The moderators of this forum? Together with Feld0, they represent an extremely competent staff with whom I've had zero problems and abundant praise for the quality of their work.

 

I can't think of another forum where the moderators have had such universal acceptance, especially for forums that get as large as this one has been growing. And I've been on a lot of forums, since I've been using the internet in one form or another for the past fifteen years. I'm not sure why the staff is so accepted, but I'm going to credit it to the actions of all the moderators and Feld0.

They're either completely insane or very dedicated to be willing to devote their time to make sure everyone on the forums behaves in a civilized manner.

 

All that matters is that they get the job done, so no complaints from me.

Speaking candidly, the moderators here a wonderful. I've never encountered them abusing their powers or patronzing other members because of their elevated authority. Furthermore, the rules on this forum are fairly common sense in practice; sometimes, admins and mods can't help but micromanage every aspect of their forum. I'm glad the staff here is relaxed without being absent. It helps to have a strong, friendly community as well.

The moderators here are so friendly and easy to talk to...

You don't need to run around talking through bot-after-bot in an effort to say 'hi.' They post every now and again in the forums, and are always ready to solve any tech problem.

The board rules are not absolute - meaning, just because we do not explicitly prohibit something does not mean you should be doing it. Generally, if you post content that disrupts the community or makes it less enjoyable for everyone else, said content will be deleted regardless of whether we explicitly disallow it or not.

 

For instance, we do not actually prohibit swearing. However, if every other word you type is the F-bomb, you can't honestly be expecting to get away with it. The rules are not a replacement for common sense and good judgement, and members who deliberately try to find loopholes in them or otherwise slide around authority will likely be penalized for it.

I have seen a lot of people trying to slide past rules or do things out of context with the rest of the community and they have not had very pleasant results.

 

Now about moderators.

I find the moderators are very friendly and do their job well! There is always at least one online and normally one in the chat, which is impresive when there are only 5 and 1 admin.

 

They answer private messages a majority of the time even when they have tons of pm's and have a great knowledge of the websites rules, and server information. Moderators like these is what all forums need.

 

My one downside: when they are in the chat they generally lurk except when they first enter or on occasions. Although i can understand this acts as cover to catch people red-handed at times, it is sometimes a little awkward when you mention said moderator only to find out they arent actually there. (Sometimes) when they are involved in the chat they are very friendly and still enforce the rules well, so this is not a major problem at all.

 

Aside from that these mods are far better than some i know in other places, that never show up, or abuse powers and break rules because they are higher on the scale. I have seen some pretty terribad mods and these mods here are some of the best.

Back when I first joined, I was amazed at how the moderators here are actual people, and by actual people, I mean no god complexes, actual interest in the topic of the forum, use their brains, and have a presence outside just being a moderator.

 

And then I became a moderator and it all went downhill.

They do a better job here than most mods do elsewhere. Not sure if that's because they're better people, or because bronies tend to be nicer and less, uh, "banhammer-happy". But either way, they're great.

@auriety couldnt be more true. As a minecraft server admin i know a lot of people that simply bypass the proccess of "warn, kick, temp ban, ban" and go strait to ban-hammering them into the ground. Its nice to have such a friendly and safe community, and thats all thanks to moderators not going nuts with their powers. If they did, people would be accusing and get angry, ultimately turning a thriving community of friends into a rioting tornado of fire.

Meh dont think feld0 is QUITE god. Although he does a good job of controling and handling problems around here we dont need to worship him! The worst is when some one is treated that way when they are trying to be a friendly community member instead of a terribad dictator. *has experienced it*

Lol i know feld0 is pretty awesome but we need to keep in mind he may not like being treated like a person of extreme power instead of a fellow friend. There are lots of stories about that actually. :3
