Pokémon Gijinka Academy

In the middle of an deserted valley lies a school. Not just any ordinary school, but something for creatures not like humans. This school is called...the Pokémon Gijinka Academy, and you can only get in if you're half human, half Pokémon. This school teaches young teenage Pokémon hybrids to learn how to embrace their true powers and potential.

Now that you're old enough, your parents are sending you to this academy. Get ready for your own adventure to unfold...

((Large entry post, go!))

A fresh start...

Sora had been pondering exactly this meant the entire car trip over. Mom said that she had finally found a place for him, where he could meet others just like him and reach his full potential. Potential was quite important to her, being a scientist and all. Honestly, he prided himself on his scientific ability. Hopefully, he would still be able to practice it here. He hasn't heard much about the school, but it was supposed to focus more on the Pokemon side of him. He didn't care, but he wanted it to have a decent science equipment. Probably, considering that most gijinka were still being researched, but, hey, as long as any procedures weren't painful, embarrassing, or with enough frequency to be annoying or disturb his work, he was fine with it.

Maybe I can master this energy output... it would be cool to not have it fly out of control all the time.

He cleared his heads of such thoughts as the mountains passed to reveal the academy. It was a large place, and he could see several clear buildings. There was a large central building, which he supposed most of the classes would be, as well as several side buildings and what appeared to be a large battle arena. But would they be using Pokemon... or themselves...?

As they pulled up to the main building, he got out of his car and looked around the place, dusting his hands off on his scientist's coat as a force of habit. He sighed before looking around.

"Are you alright, Sora?" asked his mom as she stepped out of the car.

"What...? Oh, yeah... yeah, I'm okay."

"Alright. Here, why don't you take your things up to the dormitory while I clear a few things up with the headmistress?"

"Yes, ma'am."

And with that, Sora got his armful of supplies as well as his trunk, and started to move towards the facilities...

((Aaand... go! Questions can be asked in the OoC!))

Dustin had decided to walk to the school. His village happened to have been fairly close to this school his parents wanted him to attend, and he was bringing many things, so he decided to just walk. The heat of the desert was killing him, but he pressed on until he found the school, which didn't take long luckily. He adjusted the straps of his bag of things and walked into the school. He already saw someone there, and immediately became nervous. I didn't want to meet people this fast... But he decided not to confront the boy, and instead just started looking around the place.

Nik' let his ethereal wings fade away as the school came into sight. It had taken a good bit of flying to get there, but now he could prove himself. So far, all he had done was steal moves from others(the ethereal wings were one of his moves, stolen from a Staraptor)and it would be interesting to see how he could learn to master himself. Truth be told, the only reason he had come was because it was said there would be strong gjinkas there, perhaps they'd to challenge him. There was nothing that brought more pleasure to Nik' than beating an opponent who actually gave him a work-out. Granted, toying was fun, but it wasn't quite the same thing.

"Well, time to enter" Nik's said to no one in particular, having left his parents a while ago when they found his computer hacking to be horrific(It was not his fault that it had nearly caused a car crash!) and having lived in the desert wastes on his own. The hybrid slunk his tail into his pants, hiding the muscular appendage, before rehoisting his back-pack and walking towards the main building.

Tempest walked through the academy, and simply smiled. "I wonder what Aurora is doing today." He thought. The Yveltal gjinka then noticed several other gjinka enter. "At least there will be some new faces around here."

Aurora sighed calmly as she meditated in her dorm. "I need to focus on controlling this." She thought. The Lucario gjinka then stopped meditating, stood up, and walked out her dorm. She figured that she needed the exercise.

Lhee

The cab ride to the school itself was quiet...  Something Lhee was thankful for, at least.  It was a fairly big cab for just one boy and a single duffel bag, and the driver had barely paid him a second glance other than to make sure he was in the vehicle.  I can probably thank the old man for that...  He probably had to pay extra to get me a ride by myself like this.

As the cab stopped in front of the Academy, Lhee nods his thanks towards the driver.  Thankfully the ride had already been paid for, because there was no way that Lhee could have afforded the cost of the trip.  "Uh...  Thanks."  Stepping out of the vehicle the Marowak gijinka throws his bag over his shoulder, holding the strap with one hand while twirling his bone club nervously with the other.

With a loud sigh Lhee kicks the door of the cab shut, and the vehicle is soon well on its way back to civilization.  I guess that's that...  No way to go back now.  Not unless I'm going to dig all the way back...  He sighs again as he turns towards the main entrance, noticing a few other gijinkas making their way to the door.

"Be confident, Bonehead...  You might actually fit in here.  Don't ruin things on your first day."  Deciding that the best way to 'not ruin things' would most likely be to 'not speak or get noticed', the Marowak gijinka sighs again before starting a slow walk towards the doors.  Just...  Don't make eye contact...  If someone wants to talk, let them make the first move.  Don't want to send anyone running and screaming like at the last school...

