for:

- Whiskey Barleycorn

- Lyra Hearstrings

- Bonbon

- Pinkie Pie <-- Will only appear in episode 1

- Berry Punch

- Aquilinus

 

So I come to you, inhabitants of mlpforums, to help me achieve this little humble project of mine. I cannot assure the success of my Audio Drama since there are alot of high quality production already out there. I also cannot assure you a place in popularity.

 

The only thing I seek is determination and a decent mic that can rival mine. Here's a sample of the quality of my mic. It's not the best, cheap, covered in yellow duct tape, but does the job really well.

He's like.. your.. everyday person you see everyday. the guy you pass by when you go to the store. Those kinds of stuff. He's ordinary. A little bit introverted. Optimistic and very approachable like most ponies in Ponyville. Never likes getting attention though. Basically, he's your everyday man.

 

Below is his first line in the AD. WARNING! WALL OF TEXT.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whiskey: I can still remember with complete clarity what my family and I had undergone when I was a little foal. Mom and Dad were busy people. They didnt have time for rest or fun. They wanted to find fortune. Unfortunately however, they never did get to find it. My Parents own a brewery in Manehattan and a Bar at Whitetail woods. Everything was going well despite the fact that alcohol wasnt really in with Equestria's Market. But things turned out for the worse.

 

We lived with the lowest of the low. Having to fight for scraps of food in the slums of Manehattan. But my parents were determined to bring us back up on track. both of them worked day in and day out. My Dad worked at the coal mines at the morning and at the streets of Manehattan during the evening. My mom worked at the Tailoring factory all day. I had to work also. I sold newspapers and shined pony's shoes just so I could help my parents.

 

One day, my Mom got sick because she wasnt used to such kind of work. She's very fragile. My mom couldnt take it anymore so I guess she decided to sleep forever. Before she left, she gave me this compass. She told me to use it when the time came. I was not sure what she meant by that but I kept it for her nonetheless. My Dad worked harder because of this. I did the same.

 

After a few years, we finally got up on our hooves. but my dad never did stop working. I guess he was still hurt that Mom had to go first. Dad grew old and had to go also. Before he left, he gave me this old notebook. He told me to write down everything that I would experience until I could find that fortune that they were so busy on finding. He told me to use all of the money that they had been saving to travel the world. To experience the things I was not able to experience when I was a little foal. His last words to me was: "All you need is practicality and common sense to survive in this word, 'Mboy. You don't need no fancy mathematics or over-the-top logical watcchamacallsit. Learn the thing that you want to learn and use them. Then you'll be on your way to finding your fortune!"

 

So I guess the time that my mom had said to me came. And I have to write all of my experiences on Dad's journal.

 

The name's Whiskey Barleycorn. And.. uhh.. heh.. yeah.. welcome to my life?

I don't seek perfection. I seek determination. Giving a shot means that you are willing to give some of your time for this project. That alone makes me truly grateful.

You almost nailed Whiskey there. But I Imagine him having a much higher tone and less western twang. But the thing the bothers me is the quality. I couldn't remove the noise at the background, its lo fidelity, and the volume is kind of off. So I'm kind of lost there.

 

I really cant put in that kind of mic where the sounds that I will be using (and I assume the voice files too) would be within medium or high quality.

 

I also find it lulzworthy that you did the female characters. XD

 

But all in all, I think you need to have a decent mic and a little bit of work out on acting.

Is whisky the only Male character? If so thats to bad seeing as there are many other good voice actors. My voice is a little too deep and cant do girl parts. If you have other roles please let me know! I would be happy to take up any, so long as they are male. Im known at my as an actor and have gotten the nickname "man-of-many-voices" for my ability to basically be many different kinds of characters and personalities.
