technology Getting rid of the default Nginx page

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to test a webpage I've just made, to see if it will work outside the localhost. However, I'm stuck on Nginx's default page. Google brings up zip.

This wouldn't irk me so badly if I hadn't fixed this in the past, and everything has since reverted to default.

Does anyone know what I can do, short of using another server?

(edited)

I found the conf file just as I had left it when I last used it a year ago. I edited it to my more recent liking, and nothing happened.

EDIT: Found the original problem. When I do

nginx -s restart

as root I get this error:

nginx: [emerg] unknown directive "%PDF-1.4" in /usr/share/nginx/www/RegForm.pdf:6

This leads to an "Unable to connect" error in Firefox.

Any ideas?