Nik' looked at the pokemon hybrid with curiosity. Now this was one he hadn't seen before, due to never venturing through Kanto. it would be a nice experiment to test how he reacted to social contact, as most gjinkas reflected their pokemon half personality wise(This was not a rule, however, Nik' testified to that)

"Hello, what is your name?" Nik' questioned, his voice refined and elegant. He touched the the shoulder of the gjinka with his tail and it came off slightly sandy. Yep, he was part brutish ground type. "I am Nik', a bastardization of the word "Bejovnik", which means fighter" Nik' said, giving a melodramatic bow and tucking his tail away

Lhee

@,

Lhee stops himself from recoiling at the other boy's touch, though his hand does tighten around his bone club slightly.  He wasn't used to people touching him.  He stands there quietly as the other boy introduces himself as Nik, then nods his head slightly in greeting.  "...Lhee."

Thinking he should say something else other than just his name after Nik's introduction, Lhee gives a small shrug.  "I don't know what it means..."  He tilts his head a little, as though that were all there was to the topic.  Should I say something else?  Pretty sure this is the longest conversation I've had in a month...  Not counting talking to myself...

Lhee finally noticed Nik's somewhat curious looks, then he shrugs again as he turns to start walking further into the Academy.  "...Marowak, if you're wondering."  He was a little curious himself what Nik was - it seemed vaguely familiar to him, but nothing was jumping to his mind.  Probably something from Johto...  I feel like I know it, so that's most likely...  Not from Kanto, that's for sure.

@,

"Ah, a Marowak. Ground type, I assume?" Nik' said, attempting to sound confident in his assessment. He was almost never wrong but it didn't hurt to be careful. "I suppose I can give the same courtesy, Smeargle, a Normal type" Nik's said, smirking a bit. A normal type he may be, but that didn't mean he was restricted to mere normal type moves. "So, are you that hideous that you wear a skull?" Nik' questioned, attempting to sound like he was joking. Time to see Lhee's mettle. How he reacted to the back-handed joke was important in determining how best to interact with him

(Razor Grass is in my signature o: On the right! For people like me who think its much easier to like read stuffs when they have a picture to help. But I really had that before cause I like it xD okay now to get on with things )

Razor Grass had come a long way from Sinnoh, where she had lived for awhile. She had asked the taxi driver to drop her off at a place pretty far from the academy. Razor loved walking in the sun, and this was a great day for it. Plus with her going to a possibly busy new school, she couldn't be sure she'd even have time for walking in the sunshine.

The leafeon adjusted her green bookbag and walked around the corner of the school to its front. She had to stop for a second to take in just how great the size of the building was. Seeing other people like her outside conversing was really strange to Razor so she walked past so she so she wouldn't be seen.

Before walking through the doors of the building with her bag and big rolling suitcase, she looked out at the sun and sky behind her. Her old life was back there and here she is at a brand new school with new people, unlike the ones she's used to.

As Rune Blade approached the valley, he smirked. 'The last year. Hopefully I can get through it without much trouble.' He thought. The sun beat down on him, his pack filled with supplies for the journey, in addition to his normal luggage. It's been a long summer, he missed his friend Sir Ӕgir, who was not only his friend but his fencing coach. The old Gijinka would be glad to see him, he thought at least. It was always a bit difficult to tell his disposition through that armor of his he always insisted on wearing, even if he was in a position where armor would not be the best stuff to wear. He popped open his pokeblock case and pulled out a yellow block and sucked on it. The sour tasted oddly refreshing, even if the block was dry as a bone.

He descended the staircase that lead in to the valley, admiring the sights. Ever since his second year, he tried to spot evolutionary stones hidden in the rock on his way down. After he had learned first year that certain students will go out looking for the stones to evolve. He had earned his own dawn stone in a fencing tournament back home in Fallarbor Town in Hoenn, and it now hangs around his neck on an amulet he crafted himself. He trained with his best friend at home, a Pawniard Gijinka named Zatoichi in Meteor Falls. They would spar for hours, eventually they would tire and head back home. Zatoichi had evolved in to a Bisharp shortly before Rune had left for the first year, and then by the time he had returned, he had left for Sinnoh. He never saw Zatoichi again, but he still hopes to meet him again.

As he entered the Academy, he started towards Dorm 15, with a Mewtwo named Sora and an Eevee named Synthia. He entered and found the room empty. After he fully unpacked, he decided to claim his bed, and rest.

((@, Ouch, man. That hurts, and I'm not even the target.))

