I talk to zoop and asdf on skype, but thats about it. I have feld0 on there but he hasn't been on skype.

I like these moderators. They are personable yet they do their job well. It is great to have moderators who have come from MLPForums and have received their titles because they have gained the respect of the higher ups, and not because they're just friends with the higher-ups and don't give two shits about the relationships formed here.

 

I'm a moderator on another forum so I appreciate any moderator job well done. In my experience, most of the time, being a moderator is easy. The larger the forum and the more crowds it attracts, though, the harder it is. And it's especially harder when there are trolls and drama queens rampant. I trust that the staff here would be able to deal with any difficult situation professionally.

The only other forum I have been on is Yahoo! Answers and the moderators there are just...well words can't describe *rolls eyes*. But I like the Mlp moderators. The ones here much nicer and they do thier jobs well; I don't feel like I have to tread so lightly around them.

They're alright, but pretty strict. This forum is kind of annoying to post on, as they never tell you why a post was deleted, and lock too many threads just because someone gets angry or offended or it goes off topic.

I do think the off-topic thing is a bit strict, as in my personal opinion, a little off topic is fine as long as the thread re-rails itself. I don't think posts need to be deleted because of that. But that's my view. As far as them telling you though, you can always PM them. Staff have lives too, and this is an active as f*ck forum. Coming to them and asking is probably helpful sometimes.

The only mod I've had any interaction with is arylett, and unfortunately, most of it was arguing over how she runs RP world. And though I still disagree with her, I still have great respect for her because she was always polite and posted intelligently the whole time. Which is a bit rare for mods, if we are judging by other forums.

I've RPed with her once or twice, and she definitely knows what she's doing.

 

The rest of the staff, I haven't had much interaction with. But they're all pretty cool and not mod/ban happy, so that's good.

The angry/offended reason is actually one that I respect a lot... there are a handful of threads that get really heated with debate and don't contribute to the forum community in a positive manner. It is all right to disagree and to have debate, but a lot of the time when that happens, people will resort to name-calling and extreme judgmental behavior. We don't need that here and I'm glad that the mods get rid of it. It encourages the rest of us to not keep that behavior up.

 

I also agree that a little off topic is OK and that a thread should just follow its natural course of conversation, but there's a tricky balance that has to be learned, because you still don't want the thread to be too derailed, but you don't want something like this to happen:

 

OP: Fluttershy is learning how to be more assertive.

 

Reply 1: Yeah I agree, she learned a lot in the Iron Will episode.

 

Reply 2: And even more in Hurricane Fluttershy. I liked that episode better.

Zoop, Kyro, Arylett, and Apple Bloom are my favorite mods, to be quite honest. Kyro's a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything and Arylett is a cool gal.

 

Also Zoop is a serial killer cool bald man.

I've only talked with Feld0 and AppleBloom and they both seem awesome. Feld0 is a mature as hell for their age from what I've seen, and AB was very clear and precise when I sent them a PM asking why something was done the way it was =3