As Sora continued on past the school, he found himself walking next to what appeared to be a Leafeon gijinka. He decided taht, for now, he would shut up and let her start a conversation if she wanted to.

As they passed the berry gardens. he turned his head and pictured the savory berries in many different dishes. He shook his head and sighed, turning his head back towards the ground.

Lhee

@,

Lhee gives a small nod, still walking towards the doors.  Smeargle, that's right...  I thought it was somewhat familiar...  He was content to let the conversation go at that, though he froze in his tracks as Nik made the crack about his skull.

He glances at the Smeargle gijinka out of the corner of his eye, his hand clenching tightly around his bone club.  Cool it, Bonehead...  The old man pulled a lot of strings to send you here.  You're not going to get kicked out for fighting on your first day...

"Funny," the Marowak gijinka replied with a tone that suggested he saw no humor in the joke.  "It's part of my head by this point, actually.  I lost the ability to take it off once I evolved..."  Lhee pushes his way through the doors, a cold gaze in his eyes.  He was pissed off by the comment, and trying really hard not to lash out about it.

He does turn to lock eyes with Nik as he attempts to shut the door in the Smeargle gijinka's face, muttering under his breath "You should watch what you say to strangers, though.  I'd hate for you to catch a Bonemerang with your face."  With nothing more to say he turns around, wanting to get a feel of the layout for the school and to leave Nik behind him.

The Smeargle gjinka grinned, knowing this'd be fun. A rager was always fun to deal with. He had to throw one last jibe though, he couldn't resist. "Wait, I remember reading about Cubones and Marowaks somewhere" the Smeargle gjinka said, his photographic memory finally kicking in. "Does that mean you're wearing your mom's skull?" Nik' asked, quickly sprouting the ethereal wings that allowed him to fly and jumping away, out of range. Or so he thought

(OOC: Please hit Nik', it will knock him down a few pegs)

Synthia had hoped she'd been placed in a room with other girls. That she'd been placed with boys made her want to squeak and hide. But she knew how that would fly; teasing, and more heartache. Shakily, from her perch on the bed farthest, she let out a breath a drew her bow. She began distracting her natural instincts by slowly oiling it, trying to forget what society had done to her in the past.

Delphina placed the last book on her shelf, proud of her work. She had manage to systematically re-organize the library before the beginning of the year so that it actually made sense. She put a footnote in her logs to never let students do the end-of-the-year shelf stock, no matter how boring.

She then sighed, knowing all to well that the possibility she might see a student this year weren't pretty. Of the students who would come, fewer still would want to read. She sighed again and collapsed into her chair, to read about gods, myths, and heroic ventures.

@,

Dustin had been walking around when he heard the comment. He winced so hard that he clashed his teeth together on accident. He could tell from the comment that the guy was either talking to a Cubone or a Marowak. One thing you never mentioned to a Marowak was the skull on their head, and Dustin immediately turned around, not wanting to watch the confrontation. He decided to just find his dorm and claim a spot. Peering in, he saw that nobody was there, placed his bag next to a bed, and plopped himself onto the bed. The Sandshrew gijinka prayed to Arceus that nobody else in the school would be like the Smeargle. Realizing he should probably get a feel for the rest of the school, Dustin left his room to look around.

a Pawniard Gijinka

(And I realize... I really need to play pokemon black and white. Gettin' tired of having to look up all these pokemon I don't know XD

@,  (I hope this is right >-< Edit: Oh no you said "passed" Dx NUUUUU! I have made a mistake. *self reminder to always re-re-read posts before continuing )

Razor had been walking next to a student for awhile and when they reached the berry garden, her more nervous mood completely lifted at the wonderful smells of berries. She pretty much skipped herself over to a mago berry and bent down to smell it and stood back up. She turned to her company on her walk and said "Don't you just love berries? And all the plants? They are so beautiful!" Razor hadn't meant to start a conversation but waited for him to catch back up.

I might get lost if I don't have someone to tell me where the rooms are anyways.

Lhee

@,

That did it.  Lhee had spent the majority of his life over-coming the grief of losing his mother.  And while for the most part he had managed to overcome it enough to function normally, he wasn't about to stand there and take an insult about it.

"Don't talk about that!"  He hadn't meant to yell in the quiet hallway, but at the moment Lhee's body was acting without him really thinking about it.  In one smooth motion he drops his bag to the floor and reverses his hold on his bone club, spinning back towards the Smeargle gijinka and launching the bone spinning through the air at the other boy.

Lhee smiled as he heard the satisfying smack! of his bone club making contact, but that wasn't all.  There were two parts to a well executed Bonemerang attack after all, and Lhee had long ago mastered the move.  He counted in his head, not actually watching the attack but following it through out of memory.

One...  Two...  Smack!  There was the sound he'd been waiting for - the second strike on the bone's return trip.  Lhee holds up his hand and skillfully catches the bone club, his palm stinging slightly as the weapon smacks back into his grip.  Leaning down to pick up his bag again, Lhee turns and starts walking back down the hallway as though nothing had happened.  He was still angry - that much would be obvious to anyone who saw him - but he felt like the best way to resolve the situation would be to get as far away from the other gijinka as possible for now.

So much for no fighting, Bonehead.  If I get kicked out of here, the old man is going to kill me...  I may as well find somewhere else to go in that case...

Delphina stood and closed her book around her finger with annoyance. She stood and quickly exited the library, following the noise. "Alright, disengage," she said calmly. Without waiting, she pushed them apart. Then she smirked, "First day of school, and a scuffle already? This way please." She turned and walked off, assuming they'd follow.

"Ugh" Nik' groaned, clutching his throbbing skull. The only reason hadn't been knocked out was because he had thrown down a Reflect prior to being struck. Even so, it had hurt a lot. Still, it wasn't a complete loss. The Smeargle gjinka's tail flicked, sketching an outline of the bone club. That move was his to use now. Besides learning a new move, he had learned that the Marowak gjinka was sensitive about his mother and easily goaded into attacking. Nik' snorted. Such a pathetic warrior

"As you wish" Nik' said, putting on a face of innocence. It worked like a charm, most of the time. Even so, the Smeargle felt the need to buff his chances further by using Tail Whip, a move guranteed to lower someone's guard.

Grant Fernmint came around the corner and grabbed the students tail. "Good attempt, nice strategy. But alas, some are better than that. Go with Miss Delphina and don't play any tricks." Fernmint put a finger on his sword tentively and gave the boy a glare. Honestly, a quarrel already? This is going to be a long year.

Delphina rolled her eyes at the student's antics, paying him very little attention. There was a clearly marked map with paths to the principle's office. A map she ignored, apparently, as she went in the opposite direction. It was a short distance to the gym, which they entered quickly. She pulled a new book from beneath her 'skirt' and opened it to the page with a pen. "Names please. "

Lhee let out a loud sigh - of course it wasn't going to be over as simple as that.  Not letting himself look at Nik, he falls in behind Delphina.  He was staying quiet for now;  the Marowak gijinka felt that the attack had been entirely justified, and as such wasn't too terribly worried about what was going to happen.

Surely the staff have to know about the tales behind Cubone and Marowak...  They'll see why I did it once the situation's explained...  They're gijinkas themselves, they have to know about their students for like...  Health reasons or something, right?

As she asks for their names, Lhee crosses his arms and glances off to the side.  "...Lhee."  He wasn't shouting anymore - that was a good thing, at least.

On the inside, Nik' smoldered with rage at his tail being grabbed. Despite it being his strongest appendage, it was also very sensitive and he felt weak when grabbed by it. If it were anyone else, he'd attack them with Giga Drain(Taken from a Torterra). But this was a teacher, which meant he had to act nice.

"Such discrimination. I simply wag my tail to stretch it and you grab it" Nik' snarked but kept his anger to himself, still looking rather unflapped, save for the bruise forming on his brow and scalp.

"Now Amaya, you have everything?"

"Yes, Papa."

"All of your books? And your-"

"Yes Papa, all my books, and my ballet slippers, and my schedule, and everything else you've mentioned that i could have possibly brought along. Arceus forbid you ask whether I've forgotten my mind or not!"

Amaya Lakes stood beside her fathers sleek black car, peeking her head into the drivers side window as they rehearsed a conversation that had presented itself on the drive, time and time over. Her father sighed. " You do know I'm simply fussing over you, sweetie." Her father sighed, running a hand over the back of his neck,"Now, go on. I won't keep you here any longer when you have so much to do.Write often...have fun."

Amaya smiled softly to her father, gifting him a quick peck on the cheek before making making her way up the stone steps, and into the Academy.

Alright, Amaya my girl. She thought to herself as she made her way down the hallway, her footsteps echoing softly in the hallway. This...will be good. Fun....right? Not all all. Amaya's nerves were on fire and jumping around like...like something that jumps around. She was bad, very bad with people. Especially new people. Especially, new people in new places. At least i have my-....No, of course not. Of course i forgot my map. Even after Papa tried to remind me of everything, Oh Arceus, save me.

As She rounds the corner, Amaya, so very lost in thought, runs head first into another poor individual.

W-Where did all of these gijinkas come from?!

She writes it down in the book, slowly informing, "Lhhheeeeeeee." She turns to the Smeagle, nodding at her older collegue, "And you, young copycat. You got a name, or have I found something you can't talk about?" She'd judged from the earlier screaming what the fiasco was about.
